I remember when the Versys first came out, a U.S. spokesperson cited statistics showing that most adventure bikes rarely travelled off-road, in fact he compared it to Land Rover's statistics. He then went on to state that adults wanted adventure bikes for the comfort gained from more legroom, so they designed an adventure bike for the highway.
Well, this is not a good made comparison unless you are repeating all the time, that this "similar" bikes are differently focused. As happy owner of Versys 650, I would need to upgrade it before try to compare to V-strom XT and ride attempt for real off-road... (exhaust engine chasssis guard, crash bars, handguards, radiator cover... and off course change shoes - some kind of Metzeler Tourance). Then repeat such a review ;-) ...or rather compare Versys 300 with V-storm 250, this make more sense from the start.
Need more polished and more thought out script for reviewers.....you are not there to “ hunch” Versys might be faster or “ think ".....You are there to give facts and figures.....Overdrive, if the same review in the same language usage is out in your magazine, you would have lost your readers.....Get quality reviewers who can talk fluently, to the point and have a serious conversation......please fire the guy who wrote the opening 5 mts.....That itself put me off!!!!!!
The V-Strom 650 XT is also a great bike, but can you tell me why the stock exhaust is so big, heavy & ugly. Its a very good adventure bike who is alone in a large price range; but Suzuki need to design a new front nose & a new head led lights as its so ugly & a new smaller stock exhaust would also be awesome. Common Suzuki: please do those changes, those improvements & i will highly consider an upgraded, improved, modified V-Strom 650 XT 2020 to upgrade my CB500X 2017. An aluminium bash plate would also be better then the actual plastic one.
This is good one, but we will have to wait a bit long before any actual ownership reviews pops up. We all know Kawasaki are known for high service cost and maintenance but people have said in different videos and blogs that the Suzuki might be pocket friendly for long term.
Oh yeah! This is what I was waiting for. I remember the Kawasaki 650 all bikes video. It was awesome. Hopefully this video kicks it as well. Commenting before watching. High Hopes. Anticipating Awesomeness.
The Kawasaki Versys 650 is a better bike but it’s not an off road bike, it’s a street bike; Kawasaki would need to do an Adventure version of it with spock wheels & an 19 inches front wheel. What we really need (let’s dream) : it’s a new Honda CB650X Adventure Sports or a new Africa Twin 650 cc. The new improved & upgraded CB500X 2019 also seem to be great even if it’s only a 500cc. The VStrom 650 XT is interesting but i’m not a Susuki fan.
I love the Versys but i think its a bike more street oriented with an adventure look. Ninja is a sport street bike & Z650 is a naked street bike. To became a real adventure bike capable off road : the Versys need modifications & upgrades, for example : a bigger front wheel like the VStorm650 got. I also love very much the new improved CB500X 2019; great upgrades by Honda; now its a real good budget adventure bike (great, fun & reliable).
Trekky Delirium : Got you.. But if I’d like do a to classification amongst these three, Versys is Adventure Tourer, Ninja is Sports Tourer and Z is a typical Street Bike..
That's a saree guard... Saree is a traditional attire worn by Indian woman ( mostly formal occasions), it has a long hanging piece of clothing that hands from the back of their traps till their ankles...so while sitting on the bike the piece of hanging cloth might make it's way into the wheel and cause the lady sitting behind to fall off the bike leading to an accident. Saree guard is a mandatory standard accessory in India but it's the first thing we remove after buying the bike...this was a test bike( hence the red number plate) and so it's still there.
Why didn't you highlight Suzuki V-storm's mere 4000 Kms Service interval ?? Touring ADV bike with such a short service interval is a very bad buy at any given price! This is the only let down for the V-storm which is otherwise a very good Pacakage :)
@@travisdonaldstanley6420 600 miles oil and filter change. 7500 Miles oil change and spark plug replace 15,000 miles oil and filter change, spark plug, engine coolant 22,500 miles - air cleaner element, spark plug, oil Dont have a link as reading my service manual in front of me. Thats the official but I'm doing oil and filter every 4k miles.
@@travisdonaldstanley6420 I can't actually remember the exact model. I got the one that game with the 55lt top box, no panniers. Had a few other extras - crash bars, hand guards, different screen etc Few vids on my channel about it. Recently picked up some givi panniers for it. It's an awesome bike
it's weird that in Europe it gets a 12.000 km service interval while in other parts of the word it gets only 6000, that's half ... I wonder what's the logic behind this
I don't get why the Japanese manufacturers still insist on shitty old front fork in 2019!!! It certainly can't be cheaper and better than the shittiest USD fork. Kawasaki did a great job with using USD fork in Versys.
*This video was on point!* The suzuki definitely caters to off-road enthusiasts better. But, going by the fact that most of the riding done during touring is on the tarmac (atleast 60-70%), the Kawasaki makes more sense. And if it were to be completely on tarmac, the Ninja 650 or Z650 makes for a stronger case, especially with throughly redesigned chassis set up.
the traction control is a huge bonus for vstrom in any case. and the z650 and ninja650 are unrideable on Indian roads. rather than enjoying the ride, you have to worry about the bottom scrapping of with just 130mm ground clearance.
@@aditya9600 Agreed on the traction control part. But that's not something which will hold you back unless it's wet. Also the Dunlop's are pretty good and it does help. And I don't find it's need for a mere 70 horses xD And about the ground clearance. Straight pipe it out xD + 35 - 50 mm clearance + Loud pipe saves life sticker. Tbh, it's not too bad. We've seen previous generation street triple owners getting used to it in past.
Z650 is a pocket rocket...times when you are powering through the gears and even in third gear ur wheel wont touch the ground makes u smile and love ur bike...we have couple of z650s in our group and it is always astonishing of how such torquey engine can pack in a small package...driving at 60 kmph in 6th gear will giv u an average of around 29- 30 kmpl that too on my versys 650...kawasaki's are reliable and u wont find many people selling there versys coz they love them...
@Abhimanyu : Not sure what made you snooze.. In spite of not being a hard core Motorcycle enthusiast, I was very much awake.. Probably “Motorcycle Reviews” are not your Cup of Tea/Coffee ?
@@sathishrao7926 Thanks for your introduction "hard core Motorcycle enthusiast." But the point that I am trying to make is this video is boring AF and there are other better "Motorcycle Reviews" than, this one.
i own exactly the same v strom..... and before buying it tried the two bikes at the dealer , the kawa and the strom...... believe me i bought the suzuki..... and i m in love with this v strom now.... for real .. this is a amazing bike
Can u plz reduce the background music I am here to read the thoughts and not ur music For music I can play mtv very well Literally I cannot here what th guys speak
Put a compressor on the music track, turn on the side chain and select it’s source from your microphones bus. Aka, make both your mics go into a single channel that will then duck the music when dialogue is happening.
Off topic question - Why do many of the reviewers I've seen (Power Drift, Motor Beam, Auto Car India, etc.,) use safety gears from Alpinestars, Dainese, Arai, HJC, AGV but not the brands like Rynox, Solace, LS2, MT? Many riders suggest brands like Rynox, Solace, LS2, MT to new riders since they offer good protection for better price.
Worst review they made the bikes look ugly, riding on side of the road is off-road and commenting looking at bike. Power drift review by Sergei on versys 650 is cult any day
Anupam Saha Benelli has cut down its service cost by 32% now the service intervals for all the bikes is 6000km or 6 months . Plus they will offer 5 years unlimited km warranty with the bike 🏍
abhay verma no offence bro but you look really ugly on motorcycles consider loosing wieght, also not safe, i had a laugh when you tried to corner, also this review is just sad to look at please take a look at the competetion and up your quality
its not oblective your video, the fact that you live in india doesnt mean vstrom is better choice, perhaps you need motocross.in which more civilized countries the road dominates most better choice for me is versys!
Which one is easier to work on and more reliable? I had a zx14 and was impressed how I could do everything.....even changed the tires....I refuse to take my bike to a mechanic
off road?? i didn't see any . You guys haven't touched the surface of what is called off road. The V-Strom is much more capable off the tarmac but none is shown. Learn how to do a ADV review.
@@flifluflofli I have already done enough offroading . Thats why i'm commenting. If you're happy then keep watching, nobody is stopping you. Keep fantasizing these clowns in your wet dreams 🤣🤣🤣
Hey guys, just saw this video, considering these two bikes. Very helpful and detailed, thanks for that. But...just have to say, the Versys is not made for off-road, full stop. It's just not, so there's really no comparison there. Thanks!
