That's a great showing for an airbox mod with no exhaust. Really puts on display your skill and the bike's potential when you are pulling an extra 5hp before an aftermarket exhaust is even introduced into the equation. Thanks for the work that you do.
I received the arrow racing collector today, we are going to assemble it, and then put it on the dyno, reflashing with woolich racing, airbox modification and air filter. M curious, It's wonderful how you explain everything beautifully and neatly, great
No, not yet, but when I have it I will forward it to you. I live in Europe, Belgium. I loaned my ECU to Woolich Europe, so that they could read the ECU and create a tuning file. Now my engine is at the dealer and everything is being prepared to reflash it.
thank you, they will first put it stock on the test bench and test it, then all parts will be added one by one with test runs, after which the final adjustment will follow. I have a very good tuner here who has already done many engines for me. I'll keep you informed,@@vcyclenut
Does the full Akrapovic system only add 4bhp to the 85 hp that you have been able to get with the airbox mod and remap? Having a V Strom 800 DE I am very tempted to go ahead with this and keep the stock exhaust. I am not a fan of loud pipes. I live in the UK, can you reflash non USA ECU's as I have seen some other tuners will only do USA based bikes? Very interesting Videos
Yes. The main power adders are the intake mods and my flash Yes thats no problem. K do European ecu’s a lot and have return shipping rates on check out from the web site.
Already have a full Akra exhaust, oil filter for 1st service and even made my 1st loan pmt. STILL don't have the bike due to dealer having problems with the DMV. Will be looking for an ECU flash after i get 1000 Km on it.
I turn the fans on earlier so the bike stays cooler. As far as it running cooler because of the better fueling. I dont really have a way to measure that I have not tracked fuel mileage but it would depend on what intake and exhaust your running also .
Can you tell me why the bike doesn’t have full power in the lower gears, especially first and second? Is the timing retarded? What is the reason your flash didn’t bring full power in first and second, even though you made huge gains? BTW: posted this video on advrider 8s thread as I thought everyone there would like to see the impressive gains even on the stock bike. Keep up the good work.
Great question! Mostly has to do with gearing and how it multiplies the power from the motor to the back wheel Ideally for a dyno run we would have a 1:1 final ratio to test the bike at on a rear wheel driven dyno. When we are below 1:1 it reduces the power seen at the wheel. When we have an overdrive final ratio or greater than 1:1 it increases the power seen at the wheel This is one reason we see power drop as we go down in gears. When we get down to 1st and second gear. We also run into a situation that with the short gearing and spinning the drum on bearings there isn’t enough load on it to accurately measure the output. It’s consistent , as in if i test the same set up repeatedly in lower gears i will keep getting the same result but the number is inaccurately low. Does that make sense? Thank you for sharing my post!!
I want to send you the ECU for my Strom 800de but if I want to do a full exhaust eventually, I assume I'll need to get it flashed for the exhaust? Should I wait until I decide which exhaust to get to have the ECU flash done? Thanks
sweet! I would get the flash now for the stock bike so you can enjoy it. When you get the exhaust the reflash is free ,you would just have to pay for return shipping. This is always my policy. Reflashes are free for the original purchaser on the same ecu.
@@vcyclenut Do you know if there are block off plates available for this engine yet? What about an evap can delete kit? I'd really like to get rid of that giant evap can...
@@sweatmachine69 the ais/pair looks like a unique size and its in a tough location to get to on the front of the motor In the flash i can disable the code and im going to provide a cap to block off the ais line from the airbox when i send back ecu’s after flashing them . I will be uploading a how to video in the next couple days. Its what i did and i am getting zero popping The evap I can disable the code so you dont get a check engine light if you want to remove it.
