The K5 and K6 ARE the BEST !!!!!! This K9 is slow as hell. Suzuki even added another tooth on the rear sprocket to 43 starting in the K7 model. They were trying to make it as quick as the K5 and K6 model.......... NOT !!!!!!!! I did switch to the K9 BPF forks. Hugh improvement with front end dive during heavy braking on the track. I also installed the L13 front Brembo calipers with Vesrah SJRL-XX pads Now I'm in LOVE all over again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Somewhere after 2006 model Suzuki lost the plot with more weight, more exhausts. The 2005/6 models remain the fastest production motorcycle ever made and Suzuki has never got its current GSXR's back there; I just hope they don't go silly and start putting on traction control and all the garbage that ducati and bmw clip on to make their bikes competitive. Keep is simple Suzuki and reissue the K5/K6.
reissue the K5/K6... with some update ..but not to many..please put all traction control and all the garbage in the bin just get a bike right from the start
Is not that i disagree but i had all the versions since k5. Had the k6 the k8 and a k9 2010 now the 2017. Removing the exhausts with a good 4:2:1 racefit and a power commander with a rear more racey shock the k9 will kill the k6 even with a k6 with same mods. K6 engine is a beast of torque though stock to stock. But it steers horrendous vs the k9 it doesnt manage its power that good . Frame sucks. Suspension and swing arm is at best bad. Brakes..well haha. K6 feels plastic vs the k9. Basically k9 is a fully updated k6 they just moved the power more up high which you can easily unlock thar k6 feeling torque with yoshi type s cams K8 is a different animal i find it less of a machine vs the k6 but much more of a bike. Same mods on the k8 will get you between 3-4hp more than k6 and k9. Weird i know. But k7 k8 is the bike which gave the innovation for the k9 to make it more revving without loosing the k5 k6 daily character. K17. I aint convinced yet is a better machine than the k9. In my book k5 will always be the start of it all the big papa. But evolution never stops and i had the same.doubts when i got the slightly used 2010 gixxer back on 2013. But is a beautiful bike upclose and so beast of a machine when tuned with a mere not more than 1.5k euros on slipons stage one I talk purely on street racing and daily commute not track days i dont do track days with gixxers. Those animals love to be street kingpins. 2017 model a bit more track oriented than k9 but with a daily street character suzuki herritage
@motorgeeek You could modify this bike and it could. Or there are also bikes like busas that can hit higher speeds. But personally, I'd take a gixxer over a busa anyday.
Well... not really... technically it is behind it's competitors... BUT! It's just hot and pure fucking fun and adrenaline! And that's why I love her...
