Do i need to get permission to do covers. i will be playing the guitar and just singing covers. Will I be safe if I donot monetize? Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.
It's OK to do covers as long as you don't upload someone else's work. If the songs are old and in the public domain, no problem at all. If they are copyrighted, you will have to share royalties with the copyright owner if you monetize. What you can't do is simply upload someone else's original version of a song. You have to make your own version of it. Hope this helps.
