Great question, well asked Royal Tara Ranger. :-) I suppose there's no definitive answer but there's the possibility that spirits who remain in our realm do so because their conscious mind, at the time of death, was capable of 'grabbing a hold' of the time and place they were in. Perhaps, going back far enough in time, you find a race of humans lacking such a cognitive skill so, therefore, they sadly just faded away. That's one school of though anyway. :-) Thanks for watching our videos.
