Hi, I have Bosch Rotak 37 lawnmower. Switched it on and it cut out after 2 seconds. I opened the motor casing and gave the area a general clean. It then switched on but then cut off again. How do I know if the fault is in the motor or the switch?

Josh, have you a video on how to open the Rotak in order to replace the height adjustment lever? It looks like plastic clips / locks that when put under pressure normally break, really appreciate a helping hand.

+Alexander Bathurst Sorry we do not have a video but looking at the parts diagrams from the manufacturers it looks like you may have to remove the motor cowl and then the upper body from the chassis to access and replace this part.

+eSpares Thanks, I can see why no video is made, it's worse than Ben Hur with a similar mess as Aliens, my advice is sadly if you need to replace the height adjustment lever go out and buy a new mower - it'll be cheaper.

My red lever snapped inside the housing and I can't find anyone who stocks the part.

Hey josh, nice clear vid to get the switch changed. Tried following this on my rotak 40. Unfortunately, when I opened up the housing, the switch lever (a little metal piece) fell out. Can't now figure out how this goes back in, so scuppered. Can someone from the team post of pick it the internal layout of the switch housing that shows the position of this tricky item?

Hi Ian, we think the part is Stock Number: ES1138669 shown at: www.espares.co.uk/search?SearchTerm=F016T49845 This is fitted into the housing to push the start lever back to the off position. Sorry but we do not have clear images to show this.

i have changed switch cleaned motor checked all wiring changed fuse but still not working .Has anybody got any ideas what i haven't checked or how to get this mower working.

silly question forgive me. But how do you know when the switch needs to be changed? I have a qualcast 400 power trek that stopped working today I don't know what's wrong with it I don't feel that I should throw it away in the tip bcos it could be something simple I've misplaced my manual pls help. pls reply. thanks

I too have changed the fuse, change plugs, changed extension cables plugged the mower itself into the power socket. it worked for a bit then stopped. No clue what's wrong.
