ABOUT THIS VIDEO: Many of you asked to see the Caran D'Ache Pablo 120 colored pencils swatched, so here's the video! It was nice to get back in and reorganize this beautiful set of pencils the way I prefer. Hope you enjoy! Please don't hesitate to ask questions in the comments or via email if you have them.

I remember a long time ago you saying these were your favorite pencils. They are mine too but not many tubers I watch love them. I love all Caran D'ache pencils. Just really enjoy watching you and not having feeling that I must be the best colorist or I should not be doing this. Thank you as always for your time that you put into these videos.

I'm so happy you did this especially close up. I'm on Social Security and at times like these there's no way I could justify spending $$$ on colored pencils. That being said I too like to color nature pictures and I really wanted to see Pablo's greens. I've tucked this video in my save for later pocket so that, in better times, I can slowly purchase just the colors I "think" I "need." Although I've swatched all my pencils and have a sheet on each brand I've pulled all the greens from all brands together in their own case and have swatched them altogether on one sheet. That's why your swatch was so special to me. Trust I'll be watching closely when you use your Pablos to color leaves, grasses, shrubs, etc. Thank you.🎨♿👵 Barb N.

I love my Caran d'Ache pencils as well! To your comments on the 2 blacks ... they are made from different black pigments. 496 Ivory Black is made from PBk6. That's a lamp black and is the most opaque pigment. The 009 Black pencil is made from PBk7. That's a pigment made from a mixture of carbon black and lamp black. The carbon black is a very cool black and explains why their greys 002-008 are very cool (also made from PBk7). The metallic pencils have aluminum powder added to make them "metallic" ... it's the only real failing in the Caran d'Ache line. I wish they'd just drop them and put in 3 additional colors.

I agree! Or make them with mica and a bit stronger, maybe? I love good metallics on toned paper for details, but when they aren't very good, I'd prefer more colors, too. A couple more reds would make my day!

Such pretty pencils! Would love it you would do a skin tone series or just show how you do it every once in a while, that’s something I really struggle with and would love to see how you do it!

I can try, but honestly I don't color skin enough to feel confident in teaching it. Maybe when the pocket edition of Enchanted Faces gets here I can do some short "tutorials" in that. I have a few different ways I do it.

Simple Art for Adults no worries even just a speed color of you coloring a person would cool. I struggle mostly with just finding the right tones to use.

Thank you for doing this. I see some colors here that I would really like to supplement my set of Polychromos. I am going to see if I can get them open stock at Blick when the stores re-open!

They play beautifully with almost any pencil, so that's a great idea! Blick online seems to be out of almost everything so I suppose it's time to start rationing my pencils lol.
