This is the setup I have using a Nikon D500. The main disadvantage is that it's a lot more gear to carry around if you have to do some walking. Taking pictures needs a bit of practice. In my experience you need to use the eyepiece and not live view (for a number of reasons). You will need a high ISO and high shutter speed, and you won't see much in the preview. Pictures will look very under exposed, but you can bring them back in Post processing. Just don't expect pin sharp pictures.
Clay, holding my breath here...have an Opticron 77 mm4 ga ed scope (alas not a Swarovski) - will that work too (with a Panasonic GH5, say)? Meanwhile, blown away just how quickly you slotted your camera onto the front there! So question is, will your amazingly practical adaptor work for my make of scope as well, and will it cut out all the extraneous light trying to get in? Thanks.
