The Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks Band covers Bobby Blue Bland's "That Did It" on 11/30/21 at the Orpheum Theater in Boston, MA. Brought to you by Less Than Face Productions. Audio by Bob H.
I felt this in my face!! This is why I love this band! Derek is, by some peoples opinion, one of the greatest guitarist in music today. But Susan shines shredding and he smiles on. They do this for basically everyone in the band, always generous with the spotlight. I love the gems that come from it. However , my favourite is when Susan let’s loose like this!
she has the perfect blues voice, and her Guitar playing has just steadily improved over the years....talk about a power music couple, her and Derek!!!!!
This! A million times over... I love TTB, we all know Derek is one of the most gifted guitarists to ever play guitar slide or otherwise. That being said when Susan cooks like this I love how he and the band kick it up a notch with her and she in turn turning up the heat. Love this band.
Such a great band. And Susan……she looks like the next door neighbour, just brought over some muffins she baked and asks politely if she can tear off a couple of blues songs while she’s here. I guess so. Oh…………oh!!!
Listen to Bobby Blue Blands version first to get the background and lyrics better, but Susan just KILLS it. Derek is just a Rhythm player in this one, but smiling the whole time.
true but if i were her boyfriend i would make sure she was not playing next to an amp with a red cup and a cheap bottle of plastic water on it .... come on !!!!!!!!!!
appropriate for Mormon blues camp, of course, and Mormons blues camp is a great thing, and all due respect, but it is disrespectful to this heart-felt music which was written by people who never played guitar next to an amp with a red cup and a cheap bottle of plastic water on it .....
Susan crushing it as usual. Took my wife to a BBBland and BBKing show in Jacksonville Fl probably back in the '80s ... we were the only two white people in the old CIvic Auditorium which was of good size. We stuck out like sore thumbs in that room, but ALL had a great time!
Wow. Killing it. I was kind of "yeah Susan Tedeschi and Trucks are real good." Comparing them just a bit to my total fan love for Blackberry Smoke. Well, Susan just sent me over the line: AMAZING with this one. Stunning. BBS doesn't go there with this kind of blues. Susan knocked it out of the park. Linda in France.
I think "shreds" may have been a bit to strong. Don't get me wrong, Susan has incredible talent, just not of the 6 string version. Watching Susan vs let's say Ana Popovic play, it's like she's 2 finger typing vs 10 fingers.
