Unfortunately, Etsy doesn't suspend shops which are stealing designs, moreover, Etsy gives them the opportunity to upload listings again after being reported
people should class action sue etsy for ghosting them. seriously at this point if etsy ghosted me, they would have gotten ALL the money because of ads and fees. that would be actionable in court for sure if they ghost me. you cant just take ad revenue and fees then block your customer when its their turn to make a profit and not give them any reason. they are asking for a class action lawsuit.

Within a few hours of opening my store I was permanently banned for no reason… I only had my own original illustrations and even 0 text so I cant have violated any rules that I can think of. When I signed up, I had to pay a fee of around 20 bucks, I feel like they cheated me for petty cash… I emailed them for help but they refused to tell me the reason. Idk what to do, I was so excited try to open a little webshop

Same thing. No e-mail or reason given from Etsy. Appealed, and got an (auto) reply after 1 minute, saying they had given it deep consideration, RUBBISH. Tried to find a way to contact them, NOTHING. Tried to close account, have to pay the fee for listing!
Heather, having multiple streams of income is wise. Selling on Amazon, eBay, and other platforms is wise. Investing in stocks is another income stream. It's good to check out every option you can. Great video!
Etsy is such a pain the ass. I got banned multiple times. I don't understand why the creators of platforms like Etsy can't give everyone a smooth experience and get rid of these ridiculous bans. It shouldn't matter how many listings people put up a day. If there's a limit, it should be between 150 to 200 listings a day.
Why can't ETSY be just TRANSPARENT??? is it run by too many bots now that they can't actually SEND a clear email when the red banner said "an email has been sent for explanation" This is too much cloud that would be sellers are just left hanging. Why are we left to only speculate and assume what we did wrong? the Terms of Service has been clear. If this is something that is communicated smoothly, we can just solve the problem on our end and continue. And why the SUSPENSION right away? What happened to warnings? When you get to Esty help desk, instead of getting a clear and direct answer, you are given canned response about a 14 day turn around time where you can't sell or make progress??? So disappointing!
I’m in the process of setting up my store and was suspended for no reason at all. They need to update their bot crawlers so that it stops happening to people for no reason at all. IT’s ridiculous and they are a wealthy enough company to fix it . They are not a new platform so there’s no excuse at all whatsoever

they banned my girlfriend shop this week , there bots are joke , it is the baddest ecommerce platform of all time ...no customer support for seller so when you put hours on it figure out that one day there will be nothing cause they are just a bad investment
I opened my store last week, posted 2 items, and got suspended 1-2 days after, permanently. appealed and it's permanent. none of what you mentioned was something I did, I'm baffled by the way I was suspended. this is very sad to me since I truly didn't do anything to my knowledge, yet I have no second option on it.
Im so upset right now!!! I opened my shop in October of this year and made about a few sales. I had 2 sales being processed and then received a notification today that my shop has been premaritally suspended for no reason at all. I did receive a email with the dispute form included in it and I did complete it, but I am so lost as to why my shop has been suspended. My customers who were waiting on there items have received an email informing them that my shop is no longer selling on etsy. SMH!! Can someone please assist me.
Thanks again, Heather. You are really cool. Why you ask? Because you are letting people know about things that may be difficult to talk about, however, this type of video is a Must Watch. Imagine working for weeks, months, perhaps a year, developing wonderful ideas, securing your own Trademarks and you finally start to sell, and WHAM, your store is gone. A suggestion, and easier said then done is, if an Etsy Seller comes up with words or design that is receiving a large amount of sales, and they strongly believe it can be put on various products and do super well for a long time to come, think about Trademarking it. Just a thought.
I have a store with Shopify, I was planning to use Etsy to start another business with them but I got suspended the second day after I opened the account, I am disappointed because it seems like for the minimal mistake you can "pay" for it...those sudden store closing can affect the sales...I named Shopify as these are not things that you have to worry about...at this point I will chose another platform, I dont want to be worry all the time, when I am supposed to be able to market the products...
Thank you for the video.... This happened to me at Amazon and eBay... I was making over quarter million dollars per year on my store (firearm parts/accessories) and they did not like the products I was selling and kept suspending me. That was my main source of self business income. I now want to try a different market and your videos have definitely inspired me to do it. I opened my new Etsy store today and the system automatically suspended my account and did not receive an email for the reason of the suspension, and they just escalated it and said they will respond within 7 days. @@renofheavens2 They reinstated my seller’s account like 5 days after I submitted my inquiry to Etsy but received their email response days later without an explanation, only letting me know that my account is active and my listings will be available to view by people.
I started my store last week, linked my printify account, made a design and posted it (literally my own photograph I took), and within an hour got suspended. No explanation email, so I opened an appeal asking them why I got suspended, and am now waiting for their 9 day response. So frustrating, I double checked everything you mentioned and it seems to check out, so we’ll see what they say! Hopefully I’m not ghosted 😂
@@bukaradams5641 funny story. I sent in an appeal the same evening I discovered this. Got the automated response they were working on it. It’s been about 6 days, so today I decided to log in, and what do you know, my account was unsuspended! However, Etsy failed to send me any sort of communication that it was back or, or explaining what had happened. So thankfully I have it back, but still in the dark as to why that happened in the first place. Awesome.

Yeah. You have tea, I have beef. I was suspended for the first reason with my new store. After researching why they would do that, I understood the algorithm shutting me down. Ok. But I was not told that in my email ( they kindly emailed, but only once). They initially told me something else was the problem. Eyeroll here. I won't go on, but after a while it seemed like the conspiracy-laden rants on their own forums were not far from truth. When they are "the only game in town" it's their rules, like it or not. Been on Etsy for 6 years and account got 'permanently' suspended yesterday and they won't tell me why. We don't infringe on anyone else, it's our product, we've had it for years, we've never bought our own product, we haven't even added to the store in a couple of years, same listings. No prior email, no warning, completely out of the blue - Have absolutely no idea at all why. Thank goodness Amazon is my main source of income and Etsy is just a sideline, but even so - Would really love to know why.
I've had an account suspension and now a shop suspension..... Both I've gotten no reason for the suspension and they never say why. The first time it took half a year just to get my account back. I wanted to start fresh after that and so I set up a new shop... all it has is a name. No icon. No header. No listings even. And they said I was permanently suspended but also said they couldn't even tell me why ! With my horrible experience with Etsy Support last time I am just so pissed that I have to go through this again... and this time I can't get my bank involed because of an order I couldn't complete (because I was suspended).

I wish I would have seen this video a few months ago. When I created my initial listing I just threw up a shirt I had thrown together on canva as a place holder without doing a trademark search and it looks like that just got me burned. That was my only listing as I was still putting stuff together but I found that I am permanently suspended for it. I am appealing, but don't know how far I will get.....not getting my hopes up. If I can't get reinstated because of 1 accidental strike then I would warn people to stay far away from this platform. I couldn't imagine spending years building a large business only to have Etsy pull you because of an accidental oversight.
I have just found your site, because my account was suspended this morning. I have no idea why (my account is only 3 weeks old)? I tried to find an email address, but the only thing I could find was an appeal form. I have filled it in saying I don't know why it is suspended. At the top of the screen it says to check my emails for reasons why, but they have not sent me an email. It is so frustrating as my site was just starting to get regular views.
Thank you for posting this video. I'm a new seller, did everything right, have not done anything that I know of to violate Etsy's terms of service or hit their tripwire, and I'm suspended. They put me on vacation Mode, I can't turn off as i want keep my store active, they didn't email i didn't do anything .i did email them ask them what is on, but they didn't reply yet.
There's no where to actually get noticed about these things, but I'm hoping someone in charge will actually see this! A month ago, I went to add Christmas items to my shop and found out that my shop was suspended! I received no notice, no reason, and little to no response when I contact "support." About 2 weeks in, they said they detected a "suspicious" login and that's why they suspended my account. Then a few days later then sent a request for my identifying information (which I sent). I replied, nothing changed. I complained again, and a few days later they sent the SAME questions, which I answered again. Still nothing happened. Finally, yesterday, they sent a message saying they suspended my account "by mistake" (really? no kidding!). So today, I went to add items to my shop, and I'M STILL SUSPENDED! I'm trying REALLY hard not to swear here, but this is unacceptable! How would you feel if a potential source of your income was just shut down without explanation? There's no one you can actually talk to, and several "elevated" requests by different people led to NO change. This is incompetent! Clearly Etsy doesn't care about its small vendors.
My shop doing 10-20k a month is suspended again, day 13 now. On day 5 they said it was a suspicious login, which makes no sense cause i use the same computer and wifi everyday. I answer their questions confirming it's me.... they ghost. Call again, I hear back yesterday, they said they suspended to keep my account secure (BS). Tomorrow they will probably finally respond and i'll be back in. How do I know? This is the 3rd time they've done this to me and I always get back in right on the 2 week mark haha (well not actually funny, just funny how much of a joke they handle these things).

How is it possible that top sellers are still on Etsy infringing on trademarks like Disney? I very much doubt Disney will give its license to Etsy shop sellers.
I got suuspended befoe the store was officailly opened, the first listing didnt get completed it kept saying oops somethings not right but did not highlight to tell what, I keppt rying over and over and it suspeneded me I didi email and have been waiting or a response, I spent almost a year learning and preparing and was so excited to begin, this is a huge disappointment and I do not understand what I did wrong at all.

Got suspended once because of that IP address thing. I was back and forth the hospital caring for my dying grandma and was switching between home network and hospital network multiple times in a day. Took them literally weeks to respond.
Wauuw, this can be a reason? My account has been suspended without any reason and i am getting mad. I have 4 different deviced that i use for my Etsy account. And as my sister also use that devices sometimes we can log in to my Etsy account from different cities. Can this be the reason?
@@Tinsitins They suspended me telling me that they saw suspicious activity on my log ins and I just told them my story and sent them supporting proof that it was me who was logging in and out of my account. They reinstated it like a week after.
Wow Etsy is great but sounds like they can be a bit toxic on occasions hence you don’t name your store in case they play with you. Thank you for your info and small wonder they changed their name from integrity to support 😂 my new store was suspended for no reason no policy breach. Thank you sister, for the video. I opened my Etsy account and on the same day my account got suspended. I created a ticket in the support system. After a week, I got an email from Etsy saying - 'Your Etsy account has been permanently suspended' . I have not created even a single listing nor did i make them public. I created a dummy listing as part of creating my profile. I never intended it to be made public. It was always going to be a draft, which i thought of deleting later. I have created no other listings. I tried integrating with Printful - the Print on demand service provider. But that was unsuccessful as my Etsy account was suspended. I filed an appeal. I'm not sure what to expect now. My fate totally depends on some support executive. All for doing nothing. There is no phone support or chat support. What a start man!! I was so excited to get into this and be part of the awesome Etsy community. What a shame. I hope i hear from them. If they still ban me, it guess its not meant to be..... This is frustrating even as a buyer. I couldn't answer the appeal form because Idk what I did to get suspended. Can a seller get a buyer suspended? I did ask a seller to refund an in-stock item because it didn't ship for weeks. I respectfully asked.
Re: overdue accounts - this is silly - Etsy needs to do like EBAY and simply just take the payment automatically. I should not have to manually pay the due amounts...goodness. I am not sure the 'why' - brand new store here (less than one month)....been REALLY careful re: trademarks, copyright, etc....
Its because they are bad and everything is too old there, they dont want to pay any money for someone to improve and update things. They dont even support google analytics anymore, same reason= too old, never updated.
How do I email Etsy?? That’s been the most frustrating part is there’s NO customer service or email account that I can find. They never sent me an email telling me why it was suspended.
I would suggest having multiple Etsy accounts linked to different emails, and even payment cards if possible. Also using the same VPN address for each one every time would probably be a good idea. You can have the exact same listings on each account.
They deactivated my first listing with a design that's really generic (there is no trademark) and suspended my account and didn't send any E-mail or reason why. It's not a permanent ban or anything, I still have control on my account.

Hello. Sorry to bother you. I deleted all my profiles for shipping out of my etsy account and then tried to make new profile shipping labels. But when I went back to printify they all said unpublished. And when I try to republish them they say publishing error. What can I do?
Hi Heather, my Etsy account was just suspended. I flagged it and got a respond back. The email says that after reviewing my store they decided that its not reinstatable and banned for good. But they dont give me a reason. What must I do to get the reason?
I got the same thing today, banned from ETSY without any infos. I forgot to pay the last month bill 7$, Done it late but its not a reason to ban me. Everything in my store are from me. It just say a lot about their personality as a business.
My account was suspended and I emailed them, but when they replied they didn’t give me an answer. Just said they will let someone else know and it’ll take up to 14 days to let me know. This is so frustrating because I know I did nothing wrong.

Purchasing from your own store on ANY platform (Shopify, Square, Amazon, EBAY, ETSY etc) is a violation of the merchant terms and you will get shut down and they’ll hold the money for 90-180 days
If I have someone set up my Etsy account, that would mean 2 IP Addresses. Would Etsy suspend me for that? ANd if so, how do youget someone to set up your store (if they don't live nearby)?

Speaking of Etsy micromanaging, they put a payment account reserve on my store. So I don’t get my funds from sales until the shirts ship. Does that every go away?
Yes! This does go away(sometimes in a few weeks) but they can hold until 60 days- I haven't heard of them holding more than 30 but sometimes this can happen.
My store was suspended today, all my payments are in reserve. I am afraid because I owe this money to the credit card. Did you receive your payments? How long it takes?
@@valiahorner3540 I received payments once Etsy gets a tracking number for shipping. It’s annoying since you have to pay the POD companies before they ship though. I think it resolved in about 2 weeks.Hopefully yours doesn’t take long!

My account was suspended and haven’t received an email stating this issue. How you’ve said I’d receive an email from them. Well I haven’t and so I am unsure why I got suspended, although it might be because I might have uploaded too many listings in one day and I hadn’t been received the wire transfer to confirm my bank account either . So I’m at really unsure what is happening.

That's fine, but there is nothing wrong with my account except that it has been hacked. So they probably closed his IP address, and as a result, mine too. How can I get in touch with them? Etsy is a joke....I'm not a seller but I buy alot....this summer I spent thousands of dollars in a few months....never a problem with my payments....never gave a bad review.....had a problem leaving reviews for over a month so contacted support who told me to sign out and back in to see if that fixed it.....I did....after that I was suspended and then recieved an email saying I was banned from ever buying or selling on etsy ever again.....I appealed to etsy multiple times with absolutely no reply....I only did what they told me to do....now I can never buy from the wonderful sellers I dealt with.....if you are selling on etsy you are losing customers for absolutely no reason....they truly are a big joke....
