Maybe, but by 2010 all the teams knew how to play Spain. Physical football and pressure to Busquets. Which “forced” Del Bosque to relegate Xavi Alonso in defensive tasks. It was a more sober football but in the end successful. I don’t think 2008 Spain would have reached the final in 2010.

In the majority of his seassons as a professional since his debut he always score at least 20 goals in clubs per season. If you dont know nothing of spain except barcelona and real madrid its not villa problem. Villa in spain is considered a legend. A striker beast. He won one copa del rey with zaragoza when the team arrive the first season in the first spanish division. And he was the only striker back then that fight for being the first goalscorer in la liga every seasson despite not being in a real madrid or barcelona superstar team. Villa is class. He never wanted to leave spain even when premier league teams and italian teams wanted him. Madrid wanted to sign him every fckn summer since 2006... but he never went there. All the big ones in spain wanted david in their teams. Every spanish people knows the carrer of villa in club level, and the guy was a hardworking man without marketing like other players and he made himself a name with goals and being a pure class player. Villa is a legend. Underrated as fck. And that type of commentary prove my point. Underrated.
