+PowerDrift Bajaj Pulsar 220SF or Suzuki Gixxer SF... which one should I buy? I'm totally confused, It's styling vs speed, mileage vs mileage, carburetor vs fuel injector..... I don't know what to do... Which one should I go for?
I used to watch this video in every now and then before getting my bike, and now that i have got it i thought it would be a crime not to share my feelings and experience of this bike though i have only ridden it for 3days- 1. This bike is Gorgeous and believe me when I say, Its better than the pictures of its own. 2. Get ready for some unreal attention in the streets. This bike is head turner and people are surely going to ask you about the price and engine capacity and everything.. 3. The front end is so Planted that i could not believe at once. The grip is Tremendous and if you can turn this bike in 50-60 kmph, the line it maintains is absolutely fantastic. 4. City Maneuvering is very good for a full faired bike. Feels light too. 5. The sound is fantastic, especially the exhaust note...Intake sound is good too. 6. The rear brake is ok, but the front Disk provides everything you need. Under heavy braking, the font portion stays solid. 7. The suspension setting for city is not too soft.. but still takes up the bumps without transforming any major blow to your body. 8. The Top portion of the bike is fairly light and thats why it feels lighter than my previous Honda Stunner which is actually 10kg lesser in weight. SF is easy to manage in parking bcoz of this. 9. Things I dont Like- The rear brake should have had more bite (though its not bad), The ground clearance is a factor when you are carrying a pillion and big speedbreakers can cause problems. The seat is ideal for two and nothing more(for my size). Not even a large backpack in between the two. And the Gear is a bit clunky right now; may be it will get better with time. AND LASTLY, The Turning Radius is a bit more that can cause problem in narrow areas.
Mik Ban Pleased to see such a description. Could you please let us know how the bike has been doing since? A similar kind of long term review is very much appreciated.
same here bro ..watching this video for almost 50+times ..and i will be buying gixxer sf abs at the end of this month ..and ya ..will watch this video 50 more time just to feel good that yaaa this is what i am buying
Kaustubh Rajpathak Yes that would be a great idea, because market is full with gears ranging from rock bottom prices to likes of Alpinestar. A good video about them would be great for the motorcyclists. :)
PowerDrift yes... and you can actually get some pretty good protection if you buy the right combination of "cheap stuff" . you just gotta teach these new guys about the main points of contact that you need to protect.. and how to upgrade your own equipment with simple tools and hardware. If you can cut your own leather straps and pop your own rivets you can do wonders with "cheap " armor.
Your videos are the best in terms of cinematography and direction that i have seen from indian youtubers. I'm always excited about upcoming videos. Keep it up guys! :)
Hey guys! You are doing an awesome job. I simply love the way you make your videos. The graphics, the camera-work, the entry effects are simply fantastic (special credits to the intro of the Triumph speed triple review). I keep coming back for them more than the actual review of the bike which you do a great job at. I just felt you should do the in-city commuter thingy more often with bikes having 250cc and under. Also as request I wish you could compare the Gixxer SF, yamaha R15 and the CBR150 in a video just like you did with the Gixxer SF and AS150.
I fucking love it... I still remember the Hero Honda Sleek , Yamaha YBX and then the CBZ 150, after that came the Pulsar, and the battle between the CBZ Star and Pulsar models... Karizma being the only bike which was over 200cc plus the fairings... It has taken nearly more than 12 years waiting for a cheap 150cc with fairings. After I have some spare cash, I am going to Suzuki showroom and buy me a Gix SF with my eyes closed.
PowerDrift Thank you very very very much for this video! Great review, awesome editing, superb and catchy soundtracks as always :) this video has cleared out most of the doubts of my mind about SUZUKI gixxer sf like engine cooling at high RPM and riders comfort etc I almost made my mind to buy this now instead of CBR 150r ! Cheers team :)
Sincerely I was expecting more from Suzuki like a rear disk, fi engine and sleek tail with sporty riding posture but considering price tag and the things which it offers on board I have nothing to complain. I would like Suzuki to make something who can be fight with r15 and CBR.
Swapnil Sathe Me too...Your words are exactly as if worded from my heart....In the past there was a Shogun to defend from the assault of the RX100. Wonder what kind of warrior from Suzuki can stand up to the R15 and CBR150R
Bought this beast last week, on my birthday to be precise :D .. still can't stop watching YT videos of Gixxer lol. Just got past 220kms today, engine was little stubborn in the beginning but now it's silky smooth. Can't love it more :p
I went on a TRIP of about 180 kms and Went back today on my SF. It already went 1600 km when i started my journey so I did not hesitate to give it a go and wind it up. I clocked 120 km/hr while going in an overcast condition and didn't move or skid a bit. And while returning, the weather was sunny and i clocked 130 on speedo. And you can easily cruise in 115-120 km/hr forever. And i barely felt any heat in my legs, or felt any pain in my hand or back. So i cannot tell how much I'm impressed with my bike.
R15 v2.0 is way ahead of gixxer sf. It can go upto 140-145 kmph top speed. Accelerates from 0-100 within just 9-10 seconds! It has a more powerful engine at 17 bhp compared to just 15 bhp of gixxer sf. Yamaha R15 is also the best at cornering which makes it an overall race ready bike which produces the highest amount of torque in under 160 cc category bikes making the fastest accelerating bike. The only competition of R15 V2 is Honda CBR150R gixxer sf should be compared to lower power bikes
For some odd reason I don't like it when these manufacturers just add a fairing to an existing naked model and exponentially increase the price. A very cheap tactic ! Yamaha did the same with FZ 16, FZ S, Fazer. And the cc does matter...atleast in this price segment it does !!
MrPranzoi And the Fazer didn't do so well like its naked counterparts, and the YZF-R15 v2.0 was also released with the same 150cc displacement...I really cry for a affordable Single-Cylinder Quarter-litre(250cc) Gixxer under 2lakh from Suzuki.
Krishna Prasath - The R15 engine is different .. You also get Liquid Cooling .. Fuel injection .. etc. . R15 engine is different than FZ .. hell it makes more power .. nut how would you know that right?
MrPranzoi well it's not just simple as adding a fairing. It does require other tweaking to counter the extra weight. The little addition in price is somewhat deserved. And this situation of fairing and non fairing is just an aftermath of the situation their bigger siblings started in their respective segments. In short 1 cannot tag this strategy as CHEAP coz it adds to the diversity of their product lineup.
rahulgosh1 I know R15's Engine is radically different than the FZ series. I was referring to the fact that the original R15's successor( It should be a single-cylinder 250cc ) did not have any increase in CCs.
PowerDrift Atleast I want to. Confused between gixxer sf and r15. Being an avid follower of your channel, it will be easier for me to make a choice between the two.
Like seriously I wait for companies to launch new bikes to just see ur reviews on it , u make my day guys ! Best reviews ever I have loved u guys since PTR
In fact that was the first thing that I noticed and felt weird, seeing no protective gears except the gloves. Having habituated to seeing you in full gear, it was like a sore thumb and Yeah you made a fantastic point~ the importance of safety when riding these machines ! Thanks that was a fantastic video Power Drift ! :)
PowerDrift Sarge thanks alot for that reminder regarding the safety gears.. Viewers really need it Cuz at 1st glance I was baffled to have you ride a bike with just the helmet on.... Keep it going.... Amazed by the package offered at that price..
Amazing comeback. I was seeing an old trend being repeated in all your videos. This was DOPE though! Including the comments, the portrait look of Sagar with the bike at the background. A lot of talking instead of bragging. You guys made sure to make a comeback with a BANG statement.
6 years of ownership review. Model: Gixxer sf red dual disc Odo: 104500, daily commute 60km Modifications: none Top speed after 6 years: 114 kmph Bike remains stable in highways, no matter what direction windblast comes. Avg: 40-42 kmpl Verdict: loved it! Missing abs.
There are some common issues for gixxer sf : 1) bike lock issue. Bike may get automatically stopped. 2) front fairing around the head lamp may get crack mark automatically due to misalignment some internal parts underneath of it , 3) poor and thin paint job. Need to take special care 4) unavailabilty of bike wash service at authorized service centre due to Sunday/man power issue / machine not work .use of ariel for washing bike makes it dull in long run 5) refill tyre during servicing without checking existing tyre pressure. They usually refill tyre pressure with 45 in front and 55 in back which much higher than recommended 29psi front and 33 psi back. 6) delayment in bike registration , CF and insurance policy renewal due to man made reasons.
naked gixxer 155c facing carb icing.. condense of carburetor so much that water found on carburetor body... when checking mileage in service center found 55kmpl but when checking reserve to reserve m getting 44kmpl do u hear about this?
Your reviews are always so refreshing that I have viewed it for most of the bikes you have reviewed for multiple times especially KTM DUKE 390 even though I have KTM RC 390. POWERDRIFT is awesome :)
Guy once a fantastic job, thoroughly enjoyed the review, I am a big suzuki fan and I am very much happy with the job that suzuki has done, as you said a fuel injected, liquid-cooled, and even a 6-speed addition would have changed the game :-) . Thank you so much for giving us the most awaited (worth the wait !) video, and video editing is fantastic especially that graphic which turned the gixxer to gixxer sf, cool ! Thanks again
vicky vijay Yes it will, this is just the start. Suzuki at the moment seem to be striking all the right chords. Well, there is a lot more coming from Team PD. Stay tuned ;)
So well as PD army just said..it won't harm if we wait a little more..More power is gonna come soon for that fairy version!! Taking fan comments into video..that was one fricking awesome idea ;) Good review sagar and as always good music -the part which i luv most
PowerDrift thanks brother.. Just need 1 info .. Is that true whether Yamaha have any plans to launch their baby bike MT 125 in India ?? Becoz dat's gonna be one awesome stunt machine to buy !!
Guys I already got the bike! Its Awesome and i can vouch that the fairing helps big time in highway, There is no heat in stop and go traffic. I have clocked 125Kmph by proper cocooning. Initially the navigation in traffic was hard, But, As time passed things have seemingly become better! And once again Kudos to the video guys, The graphics and editing was awesome! Love the review!
PowerDrift No offenses meant bro I do understand the speedo reading can often be wrong as in case of many bikes. I was just trying to help anyone who wants to buy the bike by letting them know that the fairing is more than just a cosmetic upgrade. And anyone looking at my comment, I agree 100% with power drift, the speedo reading can be wrong most of the time... Ride safely and with the protective gear, I recently met with an accident and the gear was there to save me with minimal damage!
Sriram lal What is the mileage u r getting right now in the city? i have already booked mine but they are not able to deliver before 30days...its really scarce right now..
Hi Powerdrift....thanks for all the previous reviews..they were pretty informative. I was wondering if you guys could quickly come up with a review of Suzuki Gixxer SF Fi. Does it take the game forward?? Thanks and keep up the good work. Peace!!
Thnx for the video powerdrift especially Mr. Sagar Sheldekar. Great review solved all my queries regarding sf. You guys are getting better day by day. Was missing Mr. Rohan. Also, the music was nice, please upload a top music video. Thank you PD!
@power drift. it's been 2 years now and the gsxr 150 is out. can't wait for your extensive review. also thank you for this review of the gixxer because i bought it because of this. no regrets. 2 years on and it still runs like brand new. even faster now. shhhhh. lol
No daunt another zakassssssssssss review by#PD army I want to buy gixxer sf after watching this video (movie) I am confused between black color or white color
Its true that in a country like india the youth wants looks rather than its performance but dude performance matters alot... NIce work again.Keep on going #PDArmy
1. Suzuki ..so u can always trust the reliability of the engine 2. Its engine is high revving n smooth.. 3. Tyres r sticky..so i think the bike is safer than pulsar 200ns having poor eurogrips ..Main question is...Is the bike fun to ride like pulsar 200ns ...considering cornering ability too..?
The bike looks great and the pricing is really affordable for such a sexy bike! One thing I wonder is who in the world dislikes PowerDrift videos! PowerDrift is the best! Totally loved the video!
Thank you very much for this nice review. I have a hero hunk, which is just a few months old and it gave me allot of engine trouble and I had to claim the warranty and get a new set of rocker arms. and again the same trouble starts again. I'm going to buy a Suzuki gixxer sf.
Ha loved your video, just wanted to know in 150 cc segment which one is better gixxer sf or fz2.0 or CB hornet, for daily raiding in traffic and occasional long drive, really will appreciate your opinion soon
Team PD , The awesome review ! I have been following you guys since a 8 Months now. You guys are best at reviewing any bike. coming to the bike ! Suzuki has surprised me with the SF specially with the Paint job and the Race track sticker. Hope to see a good Bike in 250CC category from Suzuki! Ride Hard. Be safe !
I've been following PowerDrift for quite a while, the videos you guys make really rock they are awe inspiring. This Gixxer SF is really striking in its fully-faired MotoGP inspired paint job. but anyway I've fixed my mind and I am going to buy a Metallic Blue Naked Gixxer soon. I'm a Suzuki loyalist, we currently have 3 Suzuki bikes, IND-SUZUKI AX100(1984)(JAPAN), TVS-Suzuki MAX100R(2002), TVS-Suzuki Fiero(2000). So after Suzuki parted away from TVS and came their own way in India, they really had no Exciting bikes to stimulate enthusiasts like us. But the launch of the Gixxer last year sparked off new excitement. And now with the launch of the Gixxer SF Suzuki is really pushing hard to make a mark seriously in this extremely competitive segment. Due to the added weight, I thought the Gixxer SF will fall behind the naked gixxer in both performance and fuel-efficiency aspects. But a fe figure of 47kmpl over the naked gixxer's 40kmpl and a higher top-speed is really surprising. I'm really curious and like to believe this is due to the more aerodynamic stance of the Gixxer SF. I heard that Suzuki has done extensive wind-tunnel testing on the Gixxer SF's aerodynamic bodywork...don't know if its true. PS: Sagar Sheldekar your comments are absolutely spot-on. And whoever does the editing job on the PowerDrift Videos must be gifted with some special talent.
Krishna Prasath The only thing lacking in that collection is the mighty Shaolin. Can we steal the AX? Oh we mean can we lay our non-stealing hands on the AX?
Krishna Prasath Wow! That is a delectable line up you have there mate! Envy! :P Yes, the SF has undergone wind tunnel testing like we have shown in the review & the higher top speed is due to the aerodynamic body of the SF. Spot on there! P.S. Our editors just sported a mile long grin there! :)
PowerDrift Sure, why not?. That AX100 is still in near-perfect operating condition and has that 'MADE IN JAPAN' tag tattooed all over it. Its our first bike an we have it for nearly 29 years now, so it has a special place in my heart forever. Also, I'm not content with just the Shaolin, I need The Boss also...Mr.Shogun.
PowerDrift Thanks you guys really rock in every video...The kind of the presentation you are doing is really world-class. My most favorite PowerDrift video currently is the PowerDrift Special Episode about the Indian Racer CS Santhosh.
I just discovered your channels and you are doing a fantastic job. Good content will and stories will always win. You are the upcoming Indian Top Gear.
By the way I landed here because of my niggle to buy a mid range bike. Almost settled on benelli 600i. Mostly city riding with few trips out on the highway. Pending my finance planning.
Er6n was a contender, but its quite smallish for a 6'2" frame. I test rode the street triple, but needs much more mullah. If I can get an orchestra like 600i in 6, why look further. :)
I am now just trying to rule out the 302 ;) I do have a question, i felt a lot of wind blast on street triple north of 120. Is it similar on 600i or there is protection.
I ride Suzuki Gixxer SF, Want to upgrade my bike so can you suggest? Suzuki Gixxer 250 is not yet launched in India so where should I go? KTM ? Ninja? or What... I ride my bike in the city as well as long rides so please suggest accordingly ...
PowerDrift I have shortlisted Ninja 400 and R3. Also if I would tight my budget I would be thinking about Akula and last option KTM 390. Please suggest which bike is best budget bike or if you have any other suggestions in the same segments please do let me know. These bikes are shortlisted after watching your review videos although Ninja 400 review was not same as other no road , track attraction, still found informative... :)
> did you notice that part where I was riding on the street with nothing but a helmet. Umm... your shoe laces were also undone ;) Good reason to lose ground when you plan to foot down and oops its stuck at the brake/gear levers :) Nice video again PD. It sure looks good in blue motogp colors.
Hi my name is Yash and I have always been a Japanese model lover especially the Yamaha, Honda and Kawasaki. You guys are just amazing and being a hardcore Yamaha fan I just would like to ask you why are you not making a review on the new r1 and the R1M as this has always been a lengendary bike in the 1000cc segment. I just hope you could make a video on it too.😊
Hi PowerDrift ...I decided to go for Gixxer SF after a long wait and taking test drives with other competitors in this segment. But the day i visited the showroom to purchase i was given a choice of GIXXER SF FI or GIXXER SF ABS or GIXXER SF FI ABS . i know that ABS is a very good safety feature for safety and i am ready to opt for it but my only confusion was to go for FI or NON-FI version of SF . I heard that FI is good at working but when something goes wrong during a long ride or etc any local mechanic cannot help with this only an authorized service centre an do it and also any techincal issue will cost me lot. IS IT TRUE.....? Pls answer my Query ASAP and in brief if possible.........Thanks in advance
I've been following powerdrift from a very long time & I think powerdrift makes the best reviews (of bikes especially!) . Amazing video editing as always and perfect riding. The locations too are great! PowerDrift I'd like to suggest you a place called Charmadi Ghat, which is an amazing ghat section with marvelous corners! (Bet you'll love it) Thank you.
bike is very good...better than bajaj..wait for 2 months..they are launching sf with rear disc brake...otherwise bike is really very good...butter smooth..
Whenever there's a new launch in the performance motorcycle segment in India, I almost always find myself waiting with bated breath for PoweDrift's take on it. And every time I'm watching one of your videos, i keep wishing for it to never end. Every new video is something new, something great. Keep up the good work guys.
