Helllo Costa Del Chaos! Thanks very much for watching and liking the vid! We are appreciative and super glad it was helpful Yes, every oil change is a perfect time to perform the balance chain check and/or adjustment like you mentioned. It’s amazing how easy and almost fun doing maintenance on Suzuki DR650 motorcycles is! Thanks again and have super safe fun adventures moto riding! …DR650 riding especially! JR @A1CFS-Moto
Thanks for posting this info its a big help. Just got my first DR650 a 1992 barn find with 27k on the clock and the previous owner never did any maintenance but change the oil.
Hello Alan! Congrats on ur purchase of the legendary DR650! It’s the funnest moto to ride and enjoy in almost any environment! Take care and have fun with ur moto adventures! JR @A1CFS
Howdy. I check the balancer chain every oil change on my 1990 dakar. But you really don't have to. Maybe check it once it vibrates more than normal but the P/O didn't check the tension once in 8 years, it vibrated a bit more than normal but it was still starting on the first kick and running great.
Going to do this on my 92 i just got back up and running. Thanks for the video! Btw, whered you get that seat? Looks comfy and my stock one is trashed...
I'm very happy to see a channel dedicated to the early DR! You are off to a great start, but can I suggest that you do away with the musical interludes? I mean it really has nothing to do with what I'm here for and it makes the video much longer than necessary with no actual content during those times...
Do you or anyone out there by any chance have the side plastics for the same dr650s in the video? I have one too but its missing one side plastic. Would love to find one.
