Playing one of my own tunes on a 3 string Bass Tagelharpa. I built this Instrument 2020 home in Sweden. Hope you like my music and the old buzzing sound from Scandinavia.
Holy smokes! I'm not sure people realize how hard this is. I've never seen or heard of this instrument until this moment, but that perfect tuning on all those notes on a string you have to play in mid-air.... that's insane... totally blown away!
I am in love with both this musical instrument and your original compositions. I need more tagelharpa in my life! As someone who's built one before, would you recommend purchasing one pre-built or should I build one myself? I don't have much skill in woodworking, but I can't deny how satisfying it would be to make one from scratch.
Thanks so much! I'm glad you like my tunes and the tagelharpa! Try building it yourself👍 The pressure from the horsehair strings is not hard, so instruments do not need to be so advanced. Start by making a drawing the way you want it. Go to a woodshop, where you can get ready-made pieces for the sides and neck that you then glue together. Take thin boards for the back and top, for example thin plywood. Drill some holes for the sound in the top. Then you glue the sides and the back and the top together, and you're almost there. You can check my build video or others if maybe you can get some tips on how to do it. Good luck my friend 👍
Start easy, find a good sound from the bow and just pull across the strings with a relaxed wrist. Put a lot of resin on the bow as well. Have fun and good luck!👍
Hej igen 👍 Jag tycker inte att det är så svårt. Stråken kanske du behöva öva lite på om du inte har spelat med stråke förut. Men börja väldigt enkelt, få in en bra stråkförning, sen dröjer det nog inte länge förrän du spelar låtar. Tagelharpan är ett roligt och fascinerande instrument att spela, hoppas du snart har en själv och spelar för fullt !👍
