SV Ramble On | Cutting a Hole in the Mast and Installing New Halyards

We had an extra sheave at the top of the mast, but this boat never had a halyard on it since there wasn't an exit point for one. We decided we'd like an extra halyard if we get a spinnaker. So Rich did a little research on cutting holes in the mast and we figured it would be best to put the new exit hole about 1' above all the other exit holes.
Once that was done, we fed the new halyard over the sheave and out the hole. And while we were at it we decided to put in a new main halyard as well.

Thanks for sharing an important running rig. Would be nice to see how the block roller is rigged at the top of the mast. I have a spare halyard exit that I'd install a spare halyard line to use for a storm sail or a safety line for climbing the mast.
