Susanna Hoffs of The Bangles is back with a brand-new solo album, Someday, and the busy mom and musician stops by ETonline to explain why 15 years have gone by in between solo efforts!
It's 2023, July and she is STILL as beautiful as she is here and she was in 1980s. She is timeless. So talented and very articulate! I envy her husband who is gifted with her presence on a daily basis. Man!!! Susanna you are awesome!!!
She's absolutely had botox and fillers, though not overdone. The shape of her eyes is different, and her forehead has limited mobility. It's more noticeable as an esthetician and makeup artist (her makeup is perfect for a woman her age as well). Thankful that she didn't go the Belinda Carlisle way.... 🙄
@@sachertorte1000 Gosh that's so gross to analyse that. I'm a couple of years younger and I look young too. Though I don't even go to a salon regularly to get my hair cut and I'm not in the limelight. So I don't get free makeup things done either. It's a gift of God... I guess🤔😀😊
@@veejay4211 She's clearly had work done. How is it "gross" to state what she's likely had done at her age? The idea that she's had no cosmetic work just contributes to the sexist trope that other women her age who look their age (either because they choose not to have cosmetic work or can't afford it) are too lazy to take care of themselves and maintain an acceptable appearance.
Good interviewing here. No silly questions, no fan drool, informed but low-key, left her to her own words. She's a charmer for sure, a dream subject in more ways than several!.
Manic Monday awakened the world to her incredible voice. Walk Like an Egyptian awakened the world to her incredible eyes. The Bangles awakened the world to female rockers. An iconic breakthrough band, in my opinion.
jerlan23 the band admitted though that their commercial era in the 90's on the second album. Too overproduced & streamlined. It's still fairly awesome though but still...
WOW... ! How I remember Susanna Hoffs in "1989".. She was every teenage boys nightly dream... Love her song of "Eternal Flame". That song will always remind me of her and the "Bangles". What a talented singer... She will always have a place in my heart for her.
There are beautiful woman....and there are beautiful woman that make us say ....OMG...!....that voice is even more beautiful. when I first heard her voice she made me have goosebumps and melt. Her sound though , like most singers wasn't the same in later years, but still beautiful. ...thank God for beautiful woman!
She has moved through the decades easily as an amazing vocalist and grew from a sexy performer and song writer to a lovely mature woman. A joy to listen to as she talks shop around the work that she continues to love. A consummate artist who is under appreciated.
@@truchua2626 I was making a direct reference to what Susanna said about listening to this guy playing guitar in her living room while she's in the kitchen just washing the dishes. Perhaps you should listen to the interview before barfing your hatred of men on what is intended as a loving comment. Oh, and I DO do the dishes and clean the kitchen in appreciation of my gal's incredible cooking. It works out well.
I've been carrying a torch for Susanna Hoffs since the early Bangles days, in the mid-80s. She is as talented as she is beautiful. I am so glad that she is alive on Earth, and doing what she does. I would love to build a guitar for her someday.
Wow! This is fantastic. I have never heard SH speak at length before. She's amazing; so authentic, intelligent, positive, delightful. Love her with Sid and Susie, and can't wait for the new installment.
What a beautiful person. She's taken really good care of herself, and most likely used very little drugs and alcohol in the last 25 years. She seems like a really good soul as well. I wish her all the happiness that God can give a mortal soul.
Undoubtedly one of the most beautiful women in rock history, and she has the talent to match. I've always liked her guitar playing a lot-all those jangly Rickenbacker tones somehow complement her voice.
even at age she's so gorgeous, i love her because of her talent, intelligence, influence, charm-- i dont know with you guys but for me she's a perfect iconic woman-- I love you Susie :) biggest fan :)
I saw her on the Dick Clark show when I was a very young teen (like 13) and her sideways look just knocked my socks off..... they were the Bangles and she was singing something about Monday.....but all I saw was this amazing face and look and I was sooooo hooked.....WOW....and now all these years later I listen to this interview and see what a beautiful and lovely lady she has turned out to be.... I just imagine that Adam felt this way about Eve....
For "53"...... HA! Susanna Hoffs is more beautiful today in 2021, nearly 10 years after this interview, than she was in 2012 or even in the '80s. It's not that she doesn't age...at all. I see people say that and I think to myself it's not exactly the right compliment. Not that it's wrong per se, because sure, she doesn't age like "normal" people maybe, but the reality is in every way in which time has touched her it has only made her that much more beautiful and amazing. Whenever I see her my vocabulary drops to a count of one and gets stuck on repeat because I just keep saying to myself over and over again, "wow", and usually out loud.
what a fantastic musician ! A true all-in-one talent whose as gifted a song writer as she is a guitarist and a singer. The Bagels have main- tained a fresh sound, yet their sound is pure 1960s ! They're a continuat- tion of the fantastic arrangements and sounds from that decade - an ongoing exploration into the different directions '60s music would have taken, had the 1960s never ended ! This being due (in no small part) to Susanna's great contributions.
It would be my absolute dream to get to write and produce a song with her. Everybody freaks out over her looks but she is just so talented (a highly underrated songwriter) and has such an exceptional voice. Love her solo stuff and work with Matthew Sweet as much as the Bangles stuff.
Yes this type of speaking voice is called "mellifluous" or "euphonious" and is a rarity -- the type of woman who you could just listen to all day long no matter what she talked about. I'd call her on the phone from work just to listen to her voice.
She has aged very well.. heard she's now 63, I'm at 60 and remembered her and her band on MTV when MTV was in its prime.. 1980s baby!! What an excellent time in life to be a independent young adult living as a professional Frisbee freestyler and Artist in the Great Pacific Northwest. Seattle and Vancouver, B.C was good to me...
Remember the 80s. Oh man Suzana hoffd is legend. One of the queens! Great rock n roller, super beautiful, so talented. I turned 20 in 84 and the angels got super big. Her the Peterson's and Michael.
