In this Best of Cops marathon, officers are out on the streets cracking down on crime and busting drug users. Officers respond to a call of a suspicious person. As they arrive on the scene, the suspect appears to hide drugs and quickly attempts to escape police capture despite being held at taser-point. Elsewhere, a traffic stop goes wrong as felons refuse to cooperate with the authority.
Real-life officers are followed by a camera crew, cinéma-vérité style, in a gritty up-close look at police work and the consequences of crime. It spawned a number of police-reality imitators.

That happened to my brother when he was 9. Brother knew where the older boy lived. Dad and brother went to the house. Mom claimed it was her son’s bike. Dad had already called the cops. They just showed up when the mom said it was her son’s. Dad said that there was an easy way to claim it was my brother’s bike. Dad whispered to the cop where to look and what was on it. Cop flipped the bike and saw what my dad had engraved on the bike. Cop actually cuffed the mom and his partner cuffed the kid. This was in the early 70’s. Brother got his bike that day. The two were taken downtown. His dad/husband had to get them both. Dad/husband was in the army at the time. He was not a happy camper. Dad/husband stopped by our house to let us know they were being shipped back to her parents in several states away. The boy was his stepson. He said that was the last straw for him. That wasn’t the first time the kid did that.

Worthless people i tell you what. In my area there's a lot of homeless drug addicts. Some steal bikes but lots of them steal freakin KIDS SCOOTERS. Not electric ones but little razor kick scooters. So a 30 year old will go around looking for and then steal a freaking seven year olds SCOOTER. like they are that lazy that stealing a child's scooter is better than walking. Riding a scooter is not much faster than walking and walking doesn't come with the risk of being arrested

Officer Ryan Mann "I don't know, your attorney could have graduated last in his class and they still call him an attorney." LOL! I have watched this episode umpteenth times now and that still gives me a good dose of chuckles. I like Officer Mann. Of of the nicest coppers from this series. I hope he is doing ok today, whether still serving or retired.

Licensing cannot be required of free people, because taking on the restrictions of a license requires the surrender of a right. The driver's license can be required of people who use the highways for trade, commerce, or hire; that is, if they earn their living on the road, and if they use extraordinary machines on the roads. If you are not using the highways for profit, you cannot be required to have a driver's license.

About 90% of these police were very understanding and seemed to just genuinely want to do their job the right way. Pretty rare.. they also are being taped though so.. but the guy riding the bike at night and the cops jumped him - wtf... not sure what he did but how can you get charged with resisting arrest when there's nothing to arrest in first place.. 🤔

12:00 this dude is crazy. I understand she is afraid of dude and just wants to keep him chill. But if he was gone for 2 years and all of a sudden comes back and is showing up INSIDE your house girl you need to call the cops, keep your windows and doors locked and get protections. Mace, taser, or go lethal if you want. But that man is not going to leave her alone I guarantee it. And the judge prolly won't do anything else about the situation because they hardly ever do. Most of the time the woman or person being harassed gets hurt really bad or dies before the judicial system protects them. It's a shame that stalkers and perpetrators have more rights then the victims do.

It's a crime if it isn't doesn't belong to that person, and/or if it isn't properly equipped and licensed. Riding on sidewalks is illegal also... There are PLENTY of laws that ignorant people can break just while riding a bicycle.

Why does the camera guy always take the camera off of the cops and gets real close to the suspect when they are getting physical with them. So you can't see what is actually happening. They never show how physical they actually get with people. I mean we don't want to see their face or the back of their head that close up. We want to see what's happening. But they don't want us to see when the cops act like that. Sad!
