Hi Jennifer I have been struggling with my computer I have downloaded some file's but don't know how to get it to my cricut, it been a while since I've used a computer and I not a expert at it either, I was hoping to start a job making thing for people and film on RU-vid but I think it's not going to happen, and I have wasted all this money for nothing!! 😑💔
Did you ever make a video on how to make your own SVG creation? What software you used? An example on how to make an SVG? I would like to make my own creation. And I know we can do letters but what about Japanese words? Can or how do I do that?

Hi Jennifer! This was a great tutorial. I already know how to do this but sometimes I need a refresher. And its great that you gave instructions for many platforms. Most of the crafters that I follow on RU-vid use Apple products and don't provide instructions for us Windows users. I look forward to the next video :)

Jennifer, you are so wonderful to put this series together for those of us who are technically challenged. I tend to make things harder than they need to be. My husband bought me a new Cricut Maker for Mother’s Day last year. I was too intimidated to get past the practice card! It has sat there for almost a year because I didn’t know how my computer talked to my Cricut Maker. How sad! I appreciate your videos on SVG files, downloading, uploading, and giving me confidence. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I really appreciate you making this. I'm not new to cricut just new to design space. I still had my cricut with the cartridges but it just stopped working. I'm so lost with this one. Why is design space so difficult? I have a ton of cartilages and I linked all of them but I can't find them. I looked in cricut learn a d I went where that said they should be but they are not there. I thought I made a mistake so I tried linking again and it told me it was already linked. Ahh I'm having ruff time I wish I still had my old one. Again thanks for helping us newbies out 😅.
Reach out to Cricut Support to link your cartridges to your Cricut account and you'll be able to access them in Design Space. It's not difficult, it's just different, but you'll get the hang of it! 😊🌻

I just got a silhouette cameo 4. I've never had any cutter or anyting similar. I've not even used a computer in years! When my laptop died I bought a tablet! I recently bought a laptop and didn't pay attention and got a Chromebook. I hated it! Now I've got to sell it. 🤦 I did buy a nice refurbished laptop. I only want one for going online, watching RU-vid, word processing and now to to use my silhouette! I'm glad I found your channel. Not many people take the time to teach the stuff that's not flashy and pretty! Thank you! I'm sure I'll watch so many of your videos it won't be long until I've got to remind myself I don't really know you and you have no idea I exist! LMAO. It is a weird dynamic sometimes when you watch so many video of, say a beauty guru, and you watch them get ready nearly daily and they share their life with you, it's easy to forget they're a stranger and you're even more of a stranger to them than they are to you! 😉🤷🤦🙇

Okay. So I understand the process of layers, welding (eg 3 stars together) and am JUST getting attaching. But when it gets explained quickly during a process, I'm done...I think if I watch the video you did with the 4th July thongs on the t-shirt a few times with no disturbances - ie kids - I may get it a little better.

Holy smoke. This is just what I need. Not that I was able to retain all the information at once BUT at least I know how to get started. My Brother scan and cut has been sitting on my table since December. Did use it once just using a design already on the device. Still pretty intimated by it all. Love your site. What happens when some files do not unzip when you download them on your iPad. I had success with four but there are some that is still unzipped. What do I do to be able to upload them onto design space?
I also had absolutely no luck at all in windows. I downloaded some, extracted all and tried to upload in ds and got the message that I didn’t have any in the proper format. They were all svgs.
Sorry you're having trouble unzipping your files! In windows: To unzip the entire folder, right-click to select Extract All, and then follow the instructions. To unzip a single file or folder, double-click the zipped folder to open it. Then, drag or copy the item from the zipped folder to a new location.
VERY HELPFUL and VERY CLEAR steps on "how to" download SVG files. So happy I've been able to help you, Mary! You're right that you could use Inkscape on your iPad if you use Chrome Remote Desktop and install Inkscape on a computer that is also connected to Chrome Remote Desktop -- the only thing that might tricky to do is make curves.
Hi Jennifer. I am struggling with how to work with an SVG that I downloaded once I get it into Cricut Design Space. I'm a huge Disney fan but have run into some difficulty finding pre-made Disney SVG's since Disney is very strict about using their characters. I love to make my own shirts and jackets with Disney characters and have figured out how to convert a google Image from jpeg or png to an svg but am finding it difficult once it's in design space to get the layers and colors involved for that dimensional look. It just shows my design as a cut file that is black and white but I want to add colors to different sections of the design. This is my biggest struggle.

Hello, I was so stuck on opening the files after downloading. I didn't understand why I was getting an error. This video helped me extract the zip files and now i have uploaded at least 15 svg files.
Thanks so much. I just wish that instead of grouping all the various ways together you would simply do one per video. It was somewhat confusing having to go through all the various Operating systems and search engines to actually get to the one that I specifically needed, Mac.

I made so many things with cardstock .I sold it to my daughter Then I seen the Cricut Explore Air 2. working with vinyl and now the mug press. My daughter just bought her first Cricut. I've got her hooked. I just love creating things. Still at 63yrs old.

I prefer to use svg files but I only have an iPad to work with an for some reason it won’t download svg files. I don’t have money to purchase a computer or laptop at this time. What do I do

I’ve been watching your videos to find out how to get the svg file for hair bows. When I got so far along after finding the file, my iPad was running out of space! These videos solved last night’s frustration. Cloud! I think that’s where my brain resides most of the time since I turned 70 seven years ago! Thank you! My iPad is in my had 10 to 12 hours a day! Thought I would have to use Mac or windows.
