Hey, I pretty much just sat down at a piano and wanted to learn. This was one song that I wanted to get down and I just wanted to thank you because this video definitely helped, and you are a damn good teacher, so thank you.
Agreed. He says he's got to get a better way of doing it, but when compared to a lot of other tutorials, this is done very well. Good angle to see which keys are being played.
I just found this tutorial today, worked really well. I like the way you teach, you know, stopping and starting and bumbling along, makes it kind of easy to take it in. I just have a regular piano for now so backing tracks are hard to get together. Next piano though get something else. Thanks a lot MikesMusic.
I'm 18 years old and I've never touched a piano in my life or seen anyone do it, in fact, a hippo could probably play better than me. But, for some odd reason I'm setting a goal to be able to play this whole song on my 16 year old keyboard with a total of 50 keys on it. I'm hoping to finish by the end of summer when I start college. I may be messaging you later on for tips, but so far this tutorial is making it come together!! Thanks!
Love this, my 4 year old Grandson loves this song. So as the good Nana I am decided to try and learn it on my piano. Thank you for your video and going slow for beginners ;) God Bless
WOW Love this! I'm a beginner who's tired of playing "oh susanna" & "wheels on the bus". LOL So clear & concise. Love the added part where u play the song & isolate the instruments. Please do more classic rock & Elton John. Thank you!!!
This tutorial was perfect, you had a nice personality, you explained very well and you builded everything up from very easy and simple to more and more chords and stuff. Really well made, I hope you continue, because you were awesome.
Hi! How do you do to isolate the piano part??! This is brilliant!!! It would help me soooo much to find the notes at the piano for so many songs! Do you use any specific software? Cheers =)
Thank you very much! Perfect tutorial! Together with the piano solo tutorial which I also found on RU-vid, I've got everything to play this song in a band! :)
HI! Im just joined a band as the keyboard player, im trying to find keyboards part as they are playing the song - not just chords, this was very helpful! thanks for doing this video
One of the best tutorials I've seen in a long time! THANK YOU, very helpful and fun. Loved the enthusiasm and i will definitely subscribe!! quick question Instructor Mike; what computer program did you use in order to isolate the piano, guitar etc etc? i found that very interesting since i have a very hard time distinguishing some musical instruments in certain songs.
Dude, thanks for taking the time to post this, it's informative and easy to understand. Those with negative comments should either post something better or keep their traps shut. Thanks.
Hello, I'm french so sorry for spelling errors. Tanks to you, Ican play Sweet Home Alabama full ! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for posting this video very explicit ! Tanks Google Translate too...
>Hello colegue. I have a band, here in México, in the city of Querétaro. our name is Essentials. we play tribute to different artists or subjects (the essence of it), it can be to an age, a specific genre, or anything, always a specific theme. we atrted doing a Billy joel´s tribute and now we are in something more like a season, age thing. and we are playing this friday 13 of november on the Harley Davison agency in my city. we had really few time to get new repertory, because last year we played the Billy´s,so in two months we had to get a whole new one. we needed to play this one. Home sweet Alabama, I know it´s easy, but with time over us, is not easy to get all the riffs by hear. so i found your tutorial, and now i think i´m ready to play it this friday. i hope we can record some of our performance that day and i will upload it so you can see it. Now you can see our first performance live, in september 2014. we gathered the band from january to may when the current drummer joined us and we could start officially our journey as a band. in january of this year the singer decided to quit the group, because he had a lot of other works and he had no time, and his voice was getting hurt with such effort with 3 different bands. so we needed to re start with a new singer. Although for this performance he will be the singer again, because the new one had another compromise the same day. so we asked to the previous singer to help with this one. get in my channel and you will see it. or you can search for example essentials piano man, or just the way you are, or honesty, still rock and roll to me, my life, she is always a woman to me. with my name DIEGO SILVA CHAPELA
Try playing that descending riff (P2) with both hands. Then you can do a nice roll-up and hit the notes cleanly and in tempo instead of karate-chopping and praying it works.
where do you end up just playing it? very good btw i just want to hear it or know what time you play it through to see if i should or can play it thanks
