Nice of you to say it's better than the Versys, yet offer ZERO comparisons as to how it's better. Please make an *actual* informative video instead of just shilling.

The V-Strom and Versys have completely different roles and personalities. The Versys 650 is a sport touring bike, basically a tall and comfortable sport bike, it is not well suited to riding in dirt, but on a twisty paved road it will run circles around a V-Strom. The V-Strom is a 650 class ADV bike, and is quite at home in the dirt and still handles decently on road. Engine wise, they feel very similar, the V-Strom has 2 more hp, but the Versys is about 10KG lighter, the powerband on both bikes is almost the same. I happen to own a Versys 650, and I've ridden both the V-strom 650 and V-strom 1000 (I really like the 1000, much sportier feel than the 650). The Versys has a much sportier feel than the V-strom 650, it is super flickable and corners like a sport bike, to me at least the V-strom 650 has a fairly soft feel to it and while it definitely is quite flickable it also felt like it was on stilts. I would definitely feel more comfortable taking the V-strom into the dirt though, the Versys is not happy on dirt.
I'm currently in the middle of a two month trip from Seattle through Mexico including Baja, CA. Pros: If you keep your speed down to 60mph or a little less, you can get 55-60mpg. Very smooth engine, enough torque to pull into a fast busy interstate. However, I upgraded my front sprocket to 16T, and that dropped the RPM exactly 250. Not much if any change in MPG. Handles nicely in the curves, only off road I've done so far is at very slow speed in slippery mud so not much to comment on that so far. Very comfortable seat, but I'm only 5'8", so I added 1" up and back bar risers. Nice display, all the info you need. Negatives, no acc. position for the key, and also it's possible to remove the key accidentally in the Park position and kill the battery so be careful. The biggest negative is the front brakes. Very weak. I'm going to look into a four pot and steel braided upgrade when I return.
Very good review. Suzuki should address the major bugbears people have with the V Strom 650 (both XT and non-XT): 1) replace the 1960s cockpit and surrounding plastic with more modern design. No need for fancy riding modes, etc. Just decent TFT/LCD with design that is easy on the eye. 2) windscreen that is adjustable by hand pull/push anytime you want it, instead of using screwdriver. 3) LED headlight + DRL to replace the halogen bulbs. Maintain the oval shape of the headlamp, but make its surface flatter (less jutting out) Everything else about the bike are just so right.... the engine, fuel economy, ease of riding, the beak, the side & front profiles - i think it's quite a looker, really... Do these and the V Strom 650 will gain a lot more buyers and devotees..!
The people who commenting about splendor and hero jet I think they can't ride bikes. Availability of kawasaki spares and service centres is very low in India. Thats why we have preferred Suzuki.
Glad to know that VSTROM650 launched in India, which will definitely prove to be a great success story for SUZUKI, *as it is nothing but a tweaked version of a SV650, absolute favorite worldwide which was never launched in India but Suzuki India must consider introducing to our market.*
I actually own one of the last model.....it also made me a Real fan of this bike and of Suzuki.....this is trully a very very good bike....in fact...the best bike i have ever had
Lovely bike. Looks neat and proportional, less intimidating, price coULD have been a bit lower. But those golden rims, boy are they a treat to look at.

Hi Faisal, I am trying to find reviews on the expenses for the servicing of this bike. The first year, second year along with break up of the charges and the parts which tend to wear and tear. Please advise
That is not what a radial tyre is. You can have non-radial tyres (bias tyres) which are tubeless! It has radially constructed plies under the rubber that gives it flexible side-walls. This means there is more contact on the tarmac, cushioning on undulations and also it doesn't deform at high speeds. Please don't give an answer if you don't know the answer.
The V-Strom 650 XT is a great bike, but can you tell me why the stock exhaust is so big, heavy & ugly. Its a very good adventure bike who is alone in a large price range; but Suzuki need to design a new front nose & a new head led lights as its so ugly & a new smaller stock exhaust would also be awesome. Common Suzuki: please do those changes, those improvements & i will highly consider an upgraded, improved, modified V-Strom 650 XT 2020 to upgrade my CB500X 2017. An aluminium bash plate would also be better then the actual plastic one.
