This woman is my biggest role model ever. She believed in herself and that was enough for her to never give up. I was very disappointed that she did not win.
@kevlan1979 Well, she doesn't really care about being a celebrity, either. She just loves to share her gift. I read that before BGT, she intended to try out for X-Factor but got cold feet.
considering she became a multi millionaire selling her music, she's probably not worried about it. I know I wouldn't give rat's butt about winning if I became succesful. BGT launched her career.
@kevlan1979 Really? It wasn't her mental health, but she was very exhausted. Going and going where's a person down. Gain some sympathy and understanding.
Notice after the first couple notes that aren’t quite right, she immediately puts her hand to her diaphragm and gets back on-key. Excellent recovery and the rest of this performance is outstanding. This is not an easy song.
I've studied Musical Theatre for 15 years. And in my experience and people I've met, only about 3 have nailed that entrance. That is an INCREDIBLY hard entrance. Remember, she said she's never sang in front of a large audience. Whilst Memories is not one of my fav songs, I will admit that she is OUTSTANDING. She sings from her soul. Every great legendary singer in history, has always sang from the soul and heart. From Ohio: Way to go Susan, and I will be hoping you win.
She has excellent vibrato for being an amateur at the time, especially because this song is sung with such a strong American accent and she sings with her Scottish accent. I really don't know why everyone dislikes her, she's got a very lovely voice.
Well, It was originally sung by English women because it has a tons of British words that maybe Americans don't know or sometimes mess up. But, either British or Americans or even others can even sing this..........
I swear when she sings touch me its so easy to leave me alone with my memories of my days in the sun ! I think of my beautiful mother ! Please know rude comments i'm having a hard enough time already !!!
Susan said, "all my life I have struggled, tried to prove myself, that I'm not the worthless person I think I am. I do have something to offer. Amen, Susan. You are beautiful. You don't have to prove it. You are precious. You offer more than you know. What a blessing.
It hurts me to hear Susan say that people have thought her as worthless. She definitely is not worthless. Shame on the ones who have said it. She has guts to sing in front of millions of people. I have heard many professional singers in person that get off key. The important thing is that Susan is conquering her insecurities and proving to all around the globe that she has something beautiful to give to the world, and that is herself and her beautiful kind spirit and a wonderful voice. :)
A little tentative at first, but she pulled it through. With her being under a microscope for the last few weeks and hopes of over 100 million fans on her shoulders, I think a little nervousness is par for the course. Standing ovation from all judges says it all. Way to go Susan.!!!!
Susan Boyle, a humble, ordinary lady from Scotland who has a cheeky sense of humor, took her chance to step on BGT's stage. With her incredibly beautiful voice, she sang "I Dreamed A Dream" and became a world known star overnight. Susan is the light amidst darkness, who inspires so many people every day. Without a doubt, Susan Boyle is one of the best vocalists of all time. Her songs are sung with great passion and emotion that touches my heart. There will never be another singer who has her dramatic and unique impact on the music industry. I love everything about Susan Boyle. May she be blessed today and always 🎭🎤🎶✨️💞. Hello, I'm a student of English, I like the British accent, I would like to know what the presenters say, I do not understand very well, I liked someone to write the words that the presenters say from 4:30 to 5 minutes
I can listen to 3:35 - 3:40 over and over again, all day, everyday, and get the same overwhelming rush of emotion each time. Susan's voice is just so incredible.
When everyone commented on her first performance I "requested" this song... I am so happy this song was chosen... She looks lovely and didn't disappoint...
I cannot imagine the pressure she had on her shoulders. 100 million people watching first her performance and would be watching again. How she managed to do it I don't know, but she was and is beautiful and has an awesome voice. Maybe not a good as the first vocal, but the pressure had to be extreme. Congratulations, you are a wonderful woman.
For me Susan is a proof that we should always stand for our dreams. No matter what others think. I really hope she will sing in front of the Queen. I wish her this with all my heart.
I am no expert but that song is one of my all time favorites. She was nervous admittedly ,but it was still absolutely spine tingling. She puts so much emotion into it, I cant stop listening to it.
I bought a copy of Susan's cd at BORDERS and the people at counter told me that more and more copies of her cd keep coming and then going....FAST! Her cd is really making a KILLING in all stores! She could very well and easily set a new record!
There's a magic in her , an absolute magic in her voice and the way she speaks , I always come here when I feel desperate, Gosh she's 47 years old and still have that power and energetic feeling to keep moving and take a career path without thinking or taking care of what others would say ! she seems that she is not focusing or understanding how they underestimated her in the 1st time , wish I have the thing she has inside !
What a great performance under so much pressure! It's very admirable to see how she remains so respectful and modest, even to those who are now sucking up to her, she really knows what she wants, to sing and nothing else. Good luck in the finals Susan!
I wish I lived in the UK, so I could vote for her! Thanks again, Susan, from the USA! The world loves you, and please know that you are the breath of fresh air this world sorely needs! Love, Denny!!!!!
I'm amused that there's still people out there who type dumb negative comments. Come on people, get over it! Anyone with even half reasonable detection of talent and ability, can clearly see and hear that Susan Boyle is an incredible human being and an amazing singer!!! You're AWESOME Susan! Keep up the great work and keep being the genuine person that you are!!!!
All performer wanna be loved but Susan innately knows how to get it done and take you along for the ride. What a ride it is too that is why she will win. Folks find it hard to leave their first love and Susan makes it really hard to leave her cuz she delivers everytime. Thank You Susan
Susan, beautiful performance, Know that you can do no wrong. Everyone smiles when your presents graces the stage and as you can hear by the applause, you have a vast amount of people who enjoy every second you share with us. Thank you.
Even though she struggled in the beginning what's awesome is she did such an amazing job that the judges didn't mention it. So it didn't matter. I loved her.
Susan....Every day you give me the strength to face the world...God gave you a wonderful gift and we all thank you for sharing it with us....You will sing before the Queen, your dream will come true...Please Get Well Soon as we will All be waiting for your beautiful voice to be heard again...An Adoring Fan in America...
Not only is Susan a great singer, but she is also a fine actress. See, Christmas Candle, a movie well worth seeing more than once. Go, Susan, God Bless and keep you,
i thought that she might be distracted by what the world is talking 'bout her right now but she really did what she had too and proved her talent Amazing, really! I think she deserves the first place
She has certainly touched me. Susan may be gauche and not hit all the notes but she has nonetheless a strong presence, a beautiful smile and is an absolute joy to listen to and watch. The woman is an inspiration.
Its a shame that people are comparing Susan to others. She may not have the best voice in the world and probably would admit that herself. But she loves to sing and it shows and her voice has that rare quality that touches hearts and raises it to a different level. How daunting everything must be for her and she still managed to pull it off in fine style. I hope she wins.
It's typical that she'd get criticised for the opening, but then one mustn't forget that the other acts all had superb backing to support them. She also had to wait until the last and had a massive build up, she knew she had a lot to live up. Considering the pressure she was under she done superbly. She was so gracious at Simon's apology. A difficult song sung wonderfully, well done Susan, I look forward to hearing more from you.
This lady sings marvellous!!! Unbelievable! What an incredible voice and so pure! I think not many singers can match with her voice. Well done and I hope you are going to win, Susan!
I have two autistic sisters, and as children our parents took us to see Cats in theatre. It did not compare to this, but I love that this amazing woman gives hope and direction to my sisters
A tiny bit unsteady for a minute or so and then...OVER THE MOON! When Susan hit "Touch me, it's so easy to leave me...", Elaine Page herself would surely have to sit up and take notice.
I love this woman, She is so inspirational. When Susan hits those highnotes she absolutely knocks the socks off of me. Your fans are behind you Susanand you have a great career before you. I know your Mother is looking down with a smile on her face for her beautiful daughter. God Bless you Susan Boyle !!

She's an amazing singer, and she's actually a break in the trend of "talent doesn't matter, as long as they look hot" going on with singers now days. It's a singer that has gotten famous around the world for her talent, unlike the numerous pop-puppets now days.
