If there was a specification for that measurement, it would be in the service manual… I have yet to see any definitive instructions on how to install the bearings…however, the hayabusa wheel has a shoulder for the left and right bearings, where you would expect the the bearings to sit up against… in most cases that I have seen the inner tube spacer is generally around 0.7 to 0.8mm longer than the bearing housings… it is key for the sprocket side bearing to sit up against the shoulder, as to align the rear sprocket with the front sprocket.. if the brake rotor is not dead centre in the calliper, it’s not critical as the pistons can float to meet the rotor… A few years ago an 2017 FJR1300 came in for a front tyre change, which I did without issue… however, when I tightened up the axle nut, the wheel locked up… now I understood why the wheel nut was slightly loose when I removed it… I removed the wheel and bearings and found the inner tube spacer 1mm longer than the shoulders… after careful measurement, I shaved off 1mm from the spacer, and reinstalled new bearings, and the wheel went together without incident… on tightening up the axle nut, the wheel spun freely… I now do this on a regular basis, I install the sprocket side bearing, measure the distance to the other shoulder, and shave off the difference from the spacer… it’s perfect every time.. I know crazy right, but it works every single time… but when pressing in the second bearing it’s difficult to determine whether you’ve gone too far or not enough… perhaps heating up the wheel to 300 degrees C, then just drop the bearing in till it touches the spacer… anyhow, can you please tell me the name of the neat gun you’re using ? I realise this is an old video, so you might not even read my comment… thanks…

Going through my first bearing change now. Was able to use a 5/8 concrete anchor to grab onto the bearing and fashion up a homemade bearing puller. Will be using heat while using my homemade bearing seating tool.

Why not to use reverse hammer with 30-32mm expandable head? Way much better option than welding
