In this video I will show you the best comparison of the EL 10x42 and NL 12x42 Swarovski Binos. Both of these binos are top notch and best in class, but there are a few differences you will want to take a look at in the video. If you have any questions for me please leave a comment and I will get back to you!

Well done.. much appreciate.. I own a pair of 10x42 nl and just bought me a good second hand pair of 12x50 el’s. I think the newer nl’s suffer from glare or flare when there is sun coming from the sights especially when the sun is low. For such a pricey bin that is not so good. Did you experience that?
@rogueoutdoorshtkstw
@rogueoutdoorshtkstw Год назад
I did not experience a straight up glare from the sun. There is a little bit of a light ring at the very outer side of the NL view that I have not seen on the EL. But that is probably from the expanded field of view. I did not notice it the whole time in sunset conditions, only at a few angles.

Great video. I own an older pair of ELs. I was going to sell mine and go 12s so I don't need 15s? I have a swaro Spotting scope or would you keep ELs and get 15s instead?
@rogueoutdoorshtkstw
@rogueoutdoorshtkstw Год назад
Well if you own a spotter I would say keep that and go with the 12x42.

EL - более тёплое изображение, NL - более холодное изображение, более резкое и ближе к реальным цветам..

Through the phone it’s easy to see the color difference as well as the deeper DOF on the EL because of the lower magnification. With both in 10x , In real life the the NL is slightly warmer and has a tad more color saturation.

There's a video by Indreams on RU-vid comparing el 8.5 vs nl pure, and the greens look richer in the el to me. The nl pure looks brighter but bit washed out?
@Paultricounty
@Paultricounty 6 месяцев назад
@@GM-bq6zo That makes sense, the NL at 8x has a slightly larger exit pupal. And it’s also possible the 8.5x maybe able to make some colors pop a bit more because of a more neutral color hue and the added magnification
@GM-bq6zo
@GM-bq6zo 6 месяцев назад
@@Paultricounty I haven't compared them side by side, but in that video, if you look at the trees and grass in both binoculars, the el appears to have more lighter and darker areas, contrast, whereas the nl looks all light.
@Paultricounty
@Paultricounty 6 месяцев назад
@@GM-bq6zo It really is very difficult to come to any real conclusions from a video online because of the Phone/camera used and what it may ad to color saturation. It can be very deceiving. I’ve compare all of the swaro NL’s and EL’s side by side, it’s the only way to be sure in what the differences are.

I’m a bit lost of what to do for my next pair of binoculars. Can’t decide if I want to stay at the 1000$ price point (zeiss conquest maybe) or jump io to get the EL at 2000. Can’t justify the NL (can barely justify the EL would have to be a forever binocular)
@rogueoutdoorshtkstw
@rogueoutdoorshtkstw 9 месяцев назад
It really depends on how much you glass in my opinion. If you live in the binos and spend hour glassing, I would say do the EL if you can. However if you don’t glass a ton then the razor HD or the Zeiss may be great.

Buy your binoculars from a return friendly dealer preferably with a FREE return shipping policy. Between myself and several optics guru friends we got to compare a lot of glass of various different tier levels side by side and results so far is rather shocking. What er all found out is a definite point of diminishing returns. Example the Zeiss Conquest 10x42 ($1000/$799 sale) vs ScoopX 10x42 ($250/$60 new open box/damaged box sale) comparing the $799 Zeiss Conquest to $60 ScoopX binoculars were nearly indistinguishable in regards to optical brilliance and believe it or not most of us prefer the ScoopX regardless of such huge price disparity. Depth of field was noticeably better with the ridiculously cheap ScoopX. Also compared the ScoopX to the Vortex Razor HD 10x42 and there was a noticeable difference with the ScoopX being far superior. I also have a Kowa Genesis Prominar XD 10x33 with fluorite glass that's only slightly clearer than the ScoopX but actually prefer the ScoopX better depth of field. Less focus needing to be done with the ScoopX. Best $60 I ever spent on optics. Warranty supposed to be lifetime even if it doesn't have a warranty, for the price I bought another just for a spare. Some friends bought the ScoopX after I turned them onto this cheap exceptional quality UHD binoculars. Don't pay $250 regular price for them from Amazon though since you can buy them for around $40-$60 open box or damaged box models on eBay. One friend already compared his to an Athlon Cronus UHD Gen 2 ($499/$399 sale) and told me the ScoopX is the better binoculars and he returned the Athlon for a refund after comparing it to his ScoopX. I wish I gotten a chance to see them side by side for myself. The Athlon Cronus UHD Gen 2 is supposed to be in between the Vortex Razor HD and Razor UHD level of glass.

EL has overly aggressive field flatteners. Panning makes me nauseous. Perhaps some edge blur is a good thing? NL is amazing if you can accept the weight and Swarovski’s colour signature. Forehead stabilizer is a game changer. I went Leica a while ago. Zeiss SFL looks tempting… going to try soon 😊

The grass colors with the EL look a bit darker and more green than with the NL. I prefer the richer tones of the EL

The color is very different. The EL has more saturated greens. I'm guessing the NL has more accurate color though.

Hello.Now I sold EL Swarovizion. EL has beautiful realistic colors and clarity from edge to edge, I just lacked sharpness.. I bought a Victory SF. SF has green colors but it is very sharp. I have never seen such sharpness in EL. So if someone wants realistic colors and image clarity from edge to edge, they should buy EL or NL. But if you want a sharp image, then SF is definitely sharper.

I think even the zeiss conquest hd and sfl's are much sharper than swarovski's or leica. Zeiss's been kicking their ass in resolution for years. Idk wtf people are even debating that for. It ridiculously obvious if you aren't paid to say otherwise

Why are you comparing a 10x EL to a 12x NL? So what are we trying to compare here? We’re not comparing the same magnification from two different product lines. Are we trying to convince one magnification is better than other , then we’d need the EL 12x50. This review makes no sense.

The feild of view are supported to be almost identical. I've had a pair of 10x42 EL for many many moons now. The new NL pure have a wider field of view across the line. The NL 10's are way wider than my current pair of EL's. However the NL 12x42 are supported to have a wider field of view compared to my older 10x42 EL's (not much just a couple feet). So I could jump up in magnification while maintaining my current field of view. Hope that helps explain.
@Paultricounty
@Paultricounty 7 месяцев назад
If FOV and magnification is the main things your looking for , then the NL’s are the way to go. But there are other factors to consider, exit pupal being one and of course more shake one will have with the 12x. The 12x50 EL is superior to the 12x NL in brightness in low light. Which for hunters is very important in early morning and late afternoon.
@daanderson5765
@daanderson5765 7 месяцев назад
@@Paultricounty sounds like you're sold on the 12x50's if that fits your hunting style by all means, do you. We can all agree there is no perfect bino for every style of hunting or situation. I do a mix of hunting, mostly still hunting thick tall timber for Rosie's and blacktails with the occasional need for glassing open country. You asked why the review of the 2 binos I was measly trying to help explain that the specs on the 2 pairs are quite similar. I will also likely never own a pair of 50 I just don't glass enough open country to need them and when I do hunt out East where its more open I always bring my spotting scope.

I haven't tried nl pures yet, but from videos and images I've seen, the nl pure sometimes looks bit more washed out than the el, el looks like it has nicer colour contrast in the greens etc?
