roger70 .....I hope I didn't confuse you....As there are 2 of them and the float bowls are underneath I found them difficult...but please take photos every 10 seconds and should be fine. I have yet to reassemble so more videos to follow.....my choke cable for one carburettor was stuck and cable rusted through so I was glad I disassembled them...
Thank you kindly for this video good sir 🙏 Also at about 1:20 , I'd recommend replacing the gaskets and possibly O-rings. My front carb leaked lots of fuel right after I put it all back together 😬
Thanks....I will take your advice...when I dismantled the whole thing I found one choke mechanism with the cable broken and the plunger stuck in the hole...
Hello ,Wow!! Brings back some memory's of knuckle banging on my Sv . I had just been watching some of Tamsins videos and that led me here. That spare tube with the black bung is for carb balancing. Very important to fit a length of new hose on it while its on the bench then connect your ( carb tune to it ) when setting up, as the front one is inaccessible when fitted back on the bike. You can cap it off when finished and tuck it away inside the fame - ready for next time you need it.. Carry on the good work, waiting for the next vids .👍👍
Bob Dewsbury ......Thanks for your advice Bob....hope you didn't mind the bumbling along videos but I wanted to explain simply although as you can see if you watch more of my videos I often get the names wrong but that's part of the fun....Will be doing more soon once we have warmer weather.....
Please purchase jis (Japanese industrial screwdrivers to do this job!)They are a little different from Philips or pozi drivers!Otherwise you will ruin the screws!
Thankyou for the advice....I'm changing all the screws to a different style bolt head...neither JIS or Phillips...refurb means I automatically change them....hope u like the video...I have yet to reassemble.....so lucky I nade the video so I remember
Will you ruin it if you're careful? Never heard of this JIS screwdriver need. I tried to google for more, but only found JISPHx heads. I see them being a bit slimmer. What would I need for the right set as an all rounder, you have any link for reference? Only PH kind, or there are others, e.g. torx kind, too?
Hi....could you tell me exactly which needle...which SV650..year..miles...and if there was some problem before taking apart the carburettors......my bike was running fine but discovered only one choke was working when I dismantled it.....
@@roymichaeldeanable I was meaning the pin that the float pivots on it was in there really good I ended up using a penetration fluid and it took a few hours but it finally came free... Thanks for the response tho I appreciate the willingness to help
Guitar Demo Vlogs ....Could you tell me more....?.....does the float itself move up and down....?.....it is a bit fiddly to push them out....have you tried gently trying to push them from either side.....?....if its corrosion you could try PlusGas or something similar....keep spraying a little every day for a week or more....let me know....roy
Roy Dean i ended up spraying it with wd40, was very careful not to get any elsewhere only on the pin. I let it sit for a few minutes then it came out with force. What makes iit hard to push out is the placement of one of those metal rods coming out right behind the pin.
Guitar Demo Vlogs .....WD40 won't cause any issues if the carburettor is covered with it....you have to be careful with that area of the carburettor as its quite a delicate mechanism...do you have the Haynes Manual.....always a good idea to have a Manual for each bike you own....
