Swamp Thing: The Animated Series
Based on the DC Comics series, this is the story of a brilliant botanist, Dr. Alec Holland, who invents an amazing plant-growth formula to end world hunger. Unfortunately, when evil genius Anton Arcane and his Un-Men henchcreatures try to steal the formula, they blow up his lab and send Alec Holland, covered with flaming formula, fleeing into the swamp. There, deep in the primeval muck, the formula begins to work, combining Holland's body and genius intellect with the swamp life, creating Earth's only hope . . . SWAMP THING!

They did. The season 1 intro had the same exact vocals but the music was set to the tune of "Wild Thing."

I like both versions better. The second theme song doesn't suck, but kept the "Wild Thing" vocal track from the first theme song of Swamp Thing. It's possible that this second version of the theme song was used in reairing/repeats/reruns of all 5 episodes.

Not surprised they had to change it. Even if they had the rights to use the Wild Thing" melody it probably ended up being far cheaper to make their own theme they pay the royalties for another season

I bet they changed it due to copyright reasons. Pretty dumb to use the same lyrics though.

Big Steve 300 That's bizarre, though, because the band's label had ties to Warner Music Group. Pretty sure that amounts to suing yourself, which just makes this change even dumber.
