There's no need to use spring compressors or a ratchet strap on a Defender, undo the damper bottom mount and jack up on the chassis, then push the axle down (watch the flexi brake line) and remove the old spring that should have no tension on. If I were you I'd go to machine mart and buy a 3 ton trolley jack and large stands, makes life easier. 👍

Fair play for having a go.... But you are gonna hurt yourself working on this this thing.......

Using that axle stand on top of a pallet is a recipe for disaster.

I’m only watching it throughout because I’m waiting for the 💩 to hit the 🪭!!

please tell me you at least torqued the wheel nuts when it was back on the ground

OK so now that all of your wheel studs are now stretched time to throw them all in the bin and replace them
