You are so welcome! I’m really glad it was helpful for you. You did not miss me taking the shoulder measurements. That’s the beautiful thing about this method of measurements for Sweater Knitting. When you think about how her sweater is constructed, classically your binder for the arm holes and work on up straight until it’s time to bind off for the shoulders. That is the shoulder measurement! You can absolutely the shoulders in for a different taper on a sleeveless top, or if you know you have broader shoulders, you can give yourself a smidge of extra room, but that upper bust is a really good indication of what’s happening in the shoulder region. Additionally, the sleeve cap is going to take the shoulder size and shape into account. Does that make sense?

What are you working on?

😀Ease is the difference between the size of your garment and the size of your body-like a 43” sweater on a person with a 40” bust would have 3” of positive ease.

If you have a more specific question, or would like to chat about ease on a particular pattern, I’m happy to help!
