On first service I used .08 and they were way too loose and the bike ran terribly. Now I have to do it again. .003 is correct? Is it a mm to inch thousandth conversion?

That is a common sign of bad piston rings Lucully on this bike its not that bad to fix.

@@jettran4465 but sometimes the painting is way of the mark - LOOK for the mark not the painting - and adjust your valves in pairs so they are the same and dont adjust to the minimum - they get tighter the more miles .... the tight onet you have will be even tighter next time you look
