Hi Adam! Great haul at the flea markets. There is a big flea market/ garage sale up here in my area this Sunday, weather permitting. I was at the Will and I found a copy of Near Dark. I was just about to leave when an employee walked by with a big armful of blues. Had to wait and check them out, and couldn’t believe what I saw. My store sells DVDs and Blu-ray’s for 3 for $5, so I picked out a couple more to go with Near Dark. I have the movie on dvd and was happy to find the upgrade. Thanks to one of your commentators, I learned about bronzing on the Blu-ray Discs, and now know to watch out for that. Always appreciate the footage, and thanks to your fan who alerted me to that info about disc rot on Blu-rays!
Yes! As you saw most likely, I left the Near Dark I found! I couldn’t believe it but it happens. Yeah, near dark is actually one of the Bluray that I have found in the past that has looked to bronze over as well. So I possibly didn’t leave anything behind, but still hurts. Hey generally check my Bluray before I grab them as well to make sure they’re not all scratched or burnt or showing signs of rot.
😂😂 Yeah I couldn’t believe it myself and honestly that’s the movie that distracted me from grabbing the other out of print movie and that same pile. I was so thrown off, but I finally found the Blu-ray after weeks of DVDs. 😂
A lot of great pickups. You had your hands on it bro 🤣. Literally adjusted it and all. Next time my guy. V for Vendetta is Fantastic one in my opinion. Little slow but I think you will like it. Yellowstone is definitely worth it. Wife and I binged the hell out of that show.
Nice haul! I saw that Indian Summer at the beginning, I wouldn't mind giving that a rewatch. Also, I really like the Firefly series. Just look up online the order to watch the episodes. They did a strange thing on how they released them on air and it didn't make as much sense.
Jason Statham's "Redemption" is also called "Hummingbird".. according to critics they felt this was one of Stathams more extensive acting roles beyond his normal action beatem up flicks.. its action, tragedy, redemption and even a love story.. I guess you can say they're right "Trippin'" came out when the teen movie boom hit in the late 90s and early 00's like "Shes All That" and "Cant Hardly Wait"... "Trippin' " was a urban version of the flicks.. when the movie came out in theaters in '99 I actually had a bootleg vhs of it.. the lead kid in the movie was Rudy's best friend on the Cosby Show, "Kenny/Bud" played by Deon Richmond, who also went on to being in "Scream 3"... was also one of Donald Faison's early flicks he was still doing teen roles like "Clueless" and "Cant Hardly Wait".. I believe i still have both of my vhs bootlegs of Trippin' and the Faculty around somewhere back home, maybe in my closet.. 🤙!
Yep, haven’t seen either one. Sounds like both could be good. I like when actors try and do more and of course, comedy’s are easy watches for me. I enjoy the other comparison flicks so I should like this one.
I just watched "Indian Summer," found it in a triple pack with "Heartbreak Hotel" (my reason for buying to upgrade the vhs tape) and something called "Aspen Extreme," a kind of ski/adventure/romance deal. Indian was pretty good, kinda like a Big Chill vibe in a summer camp setting, slightly different era. I have two of those porky's fox vhs tapes you mentioned, I'm still looking for the 3rd movie on disc!
4k sending a rabid granny to distract and introduce diseases to the hunter! The vendors are starting to sell physical media by the pound. VHS are a pain to lug around so they cost more. I need to check out Big Stan. Sounds like my type of comedy.
😂😂 Always crack me up Doc. Yeah, most don’t even want to bother with tapes anymore due to the space and weight. I got lucky this week to find some of these. I think you’ll like Big Stan as well!
Awesome video. I had to pretty much give away most of my Blu rays and DVDs when I became homeless a couple years ago. All I collected was horror. Do you have any horror on DVD that you are willing to sell?
Thanks! Sorry you had to part ways with the collection and hopefully you’re doing better now. Unfortunately, I’m not a re seller but there’s many places to find movies!
2:49 - Careful with the older IP Man single blu's, they are usually bronzed by now :(. Glad you are feeling better, sorry about the crappy allergies. 14:20 - V for Vendetta is an amazing movie, one of my favorites, upgraded it to 4k recently as well. 17:18 - Yes, the Firefly movie was Serenity (which has a nice 4k now as well). 20:47 - Music concert blu's (regardless of who) are hard to come by so great pickup there. 22:00 - Good deal on the IP Man Trilogy (and unless they exchanged the discs, those are fine). You should certainly watch V for Vendetta first, lots of goodies in there. I will warn you that the Silent Hill sequel is pretty darn awful, but I have it as well (darn completion OCD). Great haul.
Yeah, I’ve come across some bronzing on a few titles out there. Near Dark from Studio Canal is one of them. Glad to see you like some of these! Hoping for good times myself. Thanks for watching!
