I got a bike (gw250 inazuma) which uses same engine with vstorm250. And had a rod bearing failure (as i can tell from the sound and ride) soon i will be taking it to my repairman, so can i ask you about the parts would need to be changed surely in this kinda situation?
I've researched this. The material bonded to the friction plates seems to be an organic-type of material. Some manufacturers call it a "paper" but in reality it is an organic fiber material that is quite hard after being baked in resin. This friction material replaces what used to be made from asbestos.
My guess would be all those metal fillings could have part block the strainer reducing oil flow, chances are the first bearing got enough oil pressure, but the second didnt
