Just a short ride on a 2018 Suzuki V-Strom 250. I am sorry for the low camera setting and the extra noise from the microphone shifting in my back pocket. Will adjust the camera next time and I will adjust the microphone. If a motorcycle has a louder exhaust, the movement of the mic in my pocket is heard less.

Had the DL650, loved it but was getting too heavy in my old age, so went for the DL250 and its perfect, such a cracking little bike, plenty of torque to get you round quick enough, and a good RPM on the faster roads too, love it

Good enough for urban roads, a bit of freeway. But if you do a lot of freeway riding then the DL650 is better.

Is a great and practical bike.. Very comfy in the city and short distances, nimble and very ease to ride!! Nice one buddy.. yehp, the camera was a bit low hheehehe \m/

Comfy for in the city and short distances. Even longer can be done on this bike as long as you don't want to go that fast as the top speed is not that high. Camera was a bit too low, but the field of view on this cam also doesn't help me out.

I tried the 650 and 1000. Love them both, but Colleague has the new 650 Versys and it is improved compared to the one i drove. So i'm wondering how that one stacks up to the V-strom. Haven't tried the 250 yet, but i will leave that up to you ;)

I don't know the Versys 650 and V-Strom 650... maybe I should try both of them. Have been riding the V-Strom 650 35kW but too short to make a review. Maybe in the future.

I hope to get my hands on some similair bikes this year. Next weekend with a bit of luck the Suzuki scrambler 650. Already filmed some last year, but audio was f-ed up.

V-Strom 250! More upright position, more possibilities to take stuff with you, standard 12v connector for navigation and such.

Try both! But when you buy one, replace the IRC Roadwinner tires, they aren't that good.

I don't know, haven't looked in to it, but I'm sure you can find better tires for sizes 110/80-17 + 140/70-17 . Like Michelin, Bridgestone, Metzeler etc.

Around 110-115km/h is easy for the engine, going faster is no problem for the rider, but the engine is really working when you ride faster than 120km/h. For commuting it is fine, especially during rush hour. For long trips at higher speeds (120+) not so much.

Would you pick this bike or a Versys 300 for a trip from the Netherlands to Italy? Only drove the Vstrom and its only downside for me is it's low torque.

Red Dog Gaming neither. Also because of the torque. I'd pick the V-Strom 650 or Versys 650. :) Both A2 compliant.

If you are riding a 650 now, I wouldn't choose a 300 250-300cc allroad. In the 600-650cc displacements lot to find. You can go for older, like Honda Transalp 600, Suzuki DR650SE, Honda Dominator 650, Yamaha Tenere 660 (XT660Z or XTZ660) etc. or newer ones like Suzuki V-Strom 650, Kawasaki Verysys 650 etc.

After a 650, both may feel disappointing without making allowances for capacity. But if you travel at legal speeds & prefer economy without frustration at performance over distance, the V strom 250 develops 25 ps, & struggles over 70 mph, while the Versys 300 develops 40 ps, a whole 125cc engine more. The rev limiter doesn't cut in until 13000 rpm, & it can cruise at 85 mph at 10,000 which is where peak torque occurs. Maximum power is at 11,500, & it will see just over 100 mph. It is geared at 8.4 mph per 1000 rpm in top, which is how the tractability is achieved. It can also achieve 70 mpg +.

The Inazuma and this have the same engine, ¿What are the differences with more detail? what's i'll like of the inazuma are the twin exhaust than have the model, reminds me of the Honda CB250 Nighthawk twin, ¿What suzuki change in the engine, since both bikes have the same engine?. asking this with the intention of getting a vstrom as a final bike, actually using a Honda of 160cc, and this suzuki found it very attractive.

For as far as I know, for Europe the engine has been adapted so it is Euro 4 compliant (emission law for motorcycles, cars already need to be Euro 6 compliant I think), but no big changes compared to the Inazuma. They have the same top speed.

The cam on the V strom 250 DE is reputed to have a different profile to the 250 Inazuma , to concentrate on the range from 20 kph - 95 kph range ,of speeds which the bike will mainly be ridden in real world use . The bike will see top speeds around 135 kph ( 85 mph ) on clock ,but at the cost of high revs . It’s not good for any motorcycle to be ridden at it’s top speeds for more than the odd quick burst of speed or short sections of motorway . These 250 machines are meant for economic A to B riding at a moderate pace on public roads & the odd mild off road track ,not for racing or covering long motorway miles at constant speeds above 100 kph .
