I am showing you the tank bag and fitting it in Lehmans terms without the common mistakes people make. Here is the link for your convenience amzn.to/2TfvYJQ
Installed the same exact tank bag on my 2018 RT and 'It works a Treat'. Great installation video. The only two things I might add would be to state - 1) the drill bit to drill the holes in the bottom of the bag is supplied by the Manufacturer so no need to find / or buy a drill bit and 2) the tank bag does come with a rain cover provided so you can keep the bag contents dry. Like you, a prefer a minimalist look for my tank bag but additionally, everything I might need for immediate access fits perfectly in the space of this bag. 👍👍 Cheers. 🥂
I had them two things in the video but because people criticise me for taking to long I edited it out at the last minute. It's the one thing people hate me doing
Thank you I find using this bag ideal for me so far. I like to stay a little private as in the past I have had messages from people saying they spotted me that day. It freaks me out a bit to be honest
Thanks for the video. I watched it because I was curious about your opinion on it. I have the same tank bag. It works nicely. The only disadvantage of bags like these, is that they are vulnerable to dust. After riding the Dempster hwy in the Yukon (700 km go gravel and back) we couldn't get it off anymore to fill the tank. We had to take the baseplate apart and clean it. Getting it back to getter was quite a bit of a hassle. So if you do off-road riding, these might not be the way to go.,
Great help that thanks, the newer ones are slightly different in so far as you don’t have to do any drilling. Great tip on the screw lengths , I wouldn’t have picked up on that👍
Go for the Givi...no need to drill bags come in multiple sizes and less faffing! Just remember not to over tighten the 2 top most screws on the fuel cover otherwise it won't open... I should know!
The Givi tank rings are flimsy as shit... This is the reason I went with SW Motech on my bikes. I've had both and can tell you one wrong clipping or hitting the Givi ring sends it into pieces.
I have a Sport on the way to me for a bike which I'm yet to get a delivery date for which is a used H2 SX SE Perf. (though the Sport seems bigger than I anticipated having now seen a video of one actually on a bike - but I'm sure it'll be fine) & the method with the template here was explained very well; I saw another video which was quite wrong. Quite glad I watched this now. Thank you for the video 👍✌️
Hi Buddy Nice video I have just bought a r1250gs . Not yet on my hands. I am interested in a tank bag and, like you, I don't like big bags. So the questions are: all the things you put in the micro bag could it be on the pockets of your jacket? is the SW day bag too much and hang over the tank? can you put a small water bottle at your bag? have you any barback risers at your motorcycle? Can this be an issue to the position of the bags. Thanks for your answers
Hey Buddy enjoy your videos. Was planning with a colleague to travel to Turkey, after flying bikes to Heathrow riding to Turkey and back to Frankfurt then fly bikes back home. Its ver interesting proposal hence will be glued to you channel and see how you'll be doing, just one question though, how did you convince the missus going on this on trip?
Sorry, forgot to add too....warning to anyone using a larger tank bag. Make sure you have some protection for your tank - even with the ring, it will still rub. I had some heavy duty clear vinyl wrap added under the area of the bag, that worked ok.
Have been looking for a tank bag for my ZX14 (2008 model) for a while now so thanks for this. Thought your T shirt said NZ on it till I put my glasses on 😊
Ma786sai God Bless u. I loved your guidance. Have 5 bikes. A R1200GS 2006, 1150R 2005, K1200RS, R100RS, and a 2001 CBR1100XX Super Blackbird. The R1150R I just got and got this same smaller SW Motech Tank Bag. Cyrus India
looking for something similar for my 1250GSA - which shop did you go to ? Looking online is very helpful but I would like to see a few options in the flesh. Great vid, best of luck for the up-coming trip !
Andrew H I took a trip out to the adventure bike shop 3 hours away from me and had a look at everything. It was worth a look to compare products. Everything was priced sensibly 👍
Hi Buddy, thanks for the video. I bought a larger size (Motech) bag and ring for my 2017 1200GSA. I now agree with you that a large tank bag is detrimental to the feel of a good ride - I just kept putting up with it as I had convinced myself I needed it. I haven't tried the little one you have, and on the type of trip you're doing next, it may be suitable. I just found that the plastic locking lugs on the bag kept breaking (admittedly I do a bit of off-road, but expected this to be of a quality to cope) and dust in the mechanism just rendered it unworkable. I had to cart it strapped to the back of my bike for the last 500kms of dirt road (Aussie outback) on my last trip, until I got to a town where I could post it home. I won't bother to use the bag again, and feel much freer without it - and funnily enough all my gear still fits in, despite its absence ! Have to be envious of your ability to flit across to other countries so easily - we have great riding here, but are very isolated. A cheap ride-on ferry to NZ, and one to Singapore, would be great !!!!!!
