I love fruit comparisons like this, one day, I want to have some land and plants and trees for fruit and nuts. These types of videos are great and helping me identify the future as I will be able to plant and enjoy.

08:13 is a good place to start if you just want his ranking and want to hear a good summary (I recommend listening to it). His Ranking: 1. Flavor King Pluot (he mentioned it's not even at full ripeness at time of test) [Brix: 22.5] 2. Candy Heart Pluerry (he mentioned it's not even at full ripeness at time of test) [Brix: 19] 3. Sweet Treat Pluerry [Brix: 17]

I would like to know how they each canned up for food storage. Which ones are best after canning or freezing? Have you ever made plum wine or jelly or cider? Thanks.

Hi. I have Flavor King & Queen Pluot, do they need another Japanese Plum to pollination? Thank you.

Awesome video! I have a question about candy heart pluerry. Will flavor king or dapple dandy be suitable pollinators for it?

I've used other plum and other pluots together. Pluerries can go w cherries pretty much too

Dude, I’m so sad right now!!! I have had sweet treat and flavor king trees planted right next to each other for four years. The sweet treat has been reliably producing for 3 years and I really like the fruit. But, my flavor king never produced a single fruit!!! So I just tore it out a couple of days ago and now you have me wishing I would have kept trying with it :( I’m near Twin Falls ID. Don’t really know why it never set fruit, it was a fairly healthy tree. Have you had, or know of anyone else with a similar experience?

Did it have a lot of flowers? I find it to be a little more frost sensitive than sweet treat. But, it could also be a pollination issue. What zone is Twin Falls?
@the-mountainlife

@@Boisefruit It seemed to have roughly 75% of the blossoms that my sweet treat would have. I’m zone 6b.You’ve got me thinking about candy heart though too. Does it produce as reliably for you as sweet treat, or is it too a little frost sensitive? Thanks.

Anecdotal evidence, but right now it is my latest blooming plum, pluot, pluerry. I have gotten fruit from it every year. Not sure if that will hold true this year...looks like the forecast is pretty dicey, but from what I have seen so far, it is as productive as sweet treat. Granted sweet treat and candy heart are on different rootstocks.

@@Boisefruit I know, our forecast is awful right now! Ok, well it’s probably worth a try. Now the trouble is finding one! How old is that tree?

@@Boisefruit i appreciate you taking the time to make these videos. I have have stumped on what trees to buy as as I am not aware of so many available and weather or not I will like the fruit. What rootstocks do you you have on your fruit trees mentioned in this video? Where did you purchase your trees?

Hi, does sweet treat pluerry need pollination ?
@Boisefruit
@Boisefruit 2 года назад
Yes it does. Most other Japanese plums will work to pollinate it.

Haven’t tried them. I may add one of them this year if I can find them at a local nursery.
