The full fairing makes it look so much better than the 8S. Its a great engine as well, i love its low down torque and real world usability. If i were in the market for this style of bike i'd be taking a serious look at this one.

I just bought the blue one. I'm going to put a small Katana sticker on it. I know it's not a real Katana but I used to have one back in the 90's so it will be my little nod to it. Suzuki should have called this a Katana IMO. Ride safe everyone!

A powersports dealer near me in Florida, USA is selling the 8R for $8500 when the normal price from Suzuki is $9400 USD so if I wanted those accessories I would basically be paying the normal price from Suzuki. I dont need heated grips in Florida though.

The best looking of the Suzuki 800s . Better display than the Triumph Daytona and probably more features too . Pity about the stacked headlights , they look very cheap . Very smart in Silver and Red .👍

Out in all weathers on a bike for all weather 👍👍. Yes! A Fox's Glacier mint. I haven't thought about those sharp edged spangles for many years 😁. Another good sports bike from Suzuki then 👍👍.

Tail tidy always improves look but if got Dain's favorite tyre hugger on & remove for tail tidy pays to put a fender extender on it you'll have dirt all up the back of your jacket that's why I got fender extender.

Stunning bike in my opinion and great for dealer to lend it in the wet. I have 8s it’s my 3rd twin and after 2800 miles it makes me smile even at legal speeds and I’d expect more of same for 8r.

I had a sit on one today, very comfortable, maybe more so than the super soft Ninja 650 position. Didn't like the blue, that silver looks so much better 👍

thanks for the review in the weather lol, that's dedication. I looked at this bike and compared it to the honda cb750 hornet which i think is a big competitor as well as the daytona, and no doubt this is a very good looker, but i went for the hornet, as apart from more power it's much better value for money. I negotiated a sports pack (including quick shifter) FOC amongst other things, and paid £7299 OTR, and when compared to the £8,899 for the suzuki it just seemed a stretch too far. At the end of the day you pays your money and makes your choice, and i'm very happy with mine, but had i gone for this, doubt i'd have many complaints.

Great video...very noble effort in such horrid weather!! Looks a splendid bike...very tempted to try one...being an old bloke who loves tradition would have to be blue one...As I recall the Daytona has bit more power and probably lighter but Suzuki better spec and smoother gearbox and quick shifter...

Hi what a terrible day for reviewing a bike taym rather you than me I think that’s a nice looking bike Suzuki have got some nice bikes out now my favourite would have to be the busa obviously but also the gsx s 1000 xr is that right such a job to remember such a brain overload and as you say orwells are a great dealers I’ve had 4 bikes from them very happy with there service and staff are great ride safe

Such an improvement with the fairing,naked isn’t shabby,but very nice,you drive the speed you want TAYM,don’t have to ride like a hooligan to enjoy motorcycles,some of my most enjoyable rides are sensible ones.

Daytona arrives in NZ 🇳🇿 at end of month & NZ 🇳🇿 getting both LAMS version & full power version too.Also a Slippery Sam Trident 🔱 660 is meant to be coming out with fairing like the 1970's Slippery Sam had.

I remember Spangles well, but only the cherry flavour - the cola ones were vile! Look forward to your dry test, there's a full Akra system available that gives +5~6 bhp.

Your test riding all these different bikes even in the rain and giving your reviews Taym must be like visiting different sweet shops. Problem is, you become spoilt for choice I am sure. The GSX 8S looks a nice bike but, it's not going to be very comfortable for Mrs Taym. I have just traded in my T100 for a new Honda Cb500x and I love it. 😊👍🏍

You're a true adventurer taking out a demo bike in such heavy rain, I must say I think that the fairing softens the look of the front end. I can't see Mrs TAYM parking her petite derrière on that razor blade of a pillion seat though 😲😱😂 As for making a tourer I'm not so sure 🤔 that was the drawback with the GSX1000F it's rear sub-frame wasn't strong enough for a pillion and or top box and panniers. Even Kawasaki recommend one or the other not both on a few of their models, which in my opinion is a bit short sighted.

Had a ride up to Appleyards today, disappointed to find out they didn't have the GS8S naked version ready to test ride, just the R version, seeing as it was a Suzuki test weekend 🙄, Can't understand these people expecting you to risk your licence on a video review? 😅 Are they daft or what? 🤪 At least it was better weather up Yorkshire than you copped for , another soggy vlog eh? Great review 👌 Are you using the QS in low gears 1-2? I just use the clutch mainly in traffic. QS in mid to high loading.

I do think it’s a nice looking bike- though Yamaha r7 is prettier if more radical according to the reviews. Kudos for getting out in that weather.

I like the older 4cylinder Suzukis 😁 but guess times change and this is a good looking bike that seems to handle well and has power in the right places for real world riding in modern day traffic etc 😁 thanks S 😁

Daytona won't have Quick Shifter stock be a upgrade like Trident 🔱 & Tiger 🐅 660 which cost $630nz(£300) & same with Tyre Pressure Sensors $500 & Triumph Connectivity & module $750.I got the Quick Shifter & frame sliders,bobbers & was broke after that but heated grips & the Tyre Pressure Sensors be great to have the Triumph Connectivity I wouldn't use. Still the Daytona with just the Quick Shifter upgrade & frame sliders,bobbins cost me a extra 1k but was well worth it & if lived down South Island would of got Heated grips. Some 765 models come with Quick Shifter & other extras stock.Daytona is 17k 1k more than Tiger 🐅 660 but it has twin 4pot brakes up front compared to Trident 🔱,Tiger 🐅 660 twin pot brakes & better rear monoshock.

I bet you felt like a glacier mint on a wet day like that! Great in the silver, not 100% on the red wheels. Love to see a back to back with the screaming Daytona which is another great looking bike. Spoilt for choice!🤔

You Definitely need a Second Ride on this Suzuki on a Warm Dry Day, so you can work the Quick Shifter. I hear it's a Very Smooth Engine Due to having Two Counter Balance Weights in the Engine The Person Who Cleans the Demo Bikes at Orwell's Must be Very Busy will be it Ever Stop Raining?
