I am one of those people that actually enjoys the game. I love conquest, and most of the pvp stuff. I used to be close to quitting years ago until i joined my new current guild. We are all around 7 to 12 million gp, but the guild is so laid back. There's no push in TB or TW, we get what we got. Some people dont even join or attack, and that's fine. Being able to enjoy the game on your own terms means a lot. No pressure goes a long way.
It started with B2 cheese……instead of changing that they moved the difficulty slider on the whole raid. That screwed it all up. Now the time doesn’t represent the rewards. The Endor raid people were getting a lot of R8s from rewards and they wanted to change that. They also need 3 stars to always be sim.
Hey gerbil! Loved your content and mind. A couple things: Sad to see your go! Everyone is different, I've been playing games for a long time, here's a parallel: I use to play world of Warcraft. I took a break from the game, came back, and set some rules for myself. A couple xpacs came out, level cap got raised, allll this time sink and I just wanted to pvp and level a bit but not to max level! So I didn't buy the xpac, it capped my characters at 60, and I still got to do a lot of content I wanted to do and I dominated in my realm. I play games with that mentality today. I'm only willing to do so much. I'm not willing to buy datacrons. It will skill cap me, but at the same time it will also help me learn off meta strategies to deal with it. I cut a deal with my clan where I am only willing to auto naboo raid because it's so boring. I don't always max out for my units, but it makes me happy. I take a step back from the perfectionism, the forced competitiveness, and I draw my OWN rules and my OWN goals and I do the best I can within those parameters. I hope that helps!
This raid cannot end soon enough - it is simply WAY too much of a time sink. Constantly needing to redo "content" isn't content itself - let us sim things for heaven's sake. The design/concept of the raid is amazing, but it shouldn't require an MMO level commitment. Nearing my end with this game.
@@davidforrester3147 Other than a vomit inducing visual shit show - that raid was great. Investments and modding into toons provided consistent results - auto on said teams provided a fairly consistent 75-85% compared to manual runs. And overall runs were fast, very fast compared to this raid. This raid doesn't respect investment or time. r9 squads like QAM/Bros should be easy max run - instead its an RNG fest hellhole that can be ruined due to a single dodge.
Literally just let us post our highest scores and let us sim that. Then we replay it to try get a higher score, but we always have that score to sim. It's genuinely a huge annoying waste of time constantly redoing the same sh
@@nonono9194 I think that would be good you have to earn the score originally and every time you make upgrades you gotta go again. Part of the issue is they want the mtric of how much time people spend in the game is also explains why conquest is so grindy, even though I will say the last two cycles were an improvement over the prior one.
The problem with CG is not primarily the rookie devs, but the mismanagement and nonexistent customer communication handling. Given the huge monetary success this game is they should have at least one dedicated resource engaging with the community full time. Within one hour of a new thread being created (during office hours) with a valid concern there should be a reply from CG addressing it as a bare minimum. All communication and commitment from CG should be honored and followed up in a timely manner. If/when CG need to change their stand on something previously committed they should tell us and give a valid reason why they’ve decided to change the deal. Honesty, communication and transparency should be part of CG dna. Over the years it has always been the complete opposite, creating such a toxic environment for the players and the community. If CG would have a professional approach and company culture they should focus on improving the game and make it more rewarding and fun for their customers and monetize from giving a good experience. CG is taking the opposite route and monetize by actively making the game frustrating and bad for the players. It’s a very abusive decision and I can’t say I would recommend this game to any new player not already stuck in this toxic relationship.
I totally agree. CG is using dark patterns for monetization. P1 is the best example. It does not matter how many money you invested (e.g. the Negotiator LSB), we will release a single ship which beats (at a minimum) all light side fleets to date. You wanna stay relevant in fleet arena and get crystal income from there? Pay up!
I totally agree with you. I would like to add that we as a community have a inadvertently rold CG that this is okay because we keep speaking in favour of it with our money. Money is the only language a business like CG will respond to. The introduction of LSB saved their butts because we the community ate it up.
Thanks for posting this, whilst I'm sad to hear you're stepping back I'm glad you've been able to look after yourself in doing it as that's undoubtedly the most important thing. Everything you said by the way about SWGOH, I agree; although at this point I've no idea how to enact change as it feels the walkouts of players in the past 6-12 months have fallen on deaf ears at CG. I’m experiencing the same issue with this game. In a 600m+ guild - the raid and TB (rarely join TW) is way too much of a time sink - add in Conquest and I’m finding myself trying to stay up at night to get battles done as I don’t have time to play the game during the day and sometimes falling asleep playing the game. I feel like I need to join a far more casual guild so I don’t burn myself out but then my progress/rewards will decrease.
You are not alone in feeling this. I'm in a similar situation, staying up late to complete GAC matches playing against players who have all the bells and whistles. Then there are the annoying conquest feats and the silly stamina mechanics. Thank goodness for BitDynasty and his guides for conquest by most importantly galactic challenges. And the raid is another piece of something else. Regarding the feeling or not progressing quickly, one things that we need to be mindful of (and I am guilty of this as well) is to not let the state of our account define us. If we progress slowly then we just accept it and enjoy the qualify of life we get from the extra time.
I never thought I'd miss the endor raid where I just put it on auto and peeked in occasionally to avoid motion sickness, but the infinite redoing of battles looking for a decent score has left me straight up skipping at least half a dozen naboo raids.
Wow that’s wild, I just told my guild I’m quitting the game then opened up RU-vid and saw this. It’s for the exact same reasons too. I’ll add that I work as a game dev, and the stuff the devs pull in this game is just ridiculous. If I put out as much broken content as they do I would’ve been fired long ago. My love for all things SW just can’t overrule that anymore, it’s time to go.
They’re getting lazy. Just dumping stuff and saying “here you go” and then fixing afterwards. It’s becoming an awful time sink and I’m starting to think about changing my play style in game. Good on you for taking a step back!
This raid’s been messing me up so bad, I’ve considered just deleting my account several times because it’s just too much. I’ve gotta run 5 teams, only two of which seem to work reliably yet even those will somehow find a way to keep me playing longer. Sometimes I’ll spend 2-3 hours collectively trying to get that Maul lineup to work and I usually just end up taking the second to last wave and giving up. When I’m playing with Queen and Lumi the rng seems to always screw me over and I get stuck on those teams for hours. I’ve done the modding on these teams, I know the strategy as I’ve spent a long time perfecting them now, and I still end up losing so much time and I’m getting tired of it. I can handle the horrible Gac matchmaking (sometimes) and I enjoy Tb and conquest but this raid has actually just turned me off from the game. On another note the bugs in this game are also ridiculous, they just keep popping up and CG couldn’t care less. That stupid SK double ult bug cost me a Gac, lost another because Bane’s first special is still bugged after 8 months, spending even more time on the raid because nothing seems to be consistent or make any sense in it. I don’t even know how they can break so many things when whatever they’re working on has nothing to do with what broke. They don’t seem to properly test any new characters or even ships, which is sad because there are only like 7-8 competitive fleets in the game. This game is a sad excuse for entertainment, it feels like rage bait at this point

I feel you, but for me it's the game itself: It's deliberately been made frustrating to the point that I refuse to acknowledge it as a game and rather just call it the misery simulator. Every 3rd battle I do I notice enemies yanking tens and tens of extra turns outta their pockets, no matter the game mode, and that's not how you make enemies and nodes harder, that's how you make your players lose their sanity. Ever since the first GLs arrived, I've felt CG's slimy appendages reaching for my pockets more than any kind of real joy.

The constant bugs and inept releases are beyond frustrating as well. This P1 knee jerk investigation was absolutely absurd. I can definitely see how it could be the final straw. CG came up with this raid style in their (failed) Heroes of Middle Earth game, and among all its problems that was the reason I stopped playing that game pretty much a few weeks after they launched the raid. They learned nothing.
Here's something really fun with the raid, the shield generator only takes a turn at the beginning of the raid. I was playing on manual, my generator had 3 stacks of recharge, i took 4 turns with my gungans, when i looked back at the generator it has 48 charge, it never took a turn
much like Celiac Sarah, you're a very different voice to the usual SWGOH crowd, of which I am typical!, and you will be missed but RL, especially health, mental and physical, has to come before a dman game! I'll stay a member of this channel and hopefully the next raid is less teeth achingly horrible [it's just an effing Assault Battle! and they became simmable for a very good reason]
I used to love GAC. But now I’m just tired of playing it and don’t want to play at all. The gap between those who donate and those like me who either don’t donate or donate less becomes a distance of light years. New packs, new datacrons are falling on you with a huge press, crushing you on the GAC. The game destroys you mentally. And this unfair selection of opponents kills the desire to win back GAC. And there’s still Baylan and the super-donated legend ahead. CG pls STOP! Thats too much!!
I totally agree. GAC is a game more I do much want to enjoy but I cannot because the opponents I face have insane end game rosters while I have 3GLs and a band of misfits. I am suspicious if the match making process because I don't believe that I'm the only one with my GP in K3 yet I somehow always go up against those with 2 - 4 mil more GP and that's not just roster bloat. This game deliberately and subliminally tries to make you feel your account is inadequate and that you need to do more to keep up or pay up. A pattern I noticed is that when I had 1 GL I faxed people with 3-4 GLs. As I got closer to having 3 GL. I continued to have opponents with 3 to 4 more GL! To me it's a sick way if treating players with a black box system like this.
I agree that the time sink is way too much. I auto so many things in the game because at just don’t have the time to do everything properly. Looking forward to any of your future videos whenever you decide to do them.
The new raid is probably the worst game mode. The rng and difficulty even on T1 is terrible. 0 fun 🫤 The good strategies are time consuming and the squads are boring to play. I want to be positive and think the next one is gonna be better , but I doubt it. Good idea to step back. Cheers man 🤘

As another fellow teacher. I know how that feels. It's tough. The LSB makes them sudden money, and they want more. Yeah, it's a rough year for this game, especially since Leia... I'll say this. This will go much worse in the future (yet i hope i'm wrong). Edit: Also, thank you for everything you've done to this community. If you want to take a break, do it. It's way better than go further to the rabbit hole of burnt out. I've been there, and it sucks, a lot.
I can relate in such a big way. I love Star Wars. I love collecting in the game. But I absolutely hate the time sink the game has. I’m a 2015 player. And I quit for 2 years because of the time sink. Before Maul was in conquest is when I left. I came back last August. The game has changed ridiculously in those two years. And the time sink is worse than it used to be. They need some massive QoL updates in a hurry. They need to reduce the time the game takes. It’s a chore. And a lot of the time it’s not a fun one. I miss when conquest was first introduced. That was actually fun. What they turned it into is an awful chore. Like the OLD galactic war days when you couldn’t complete it. But worse. The raid is awful right now. A ridiculous RNG time investment. GAC is something I never really liked but was always good at back in the day. Omicrons and Datacrons have changed the game big time. Sometimes it’s exhausting with them. More particularly for datacrons as you constantly need to learn a new counter. I get it’s something to keep the game “fresh” but it’s kind of a bland way of doing it. I like the idea of omicrons making old crappy toons relevant. But they don’t do that anymore. It’s with every new toon now. A toons isn’t good anymore without a shinny omicron. They are just the new zetas when those first cake it. Only those weren’t tied to specific game modes. I really, really miss what this game was before 2018. The early days of the game I really enjoyed a lot. Once CG Carrie left the game I feel like it went downhill quickly. They stopped caring about us as players like they used to. And the game has become a big chore since she left.

i had to quit swgoh, the game became more of a hassel instead of just being fun. Conquest alone was ok but adding the DC ruined it for me. Then the days you have TB, conquest, and raids was way to much.
Hey, family and health is super important. I think a great example of how they have made the game more difficult is how they released Punisher One. For a while they did the galactic chase where you could just use your crystals to farm fleet nodes (or cantina) while getting ship shards. Now you have to fight the same battles 6 days in a row and have to use your crystals to buy the stupid packs. It’s so much more expensive, both in crystals and time, and you get so much less. I could 7* a ship with 10-15k crystals, but spending 20k I will only just get 6*. Such a waste.
I’ve been feeling the exact same way. I’ve recently moved to a new town with a new job and it’s taken a much larger chunk of my time and I don’t have time to sit down and get stressed with GAC when CG is just going to screw me over with the matchmaking anyway. I’m moving to an alt guild in my alliance where I can put this game on the back burner where it belongs for now

I especially benefited from your astute economic analysis of toon releases when predicting future GLs (your jabba predictions argument which I found convincing helped me gain a big head start on his unlock way back when). I don't usually write comments on youtube videos, but I feel, in this occasion, I must. I, like you, love Star Wars, and this game/collection has kept me playing on and off with light regular intensity, so your videos have been a great help. More than the info, I have enjoyed your passion for Ewoks and Gungans and your overly analitical and organized way of preparing all the info you share. Your personal health and family is the most important thing and you must take great care. I thank you for all that you have shared and hope to still see you doing some of your wonderful infographics in the future... Once you have availability again for the game and us all. gonna add that i hate mod management (and datacron management aswell at this point), galactic challenges / galactic conquest goes there aswell, there is no fun there involved, especially if you dont have all new shiny teams to do the feats (i dont even see the point to buy conquest pass cuz i am physically unable to get the last couple of crates/rewards, what is the point to pay full price for half of the rewards?), i returned to the game for 3rd time now and i see how excessively burning it is with all the daily routine (thats especially noticeable in contrast with chinese/japanese gacha games that takes lil to to not daily time from you), one last thing : there is that tower defense gacha game named "path to nowhere" which also has daily energy refills, but this refill stays active until lthe end of the day, so you can claim them ANY time of the day unlike goh where its active for only 2 hours..

Maybe CG will notice the loss of the many long term content creators this year as well as the low content from others. It does suck to see more people leave the community, but I totally understand why you have to do it. You come first, not the game. A sunk cost fallacy really shouldn't be holding anyone hostage. While it's not to the same degree personally, I've installed other games, I'm picking up other things to do and I've really stopped caring about how perfect I can do GAC and TW and Raids and TB and GL events and unsimmable events and farming and farming and more farming. It's one thing to keep people on the treadmill of routine for engagement, but what CG is doing with this is not good. Take care of yourself, Gerbil
I so completely understand the logic and emotion behind stepping back. The game is a a major time sink with 1 account and so many play 2 or more. Health and family more important, time is finite and 6 becomes 16 in an eyeblink so relish the time you're getting back. Notifications are on and when you do post I'll be listening. I recently quit myself. i hate being a slave to the numerous timers in this game. if you want to play and stay competitive you need to be logging in to many times wasting your time doing bs "events" that should be simmable. the fact the new marque events aren't simmable is incredibly stupid. make the player work for "good" rewards. getting my 10,000 home shards isn't good. i quit for over a week now and it feels so much better. i won't ever be coming back and i honestly thought i unsubbed from all the channels but guess i missed one

Your doing the raid wrong I have two accounts in one guild I don't do multi runs to get the right rng to max score.what makes this game good is not the game but the community.is you scybes rangerj1999 and all past content creator.but cg did give you galitic challenge of ewoks😅.now back to trolling rangerj1999 and scybes to r9 ewoks I think I need them drunk.
Honestly, my favorite part is laying out my farm path . Its fun to like map out future teams and some of the grind to get there. Side note, GOD bless and been enjoying the content gerbil. 🫡
