Dive into the quest of not only Vedanta, but all of spirituality. What is real happiness? How to we truly overcome suffering? Learn through Jnana Yoga (the yogic path of knowledge), delving deep into the ancient roots of self-enquiry.
This satsang series on the Drig Drisya Viveka is taught by Swami Sarvapriyananda, with humor, depth, and wisdom. The Drig Drisya Viveka is an Advaita Vedanta text attributed to Bharati Tirtha, containing 46 slokas of inquiry into the distinction between the “seer” and the “seen.” It will show you the major underlying principle of Vedantic philosophy and help you explore the inner workings of your own mind.
Swami Sarvapriyananda is the minister and spiritual leader of the Vedanta Society of New York. He joined the Ramakrishna Math and Mission in 1994, received sannyas ten years later, and served in the Hollywood Temple. He was the acharya of the monastic probationers’ training center at Belur Math, and also served as the vice principal of the Deoghar Vidyapith Higher Secondary School. He regularly gives retreats and spiritual talks throughout the United States.

Swami Vivekananda said he was a forerunner paving the way for a generation of "spiritual giants" (his exact words) that would spread his teachings and lead humanity towards awakening.. No doubt that Swami Sarvapriyananda is one of those great masters envisioned by Swamiji Vivekananda.. 🙏🌷

How can we consider the inanimate things are existing.. conscious and bliss ... please explain ..I want to know

The inanimate things are acting and reacting in their own way. A rock ‘acts’ and holds itself together as a rock, and reacts as a rock when it is acted upon by other forces. It is conscious, just on a more subtle level than plants, which are conscious on a more subtle level than animals, etc.

In the Vedanta society of California video, Swami ji said that conciousness shines up on mind and chidabhas produced. Now he is saying that conciousness shines up on EGO. Which one is correct?? Please reply if someone knows
@sivanandabahamas
@sivanandabahamas 3 года назад
Om Namah Sivaya Dear blessed Self, Both are correct. Chid = Mind and abhas= reflection. Brahman, pure consciousness absolute uses matter; the mind which is of a very subtle matter, to be available for recognition. The ego is a modification of the mind; Anhankara. The mind will reflect Brahman as well as the Gunas which is why purification is needed to witness and claim the pure consciousness as the Self. I'm not Swami ji but I hope this helps om

Swamiji, you said that after we dream we go to the state of deep sleep. But mostly I dream and then wake up. Because of the dream also I am forced to wake maybe because of fear or some other feelings. Then do I go to the state of deep sleep before dreaming or I don't go to deep sleep?

When there is contradiction in scriptures there is implied meanings.

@@mmsahu1 See, I asked a simple question. Why are you making it complicated? If you have some answer then tell me, otherwise don't waste your time and energy to write things which are not in line with the question. If you think it is, then write it clearly. It is no place to play riddles.

„The modifications of the mind are lit up by reflected consciousness“, he said at min. 17.55. I would understand it better when he had said that the mind is lit up by pure consciousness but only the reflection of that happening is known to us as reflected consciousness. Pure consciousness never gets reflected back to itself so to speak. I wonder and expect a clarification to occur some day🤣😅🙏 Minutes later the clarification took place . Sometimes it seems to be helpful not to understand at first hearing😊🙏
