Hey Jack, I was in the first Squadron of F-16's(Production Models) in the USAF @ Hill AFB, Utah. We were F-16 MOT&E, multinational, operational, test and evaluation. We took delivery of our first black nose Block 1 in January of 1979. I was 19 years old. The F-16 was a "co-produced" aircraft by the U.S., Belgium, Denmark, Norway and The Netherlands. Those Air Forces lived and worked with us at Hill while we verified tech data, maintenance procedures and flying/munitions profiles. Then we went to their countries for 6 months. Many parts and sub assembly's were and are built in foreign countries. The aft sections were manufactured in Belgium and shipped to Fort Worth for assembly. The drop tanks were made in Norway and on and on. I loved the F-16 and then went to F-15's. One day we will probably go head to head with F-16's. Crazy world.

@ @@135iN55Ah yes Sandy, the buyout was years ago. The F-16 we were talking about was a General Dynamics product. And I know a couple of things about the F-35. They fly over my head every day. What's the point?

@@nomadjeff1922 I was in the 16th AMU at Hill - crewed 78-009 back in 1980 - and you're right! Many countries bought the F-16 with the provision that the aircraft get built in their countries.
