Suzuki 15hp outboard boat motor, Cold Start. It hasn't run in 3 years.

I'm starting a new playlist on my channel to follow my other love besides cabins... Boats and outboard boat motors. I've been holding back and figure I should record what I like, that mean tinkering with old motors.

I got the same thing ran awesome for my whole youth on the Yukon river hundreds of hours sloughs, rivers and creeks it went anywhere that had 6 inches of water. Caught fire from gas leak once sunk it another time water pump burnt out but still has no quit just gotta cool her down or go till it quits. Sure had a fun time with that 15 on a 14' lowe I'm gonna rebuild that outboard now.

Awesome to see the engine run. I just did a top speed and fuel review video on the 2017 15hp Suzuki. Great engine!

you should have had either heli-coils or nut serts in the those threaded holes then they are fixed for life with steel threads

you should try helicoils. They may work better!

Can you make a video on how to use the muffs on outboards without the water intake in front the propeller?

I got mine running well, I was going top speed on my boat, then after a while it reved down at full throttle and wouldnt go back up, I cant figure out the problem and ja e cleaned the carb

Did you check your plugs? Could be running on one cylnder. It happened to me with this motor. Blew a head gasket and was getting water in one.

SolarBurrito I thought it could be running on one plug, but I did a compression test it was under 90 down to 60 in one, both the plugs look great and both spark

My oldest is 1968 and I did get it running. The lower unit had too many corroded parts so it wasn't worth spending the money on. It was a 3hp. You can get parts for old Evinrudes and Johnsons no prob on the net. I had a 1971 Johnson 3hp folding outboard that I loved to death. It got stolen in the cabin break in. I'll post my older motors sometime.
