I mostly compose music, but occasionally I share piano works that I become obsessed with (such as this). Subscribe and enable notifications if you'd like to see more - I upload once per month so you won't be inundated. Thanks for listening! Here is Karen Kornienko's sheet music: www.musicnotes.com/sheetmusic/mtd.asp?ppn=MN0198070
@@jponz85 Here you go: www.musicnotes.com/sheetmusic/mtd.asp?ppn=MN0198070 Karen is a marvellous musician - I'd recommend checking out his other transcriptions too!
Thank you, sandhya meghoe! Ezequiel Rosental - quite true, but I suspect they're referring more generally to the music I perform (not just compositions).
I love this Arrangement, full of colors, brillant virtuosity and deep emotion! And, what is more, your piano version really has the same lingering effects on the listener as the original orchestra version has. By the way... you play fantastically.👍👍👍
OMGGG!! Imagine living in the medieval times and you’re the princess then you hear a faint music coming from your master bedroom then running towards it to find this handsome prince!!
Last saturday I performed a coreography based on anna pavlova dance steps, making an honor for her with your music New Beginning. I can't believe it was just a coincidence that you made this video now. We're all connected ❤
this is my favorite piece of classical music, i loved it since i was little especially for its romantic sound but i think that it sounds a little bit more epic and powerful on the piano, it kind of reminds me a Beethoven's piano sonata, not a Tchaikovsky's work that much...it's quite different but interesting!
That's an interesting comparison, and I agree with you! I think Beethoven's piano works often feel orchestral (i.e. you could easily imagine how they might be orchestrated), and this is conversely an orchestral piece arranged for piano.
It's currently 5 in the morning of Thursday, August 12th, 2021. For some reason, I chose to watch this beautiful piece instead of sleeping. I should probably take a shower. I like orange juice. Shall update later.
I love the song, the composer, the scenery, the arrangement and the player! No one detail missing, nothing else need to be added. So powerful, so beautiful. Amazing gift. Thanks for sharing, Luke!!
I fell in love with Chaikovsky when I was 12 years old ( even less 10 or 9 years old) ..every Saturday morning the first Italian channel TV rai uno diffuse The swan lake..it was like a date for me.. I heard the symphony watched the prima ballerina with big admiration... It was the "déclic" of my childhood 🌺 thank you sir.. So precious 🌸
It is a real gift that we might have such a wonderful pianist. That he is manifesting his internal richness of his artistic life while he plays the keyboard.
Sir, I have also watched your video on Standchen (Shubert) your work is beautiful and full of emotions❤ fell in love with it❤ listening again and again 💐
Wow, it's been a while since I've seen one of these videos, this has been one of my favorite top five pieces for a while. Such great technique on your part! Keep it up!
This gave me a very weird nostalgic feeling even though I'm not even old. I love this song much more than I can actually express! It's so beautiful and calming, yet for some reason it makes me feel slightly sad. Keep up the amazing work!
Thank you for such a magnificent performance of a wonderful arrangement of such a great piece of music! 🔥💪🎹🎶👍 Some time last year I wanted to find an arrangement of Swan Lake, but I found only easy and primitive versions for piano, but this arrangement reveals the potential of musical harmony, and I also think that this arrangement best conveys the character of Tchaikovsky's piece. Today RU-vid recommended this video, so it's time to realise a dream) I should also try to master the polyrhythms in these notes.
I don't really know much about classical music but this arrangement made me feel like I'm transported in another reality. When I close my eyes, I can imagine a beautiful swan gracefully taking flight. It soars in to the sky and I can see the coulds painted in different vibrant colors as twilight nears and feel the rush, the air against my cheek and it's ethereal and breathtaking and refreshing. Idk what I'm saying hahahah! Anyways, it was really beautiful, Luke. 🌸
A favorite of my early youth, first brought to life by the simple, clockwise turn of my Fisher-Price music box. ♥️ Now, Luke brings it to me again, except he's actually playing all the other *colors* and *shapes* that I envisioned, too. And several thousand more. Thanks man- that was superb. So happy to see you gaining this traction, I love reading the comments section on all of your posts and shares, as well. The whole name in lights thing IS happening, yeah? Yeah! 🎹 J.
Haha, thanks Justin! A favourite of my youth, too! When I first heard Kornienko's arrangement, I had to play it - I hope it will become more popular (it certainly deserves to be).
Magnificent Luke! Such a beautiful arrangement by Karen Kornienko. Always good to see your comments here, and elsewhere too. Wishing you a wonderfully musical year.
Hearing this in stereo would be fantastic, but hey, your playing is more than enough to make one forget about this being recorded in mono! Beautiful piece and playing!
Luke it was fabulous and my heart finally woke up it’s healing from the depression and distress I’m going through due to Losing my mama last year / I love to listen to Piano music my mum too. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart ♥️
You have certainly taken me down memory lane with this upload. S/L was the first ballet I saw. The beautiful Petipa-choreographed pas de deux danced to this music, building to its inevitable emotional climax, is one of the most moving dance encounters I have ever experienced. My two highly embarrassed companions were jabbing me in the ribs with their elbows because tears were streaming down my cheeks and apparently I was sniffling rather obtrusively. Was my face red ! Even with the brilliant Matthew Bourne reimagining of the ballet, my emotions took over with this scenic music. So, Maestro, once again in my book a highly successful offering. Damn, thank goodness the box of tissues were at hand. Like a Chekhov play where everything happens beneath the surface, so your playing stirs subtle ripples of The Feels in my heart. The Italians have a word for it: sprezzatura - an almost effortless elegance but yet the fire is in the hands . . . :)) PS. How was Luxembourg ?
That's a charming anecdote! It's certainly a wonderful - and possibly quite rare - experience to be so moved by music :) Luxembourg was splendid, thanks! By marvellous coincidence, I played Rachmaninoff to the great composer's grand-niece (who also happens to be the mother of the Luxembourgish Prime Minister).
@@LukeFaulkner Wow ! Did you get to meet her; at the very least, did you get some feedback ? Details please. This has an almost Grace Kelly feel to it. I'm so happy that all went well. What was the occasion ? Me and music. That's some story. My friends have learnt to live with it. When I hear music of excellence I often cry. For me that's the transcendental state the magic of music puts me into. I don't fight it. I (haha literally) go with the flow. 😢 😭 You'll laugh if I had to tell you how many of your compositions had me peeling onions e.g. Last Snow/Springtime. Damn, you dirty dog you.
You are beautiful, and this is amazing! I am blown away at your skill, and the amount of effort you put in! I hope you keep playing! You deserve more recognition!
Luke, you brought pure joy to my heart...you truly interpreted this work in the way it was intended, my heart was overflowing with emotion, from your fingers to my soul. Thank you is insufficient, yet all I can offer...if not a hug via the ethers.
Oh wow! This sure is a departure from what you usually post. The power in this piece left me breathless. Your restraint makes it feel as if the notes themselves were alive and bucking wildly while you held them back so we could all enjoy the music. To me, your stoic exterior only compresses the emotion into a fiery diamond of passion.
This is an absolutely superb arrangement (the best one I know of) of this beautiful piece. I'm amazed at how much or the orchestra is captured within this piano arrangement. Kudos to the arranger and the performer. What a mesmerizing performance!
Luke, what an inspired deviation from your composition resolution (which I, along with many others, have greatly enjoyed :) I'd not heard this particular arrangement of the Swan Lake theme before - it was not only timely given Tchaikovsky's birthday but I loved the swells, ebbs and flows throughout. As always, bravo! It is truly a delight to hear you play :)
