The west should've sent these tanks, as well as fighter jets, during fall of 2022, so that the spring offensive of 2023 could've started the second nature permitted, instead of in the summer. The Russians were given too much time to prepare. That's the biggest mistake.

You're welcome. I'm happy we were so quick in doing the right thing here. The Russians NEED to learn that they can't just run their tanks into any neighbor capital when they like - and this time, they actually couldnt, due to preparations, open info, and everybody deciding to step in. Good. However, we must not forget to win the world peace, too. We can't afford to leave people behind and think it's just their problem anymore. There needs to be guarantees and trust for all the bloody trauma from the thousands of years of agriculture, and the slavery and warfare that came with it. So - we need to end poverty and the view that people need to be forced to work to cooperate and do their part. It's not true, as long as we don't have to work so bloody much and don't have the time to really get to KNOW people. As it was in the beginning, when we were few and all of us had to cooperate, and with other groups, for daily sustenance. It worked without real wars for tens of thousands of years, so we have it in us - we are cheifly the cooperating ape, not the competitive - even if competition can be used as long as it is kept friendly - so the losers too gain from the game. So... Now, lets solve this together from now on! :D

@@teaser6089 The job of the tank depends of the task it has been given. In our Army it is to take or defend terrain or to defeat the enemy in a certain area always together with infantry.

As a main battle tank it wouldn’t have done any good. As support for infantry and in numbers against lighter armored or against transports, it would definitely have outperformed what Russia is fielding.

Sen har vi Karl XII som slogs med Kosackerna mot Ryssarna på 16-1700 talet. Sverige har en lång historia med Ukraina innan ens Ryssland existerade.

@@lunkis3233 Kan även lägga till att det finns en by i Kherson distriktet ( Zmijevkas kommun) som heter "Gammalsvenskby" som har Svensk ättlingar och fortfarande behåller vissa Svenska traditioner. Zmijevkas kommunvapen har en variant av ens Svensk flagga ( gul med blått kors ) samt tre kronor. Efter Ryska revolutionen så bad byborna att få lämna och åka till Sverige så de flesta kom till Sverige runt 1930 och bosatte sej på Gotland. Föreningen Svenskbyborna finns på Gotland och dom har även ett vänortsavtal, Kungen och Drottningen besökte byn 2008 om jag minns rätt.

*improved Armor over Leopard 2A5. From 2A7 onwards the armor protection on the "german" version was drasticly improved again. And the relevant areas where the Strv122 is better armored are the upper glacis of the hull and the turret roof. the different electronics are swedish radios and command and control network systems.

Ye thats kind of our thing when we choice gear, our equipment is suppose to have high quality, easy to repair/maintain, and at a rather low cost.

compared to the 2A4? that would be more like 7-8 tons if we speak about the Strv122s. i think you mean the 2A5

@@BKBCrAnK Compaired to the Vanila Leo 2.. evey other upgrade was about adding weight.. It is what it is. Now the New Leo II that several countries among them Norway has on order now, has better transmission, engine power pack, and suspension. All due to added weight i might add.

Cant be the best if its a better 2A5 while germany no uses 2A7V and 2A8 wich all have better electronics and optics plus the better gun

@@BKBCrAnK no i would say that the A7 and future A8 is now close to the Strv 122 when it comes to electronics and ballistic protection, these were the main differences between the german build Leopard 2 and the strv 122. Also nearly 50% of the swedish current 122 will be upgraded to the 123A variant, inluding replacing the L44 with the L55 canon, the main difference between A5 and the A6.

Warthunder is as close to a serious simulation as a BigMac is to a world class dish.

@@KBKriechbaum Too bad BigMacs are actually good where I live :). If you look at success, then yes, it is a world class dish. And WT is a good simulator for ground vehicles. It's not intended to be one, but it does the job, as you can get a general idea of what a tank's pros and cons are.

There is already a confirmed destroyed i believe, and there is 5-6 of them wich are damaged but not destroyed.

non nato tank exports of abrams is just about the base tank parts. the optics and night vision is most likely the only best thing allowed on export abrams.

Well.. it have more amor and the electronics is a bit more modern. Specially top armour. Sweden thought that top attack artilery would be a problem when adding armour. So there was a lot of top armourn added. This proved to be very useful against drones

I would say no, but this war would be very different without mines, from the footage available the drones doesn't stop this tank, worst hit(on video) was an ATGM up in the northeast of Luhansk, near the front, but all 4 crew members got out.

@@5co756 I'm talking about the numerous drones that have been hitting these tanks with little effect. Mines on the other hand... once your track is blown off you will be a sitting duck.

well its both and a bit more. Its the tank, a well trained and capable crew, maintenance, and how you use the tank(strategy) and its crew. If any one of those fails, the tank is of no use.

Where the tank is deployed and what it happens to be up against on the other side of course makes a massive difference, no tank is invincible, not even a swedish one. Tanks can be repaired. Crews can't.

We have no idea if they are out of action, we do know 7 has been hit, these guys say their tank has been hit twice as well, but it doesn't seem to be out of action. Some probably are though, but lets not jump to conclussions. Also, we don't know how they are used, how much they've been used and in what roles.

@@RaXXha What i mean is compared to the other leopard 2's that were sent, going by number- the Strv 122's has over 60% loss rate. That is way more than the other variants sent. I am therefore wondering if there are some tactical issues and whatnot.

​@@ThorSuzuki1mines are the great equalizers. Once the tanks are immobilized, artillery and drones do the rest. Western theory holds that tanks require supporting elements for effective operation. However, if the needed support is short on ammo, troops, and transport then old soviet methods rely on disposable tanks.

@@ThorSuzuki1 There are 21 2A6, 12 hit(5 destroyed according to Oryx), so around 57% have been damaged, 2A6 and Strv 122 are likely better than the 2A4s, but those could have seen less action or been held in reserve, moreover, they say it's a breacher, I interpret that as "charging in messing them up", which probably means more risk taking, the 2A6 they've described as a sniper in another report, a better gun, but lacking a bit of armour/protection compared to Strv 122, so they could be used differently.

The Ukrainians are going to receive larger numbers of Leo 1s.Over 200 have been delivered or will be after being restored to service. Germany is actively trying to get back 25 swiss Leo 1s in storage in Italy that had been sold to a Bravarian company 4 years ago but the Swiss government is blocking the transfer to Ukraine. About 96 more Swiss Leo1s are being stored in Italy that Germany wants to buy back to modernize and send to Greece in exchange for 100 Greek Leo1s that would be sent to Ukraine.

depends on what you mean by that. It can take hits from many AT weapons and keep the crew alive. Depending on where an AT weapon hit the tank, it could either continue working, or be disabled, forcing the crew to evacute the tank. No tank, including the Challenger 2 or Abrams is indestructible. The Swedish variant is very well protected, the survivability of its crew is very high. But a direct hit on the rear from a heavy AT would most likely destroy the enginge, and that way render it immobile.
