You are A great teacher at Crochet. I’ve been crocheting a long time but I’m always looking for new status and there’s nothing better than learning from someone instead of from a book I thank you you’re amazing

At Last! I've watched a few crochet tutorial for beginners, and with mixed results, especially as to how to end a row, which stitches count, etc. This one isca perfect speed, shows every stitch clearly, repeats each stitch until you learn it, and explains teminology. She speaks clearly, too! I made this cowl in two afternoons, and it turned out perfect! 👍

Thank you! Oh no! 🤔I think we could solve that problem. I’d be happy to mail you some, if you want. It’s the first time I work with this yarn, and I am soooo in love! After a free rows working with it, I ended up with loads of projects in mind for this soft yarn 🧶.

Thank you, for the very kind offer of mailing this gorgeous yarn 😋 but I think it would cost you a fortune to mail to the UK 💕 but I can still crochet this cowl with a substitute yarn 😁 it's beautiful, thank you! 💜 Erica x

So....I've been working on and off of this for just over a week (3 - 4 hrs at a time) and only at 15 inches long so far. This is NOT a weekend project unless you crochet for 72 hrs straight. But, I am definitely not a super fast crocheter even tho I have crocheted for years, but I am not slow either. I guess I'm now jealous at all of those who crochet super fast, lol! I am also already on my 2nd skein of yarn. I am using Red Heart With Love (nice and comfy), size #4, 370yd per skein and a size 7mm hook just to loosen up the stitches a tiny bit. Stitches are still quite condensed which is awesome. I can't wait until this is finished. It is going to look AMAZING!!!! and warm too :)

I apologize for the delayed response. I read the comment and it left me thinking, so I thought I’d re-watch the tutorial, think about it some more, and then come back and respond. So I have three theories: 1. The yarn. I noticed a 1-2 hour difference in crocheting this pattern that resulted from the yarn choice. Your yarn is larger, so I would have thought that it would have worked up faster, which led me to the next theory. 2. Size. If you crocheted the same number of stitches as me (52, I believe?), but used a #4 yarn v. the #3 that I used, then your cowl will be larger than mine. 3. Hook size. I’m thinking, and tell me if this is waaay our there, but I’m thinking that in order to make our crochet times about the same, our hook-to-yarn size ratio would have to be the same.If I used a J hook, which is 6 mm, that’s twice the size of my yarn, then you would have had to use an 8mm hook for it to be the same. Or I would have had to use a 5 mm hook. Anyway, that would have made our stitches proportionally even, no? Then we’d also have to use a measurement instead of chain numbers in order to make the cowls the same width. So both of our cowls would have been 12p in wide, instead of 52 chains across. Does that make sense? They are just theories, but I’m thinking the cowl size and hook size may have been what made the difference between our crochet times. I’m not Crochet Speedy Gonzales, but the cowl worked up in a day (I needed it the next morning for a last-minute gift). I did spend the better part of the day working on it for sure, it wasn’t a quick 2-hours and done project. You mentioned that your stitches are quite condensed, whereas mine were kind-of loose. So I’m thinking that if we were to put our cowls side-by-side, mine would be smaller, more loosely crocheted, and likely not as warm (bc the spaces between the stitches would be more open). You’ll have to let me know how it turns out. I still have to make a holiday gift for my MIL. She lives in a mountain city, so a thicker version of this cowl would be awesome! If you like yours, then I can run out and get the same supplies as you and make one. 😁

@@ModeBespoke OMG!!!!!!!!! I rewatched it too & u wouldn't believe what I have been doing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been crocheting in EVERY SINGLE STITCH! I haven't been skipping stitches in between - LOL!!!! WOW! No wonder it's taking super long to do and so much yarn. I apologize for the misunderstanding :) xx But, it is super warm & thick tho, lol! Sorry about the confusion xx

Oh no!!! What are you going to do? Are you keeping it as is, or frogging it and starting over?
@lavenderrainbow5041
@lavenderrainbow5041 4 года назад
@@ModeBespoke I really have to laugh at myself :) I'm going to keep it as is bc it's nice and thick. The yarn I'm using also gives it a nice drape so no need to rip it up. Feel free to delete my comment. I don't want anyone to think that your pattern is NOT a weekend project. It is totally my fault for not paying attention to your instructions. xx
