I always hated how horribly they treated her before she sang. They just looked at her and thought the worst. I always loved how she absolutely BLEW THEM ALL out of the water like a torpedo sinking an enemy destroyer at Midway. She taught them all a lesson. Never judge a book by its cover.
Yh, u should use that book the smack the judges in the face. Absolute injustice, honestly, these judges are among the most rude and cocky people I know!!
Tom Constance yh, IK, most of the the drama and stuff is all fake, if they see someone who could look like someone who would make a fool of themselves, they literally pay them to make themselves look like baboons - it’s a corrupt business that nobody recognised 🤦♂️
This shows how unfair life can be - this poor woman lived half of her life with no wealth , family or love . There is a lesson to be learned here , that is why the public keeps coming back to watch her story .
I believe, if I remember correctly, but Susan was taking care of her sick mother before she passed on. Her mom encouraged her to try going professional in the first place.
What do you mean unfair? Look what she grew to become? Throw a hundred seeds into a field and some will never get enough raindrops. Some will never bloom, some will feed a village. It is not unfair. It is natural.
@@emmatalmadge1473 Extraordinary. I too listen every time and it never fails to raise my spirits. I cannot find a flaw. Thank you Susan Boyle. Once again I have tears in my eyes.
Still my favorite audition ever. She is an inspiration. As the years have gone by her voice has gotten better... her dream to sing with Elaine Paige came true. God bless and protect her.
I don't remember how many times I've watched this and I've always thought the same thing. That little smile said, "Go ahead and laugh, because NOW you're going to see!"
She did. She knew for once in her life she'd get a shot regardless of her looks and she knew she was going to blow the roof off. It's a touching moment.
It was a historic performance, a very memorable performance. I've watched it dozens of times. In just a few minutes she completely turned that audience around.
My earlier comment : Shame on All the judges ! their looks had her poo pooed already. Too late to play nice. They should know not to prejudge. 47 is not Old.
@Analog Human Simon was visible annoyed and the audience peolple are laughing and mocking her. They are expecting a crazy woman blurting out an off-tune song and making ridiculous body gyration before she gets booted out by Simon in the most humiliating way possible But it didnt happened. Shamed on people who still thinks its fake.
Anyone afraid of public speaking should watch and study how unaffected she was by all the critics in the crowd, the 3 judges, and the world wide audiences that could tear apart and shred her confidence or confirm her status as one of the best performances they've ever had the privilege to witness and enjoy.
It's because you are watching an underdogs life change forever. Her life had been pretty rotten, but she rose to the top at that moment.@@kathleenlijewski8440
No one has ever chosen a better audition song. She dreamed the dream, her dream came true. She definitely rocked the audience!! Funny and delightful!!! She called Simon out!!!
Apparently, there weren't many opera fans in the audience. Susan Boyle doesn't look much different from some of the great female opera stars. Dame Joan Sutherland comes to mind, for one. I'll bet nobody would have laughed at Dame Joan's appearance.
@David Vance Absolutely correct, sir. One never knows the hurt inflicted upon another by the use of insults and gossip. We should all learn to listen and at least try to understand others. A silent tongue, eager ears, and an attentive, alert mind will earn you many friends.
@David Vance i just wanna say that u cant trust what u say on the show...often times they cut and edit audience reaction to show a negative or positive reaction.
Miranda Shepherd I have what's called major depressive disorder, so when the days feel dark and gray , just watching and listening makes me feel a little better! WTG Susan Boyle!
This just never gets old, I bet several hundred of these views are mine. Susan Boyle you are a treasure, I hope you know just how many lives you have changed and inspired.
AND SHE ABSULUTY DID !! WHEN EVER I SEE HER SING I THINK WHAT A FABULOUS PERSON TO SING THAT SONG . SUSAN WE ARE ALL SO PROUD OF YOU AND SO HAPPY FOR ALL OF YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS. I HOPE YOU NEVER STOP SINGING. THE WORLD LOVES YOU !!
I still think she's one of the best singers ever. I'm not sure if continuing her career was the best for her with her disability, but then again God did give her a talent to share. Our world is richer.
Almost eleven years later, and every time I hear this my heart twists itself into pipe bursting, soaking applause. But best of all, I'm still in awe. Thank you, Susan Boyle.
As soon as she started to sing I just began to smile, Her voice is enchanting! I hope she is getting something out of this in the present because she deserves it alot for that proformance!
Yep. I think it helped Simon and the group 'grow up' some that day. They are now more understanding of differences in people. Still funny ... but a dab kinder.
I cry like a baby when i watch it but: doesnt make me feel good about humon behaviour at all.. The laughter of the audience and they make fun of her before she started makes me feel sad, in a way.. I love her voice and the way she is. A real personality with a golden voice. I love she DID sing together with Elaine Page. Thats what makes me happy, not the faces people make at her. What if she was a bad singer.. think about that...
@@Wackywiener the Audience were appalled by the way she looked. You could hear the audience make sounds like she couldn't possibly be able to sing. She said she wants to sing like Elaine Page, and the audience doubted her. It was They, who made a judgement about her looks. That's were she proved all of the audience wrong.
Makes me cry too, dont get me wrong but i keep thinking: why no make-up, a better dress and haircut. Later on while singing with Elaine Page she looked, or should I say presents herself so much better! Its almost like they wanted to make her look stupid... all for the show. That makes me sad too. And the fact that there was no family or friends waiting for her backstage when she was crying and emotional. I love her and love to watch her no matter what she looks like, she's so kind and a great singer!
Just show that beauty comes from the inside...Susan kept her integrity when they were laughing at her...it just shows you, “he who laughs last, laughs best!... amazing woman❣️
Susan is a pretty woman..when she came on AGT....she did not have the knowledge of how to dress or hair.. Knowing now has not changed her..but enhanced her and attributed to a healthier life...good grooming does affect self
Even if she had not been wonderfully talented, what a horrible way to treat someone on stage in front of thousands of people. Not one of those judges have the talent Susan Boyle has. Shame on them!
Some of the audience were rolling their eyes as well. Some lil teenies thinking they were all that and more. Give me Boyle in a heartbeat. Substance and permanent goosebumps would be appreciated.
I just love to watch this every so often to remind me never to let jerks like the ones in that audience stop you. This is one of the most amazing things ever.
never get sick of watching this. Totally saved my life, From depression, suicide, etc. Susan saved my life. This, as I have said before, saved my life.
Julie, I am glad that this song has helped you. Life is what we make of it. Sometimes we forget that. Remember that someone out there loves you, and it would be selfish to take you away from them. God Bless you :)
I always thought that when Susan said she was going to sing "I Dreamed a Dream", that Simon knew it was going to be a serious song ... it's not a song for giggles or laughs ... he just didn't know how serious and how good it was going to be ...
@@PISQUEFrancis I 'be watch again yesterday and if you watch Simon's face, the times they show it, you can literally see him fall in love with her voice ... like anyone who hears it. I have been reading up a bit more on her and despite het voice she is a remarkable woman. The utter gutts it must have taken for someone who grew up believing they were slightly brain damaged, who grew up being called Suzy Simple, to go stand on that stage. And she nearly didn't, but her vocal coach, said she should do it for her mum. But what sticks with me, is no matter what reward she receives, she is always "humbled". What an amazing world we would live in, if all of us were humble and realized that all we have is just grace.
@tommy aronson sure he did, but I still don't think he quite expected THAT! I mean let's be honest, she did look a bit different, which I do think can now be explained by her diagnosis of Asperger's. And to go and stand there with that at the time undiagnosed diagnosis makes the fact that she actually did the audition so much more amazing.
Patti so very true but unfortunately society has conditioned us to .... but on the upside don't you get a buzz when the delusional egotistic beautiful yet talent less contestants get a reality check?.. I do lol
@soli Sanchez You got that right. I hardly ever watched this program because I couldn't stand Simon. He is a snobby, condescending asshole, piece of manure.
Well the world now knows who Susan is! And she even made a chunk of change from it to from what I hear! So she did win in the end and get the last laugh that's for sure against all the non-believers!... Susan Boyles and inspiration to everybody
The look on simons face is priceless. He starts out thinking this going to be train wreck. From the first notes it's obvious he's having a HUGE eargasm
Leah Braga it makes me happy and tearful for the little person to win . I hope this will continue, meanng talent over who has money because holly wood wouldn't be the same . Eg. Kardashians have money but no tallent ....
Thank you Susan, I don’t know how many times I have this first performance of you. You are a extraordinary lady, with a voice of an Angel. I still get goose bumps, when I listen to this. God has given you a very special gift, treat it with care.
I'm another one who keeps coming back to this. I luv'd it and yeah, we're far too judgemental. Not all talents come wrapped in a pretty package. It's beauty is only revealed upon closer inspection if only given the chance.
Must've tasted SO sweet to Susan...Finally ...KNOWING she had it, but had also BEEN overlooked - so MUCH talent out there, people. That we're never ever going to find out about.
This is my 11th time watching this performance in February 2020 since its inception, and I, as a professor, am still using it as a "teaching material" as a classic of teaching my students the true tester of the human nature--both Susan and the judges are definitely "honest" to each other, and it is so pure and authentic that it did and does touch everyone involved then and now.
