Woke has been transformed from a word meant to describe black people being aware of systemic discrimination to an all encompassing buzzword used by right wing pundits and politicians to describe anything they don't like. The fact that someone of his caliber would stoop to this level of content creation is just personally disappointing. If you're so offended by a black character appearing in your Norse mythology video game...cool good for you. Don't be surprised if your comment section starts to resemble a qanon 8chan message board.

The best definition of woke I have come across is “putting merit and achievement behind identity politics". To be woke is to put more weight on someone's immutable characteristics, like skin color and/or sex, instead of their merit or content of their character. Also people aren't offended by a black character appearing in a Norse mythology video game. People are offended by WHY the black character appeared in a Norse mythology video game. You would know this if you actually watched the video. Also like I said nothing he said in this video was wrong. You want to try and actually address any of those points?

It comes off as post hoc justification. "I don't like that a black character was in this game so let me research how it happened so I can justify my discomfort." It's not like he is the only one making content about this either. It's every ant sjw content creator from 2016 trying to jump on the "woke" gravy train.
