So emotional hearing the WORLD sing our national anthem ❤️ Firstly it’s shocking to have people outside of our country know the anthem, and secondly the sportsmanship shown by everyone to sing another country’s anthem after a loss for their country.

I was a Marine grunt in Vietnam. Since that time, I have pretty much been void of any feelings or emotions. Until I hear our National Anthem, in particular when the crowd takes over. Damn, my eyes are leaking.

Bravo! Not only did they sing it loud and proud but they sang it beautifully.

Oh they didn't just pick it right up. A lot of them were already singing which is why it sounded like it was an effortless transition. That's how we roll :). The bagpipers were playing America the Beautiful. You should check out the late Ray Charles' rendition. It will make you cry.

'America the Beautiful,' is obviously a different song than the anthem, but they are both considered with respect.

I'm in my 60s and a proud American. I have sung this national anthem countless times during my lifetime. That being said, this kind of patriotism chokes me up every time and makes me extremely proud. Land of the free home of the brave !!🇺🇲 Thank you for sharing this and appreciating it with us.

I’m so glad that they sang it straight without any vocalizing or singing up to a higher note on “free”. Thanks for sharing.

I'm old. So take that into account.;-) But when I was in school, we started every morning with the Pledge of Allegiance, the National Anthem and 1 minute of "quiet time" for us to pray or whatever - it just had to be quiet. :) I know that kids today don't do all of that, and I know in some areas they don't do any of it. I consider that a mistake. Some have called it, "Indoctrination." So be it. I just know when I hear,read or sing that song I'm filled with pride. There are those, btw, who think we should change our National Anthem to "America, The Beautiful." Great song. Play it all you want, but it doesn't have the patriotism in our people that the Star Spangled Banner, does.

Thank you for showing this! Another one that just brought me to tears was a Toronto Maple Leaf hockey game where someone was singing the Star Spangled Banner for the American Team. The mic cut out on the singer, and our Canadian neighbors finished singing it....the whole arena. Brought me to tears. But I didn't see this one. Thank you so much to our adopted Americans! 😊

You wondered about the first song.... In 1893 a Poet, Katherine Lee Bates made the arduous climb to the top of Pike's Peak, just outside Colorado Springs Colorado. At the summit, at over 14,000 feet, air so thin she could barely breath, she looked out over Colorado Springs, and then onward, across the foothills to the rocky Mountains. Then still onward, across the rolling planes of eastern Colorado towards Kansas. A sight we can only enjoy now, if not on top of a mountain, then in a passenger jet at such a height. She was so overcome by the awe and beauty that she wrote a poem to capture that feeling. Later, a church Organist would put put part of the poem to song. One of our most beloved national songs, "America The Beautiful." This is the verse we know and love. "Oh beautiful, for spacious skies For amber waves of grain For purple mountain majesties Above the fruited plain America, America, God shed his grace on thee, and crown thy good with brotherhood from sea to shining sea."😊

The most amazing incident like this to me occurred at an ice hockey game in Canada and the microphone failed and the Canadians finished the US national anthem 😊

No matter where I'm at or what sporting event I'm watching whenever the National Anthem is sung I cry like a baby. I always have and always will. It means the world to me. This happened at a Pro baseball game I went to in Dallas Texas and the whole stadium finished the song. It gave me chill bumps it was so loud. God Bless America,

There have been a few times at baseball/softball games where it was announced the National Anthem would not be sung but the audience wasn't going to have that and started singing it!!!! I was so proud of those people!!!!!

Usually, everyone just sings along quietly, so there's no problem singing louder. When I was younger, our whole family (and guests if any) would sing loudly in our living room every time we were watching sports on TV.

My father said that the best way to hear the National Anthem is in crowds like this. And I can tell you that it's surreal to hear it in person. It is a truly amazing experience.

It's an honor to be buried there. You also might take a look at a video of the guarding of The Tomb of The Unknown Soldier. The precision of the changing of the guards is breath taking!

It’s beautiful to hear any country sing their National Anthem, but Americans have a special connection as so many have fought and lost lives defending freedom for our country and others.

This is from my home town, Omaha, Nebraska. Omaha police department honor guard started to sing the national anthem and experienced difficulties. 16500 spectators stepped in and helped out.

This also happened at a Boston Bruins game. It was the first game played after the marathon bombing. The crowd was so loud that the performer stopped singing and just let the crowd take over. It was beautiful! ❤

There's another video that took place in Canada in a hockey game. They played the national anthems of both countries. When the mic cut out on the American national anthem, our Canadian neighbors in the stands stepped right up and finished our National anthem right cause that's what good neighbors do. Watch out for each other. I was still touched to see Canadian's knowing the words to it and singing it for us.

So, cool. I'm that 78 year old guy whose father is a first generation American from Sweden....Mom the same but from Germany. All Americans, except our native Indians, are from all parts of the world and that is what brings us together: we are sons and daughters of immigrants!

This has actually at least 4 times that are on film. It has probably happened countless times that arent on film. When the microph3stops working, Americans will sing it. The event cannot start until the Anthem is played.

What I find funny to think about is the fact that there are no doubt many people in that arena that can't sing worth a shit. But when many people sing it together, it's like suddenly everyone sing in tune with the breaks in the right spots..it just sounds AWESOME !!!
