I would love if you started making videos again, specifically the long-form talking videos about what you’re working on. I would be willing to support on Patreon if it were available. Hope all is well.
Hey, Gary. I have been watching your posts for a long time - as, unbelievably, has my wife, who only sees my modelling as my way of not being with her. In fact, we have actually spent lovely winter evenings watching your videos on our projector, laughing and enthralled in equal measures. I just wanted to say that your skill and easy humour has given me (and clearly a lot of other people) a lot of pleasure. Although I enjoy the technical slideshow presentations, please. For God's sake. Post a video. I'll send you a crate of beer... Davis.
Blimey Gary ! what good eyesight you have !!! Miss your shed vlogs ! Any chance at all of you resuming transmission or has life made that unlikely Cheers Norm
I don t usualy use net trafic on my telephone... buy a vídeo from Gary??? Hell yeah!! Now... you are JUST SHOWING OFF RIGHT?? beautiful work Gary!!! Perfect!!
Thank you Alex. It had been a wee while since I dabbles in the nano scale - especially with extra detailing - so this was a nice wee (wee being the operative word) change. I actually have a few other 1/144 kits in the stash that have photoetch sets for them as well as vacform canopies and resin engines. Mental!
Gary, I don't know why, but I don't get ant notice of your vids being put up. To this vid all I can say is, it hurt my eyes just watching! WOW! That's small and packed with detail,I'd be blind and pissed off if I attempted anything like this. Great build, very different camo, excellent work.
Keep checking to see if you are back with us, really miss your superb model making skills and chat from the man cave. You were an inspiration to me for my model making. I do hope you are keeping well and life is being good to you. Take care, stay safe...
Great to see you back Gary!! looking forward to your extremely entertaining shed talks. As i said before.. you have a great style in your vlogs, kind of unrehearsed, yet still to the point and entertaining. Bring it on!!
Thanks, Nige. I'm just putting a few of these montage type vids to get everyone caught up with finished builds before I re-unleash myself upon the masses again.
Well done, my love. That Messerschmitt feels like so long ago... I remember going through this build with you. Very proud of your exquisite work on this, sweetie. xxxx
I cannae wait for the new ISM mag to come out...and to see this in print with what you've written. People must be wondering about when it'll be published!!
Superb stuff Gary. So pleased to see some videos from you again. Dunno of my eyeballs could cope with that scale. The photo etch parts look ridiculously fiddly. You did an amazing job mate.
Cheers, Tom. Uhm... yeah... that little bit next to the cocktail stick...? Never made it into the build, pinging off into oblivion....I didn't even bother looking for it... hehehe.
Nice one Gary, I miss your shed talks. Any chance of doing them again? Great skills demonstrated on this model and heaven only knows how you managed to build those tiny wee pieces into a very good quality BF-109. I hope that you have a great weekend my friend, Joe
Thanks much, Joe. :) Because there was such a long time that passed, I thought I would make a few of these montage type videos to show what I have finished over the last year - yes, it's been a year! Once I've done that, I'll do a cave show, as it were. I just thought if I had tried to tell you all about them, then that video would have lasted about 4 hours! They're usually long enough as it is! :)
MakingModelsAgain.... Long time....LONG TIME!? The last time was just when my ever pleasant Norse ancestors, started with their raping, burning and pillaging....😉😄
Welll.... funny you should say that, but my partner has been researching my genealogy and as it turns out, I've got a bit of Thor in me myself! I won't say what bit...
Well now, you see that is just my luck. Stumble onto a youtube channel that looks like I would like. Check out some in the middle line up and say “wow….I like this guy and his work, He has my kind of wit to boot!” Than go to the beginning of the videos. Get hooked (even call in sick to work to binge watch.) Then get to the last video and find it was uploaded 2 years ago…… Now what???? looks like withdrawal or lots more single malt. Anyway, love your work, wit, man cave, presentation and choice of beverage. Hope all is well. Come back soon.
Time for some shed nostalgia....hope that all is well at your end of the bar....shed, I mean shed....barkeep, another one ples....plie....plei....darn it! 🍻
Glorious work. Your blending of kit and PE and paint is extraordinary. It's also a good thing you have a booming great micro lens on your picture-taker-machine. Well (its) Done 😁👍👍👍
And yet, I noticed I still have too shallow a depth of field which considering the overall size of the model, is a slap on the hand for me! I had to make sure of this when photographing the A-10 (coming soon)!
So how many swear words did you use in the making of this kit? Im thinking you can get that WingNut Wings Felixstowe Duellists with the proceeds of the swear jar ;) beautiful work as always.
Micro surgery and masterful skills yield a magnificent model. Beautiful work Brother. Bill PS: Don't inhale too deeply, you may lose an landing gear. Hahaha.
That's just....*large swig of rum*....absolutely #@&%§§%&@# phenomenonal work....pour yourself a larg....massive one, you deserve it mukka! That's it, I'm taking up knitting....again!
Alas, the house is bereft of any spirits at the moment, so I'll have to pass on that but there is a cheeky, wee Shiraz there with my name on it, so I'll crack that for tonight and raise a glass. Or two. Or..... ;)
@@MakingModelsAgain Needless to say, 1/144 make my head hurt....way to tiny! Could come in handy fighting off wasps, mosquitoes and other unpleasant creatures though! 🤨🤔
Stunningly nano! Just one question, how do you apply what I assume must be CA glue to the backs of the harnesses/other teeny tiny details if even a toothpick point dwarfs the details?
I have the thinnest strand of wire that witll self support imbedded in a blob of blu-tak. I dip the end in the CA glue and use it as an applicator. Works best with the thicker glues, but because it's such a small amount, you kinda have to be quick to get the part in place before it dries. Can be quite frustrating at time. hehehe... :)
Thanks, Martin. Our '1/144 guy' uses those little plastic tubs you get carry-outs in for his stuff and usually gets his entire display into one of those folding crates whereas the rest of us look like we're moving house!
MakingModelsAgain I am warned now... I' ll never go lower than 1/72nd. 😁 Which is acceptable for at least twin engined airplanes... Thanks for the little chat!
My god, man - what did you use to paint the cockpit - a single hog bristle?! There's an Eduard eentsy Spit in my stash and I can't find the packet, let alone put it together! Well done, hope you restart the 'Talks from the Cave' soon - a lot of people rely on your advice on alcohol as well!Cheers,Vimal
Well, Vimal, that little Spit goes together beautifully and.... and.... there's a BrenGun photoetch set for it too which also comes with a vacform canopy and the radio compartment!
Absolutely amazing build. It could pass for a larger scale, given the details. Not a place I would tread Incidentally, how was the Sweet kit? I've heard good things.
Thanks, Stephen. Sweet kits are the Tamiya's of 1/144. Fit is sublime and the surface detailed more refined than most others larger scales. Definitely worth a try. I'm eager to try a Zero next (have a couple in the stash - also with PE detail sets)
Absolutely love that paint scheme well done! Not sure how you are able to work with such small photo etch parts I have trouble with 1/48. One thing about the Luftwaffe they certainly had much more imaginative color schemes then the allies I think that's why I actually prefer to make Luftwaffe plane over allied ones. Cheers another great one Gary.!
That's a sweet looking build Gary, see what I did there? See? Eh? Did you see? It looks like a better kit than the eduard one which I have and that etch is just crazy.
So Gary... when are you going to share the secret of how you train your troupe of performing fleas to build a model kit?! It's the only explanation for this tiny beauty! Nice one! Cheers. :-)
Très beau travail mon ami GARRY Et bonne explication très intéressante pour moi Très beau modèle Messerschmitt J adore ta vidéo je suis abonné de FRANCE 👍 Very good work my friend GARRY and good explanation very interesting for me Very nice model Messerschmitt I enjoy watching your video this is a pleasure for the eyes 😎👍 I am subscribed of France And I would be proud to have you as subscriber too 👍
I see Gary's partner was uploading videos few months ago, and seems to be with another man unless its her brother or a friend , Gary nowhere to be seen in the videos . Its possible they may have divorced and he's still piecing his life back together...or maybe I have came to a very poor assumption and conclusion. We miss you
Hi Luke, just out of curiosity, do you mind me asking who this was that was uploading? Was it the Asian woman, by any chance? As I said, just curious. :)
MakingModelsAgain, I’ve started making models again (sorry lol) about three months ago and have binged on your videos. Awesome stuff and I hope you will post some more stunning model builds soon👍. The hairy sticks are already on borrowed time pending an airbrush🤪 Cheers bud and thanks for all the excellent posts 🍺🍺🍺🍺
