Main thing I don’t like about D5 is that you cannot have both air pressure remaining and no deco time displayed at same time like you can on the D4i or other computers.
Just got the d5, haven’t used it yet but the screen brightness is way “weaker” than on all the vids and promo material. Yet to see what it looks like under water and at depth. Great feel tho and controls easy to use.
I’m missing no deco time together with other information! Simply one display segment is definitely missing!!! How can you dive without that information? Are you permanently pushing the buton?
Was looking at getting the D5 vs D6i Novo. I bought the D6i Novo because it displays a lot on the screen without having to scroll. The D5 I would have to scroll to gas time, scroll to tank pressure, scroll to no deco time, etc. too much button pressing to get info. The D6i novo shows me all of this on one screen. It’s a shame because the D5 seems so nice.
Wow, they added almost feature I wanted from the old D series. Should have totally contactless inductive charging, though. Also who want a color screen so much that they would sacrifice battery life for it?
How to soft reset? My D5 is unable to turn off flight mode, I press a middle bottom, it shows loading, please wait but noting happen it turns back to the main page.
I used to think that and really want the Garmin but then I realized what I put my Garmin Fenix 3 through mountain biking, skiing, and other action sports and I realized that my life depends on my dive computer (along with proper training). While an inaccurate GPS track might ruin my Strava a depth reading being off could bend me. I'm all for keeping sport watches different than dive computers.
@@underthewaterdiver There is Garmin Descent MK1 which is a fitness smart watch and a dive computer. I am doing some research for all in one smart watch. Dunno how the perform though.
@@charlypelissier9762 hehhe at this point idk anymore, but garmin released a new watch with air integration 🥲. So it by far garmin is the best machine. I still own a Sununto and Apple Watch.
This computer looks so cool, but the strap mechanism is a turn off. I’ve had a Samsung smart watch with the same release and it came of my wrist a couple of times.
This black coat so easy to scratch... My D5 got some minor scratches at the first dive and I even didn't notice how and when it's happened 🤯 ( For example my 3 y.o. old Cressi Newton has 0 scratches ) D5 needs to be cover with some silicone bumper from the 1st moment you open the box. 🤦🏻
