The tempo totally changes the feeling of the song from the mad scramble of, and for, lust wished for in the Stooges original version into a desperate wish for forgiveness and hollowness from the other party and an ultimate bleak emptiness . A brilliant interpretation.
@@BlPlN Glad you like my list. I went through your favorites and there are quite a few bands and artists we both cherish. Seemingly you also have a very wide range of musical tastes, but I'm a little surprised that there's no John Cale in your list. Whether you're not to familiar with him or dislike him I don't know, but he is definitely worth listening to. I consider him to possibly be the most versatile musician around, always rearranging his songs and music, and also one of the most influential personalities in the development of alternative music. Here are a few links to some songs, you might want to give a try. As you're into Eno, both did a collaboration on the Wrong Way Up LP in the early 90's:ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qh3BKx-GDyo.html This one is with Nick Cave:ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LveotAx3yiI.html This one is from the 60's, recorded beside working with The Velvets:ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Tye3XU4EtWE.html Hope you enjoy.
Iggy Pop has rated Swans for decades, so I doubt he would have a problem with this version. Mike Gira was massively influenced by The Stooges, notably "We Will Fall".
such a mind-blowing song and swans get have got into the deepest meaning of this. this is a dark dream that gets true, every-time, any-time, all-the-time.
I did some looking: it was the bonus track for the CD version of Shame, Humility, Revenge (by Skin) from 1988. I had never heard it before since I've only heard the vinyl tracklisting.
Jeffrey Prosser Swans have been so many things there's no way to say what "is" and "is not" Swans... unless you mean this was recorded as World of Skin and not Swans? Whatever. It's all Swans.
Nathan I’m a bassist so I know G F and E are the root notes of the main chords, but I’m not entirely sure what types of chords they are. I think though that they’re G6 F6 and Eminor. Hope that helps some.
@@generalsmiddy5948 maybe wanna ask Michael Gira if he knows how to read musical notes? Not every musician is trained to recognize every possible chord.
and neither would be the cover of Black Eyed Dog, which is a fantastic cover. and M. Gira: Swans, World Of Skin, Angels of Light - varying degrees of Gira's genius. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-skT9dIJh0AY.html
