I don't think we could get more than a 5th for Herbert. I would rather see him walk at the end of the year or take a team friendly contract to stick around afterwards. Maybe we wont have half a game this year where we have a halfback as our only running back.

people are sleeping on how good Herbert and Roschon are. I honestly hope if they dont get much playtime that they get traded so they can see the field.

I see Swift as the starting back with Johnson as the change of pace back. Herbert would be the 2nd half back used like the 49ers use Mitchell, when you have a lead and you are running clock later in the game you bring him in to grind out the yards and be the bruiser.

Well, Swift is obviously an upgrade to the RB room. I just think RoJo is very similar and ready. Maybe learning from Swift a year helps him grow. It should. Herbert imo is our burner RB. But they should let these guys compete for Snaps.

We need at least 3 top line running backs in our stable. What I think we are lacking is a bruiser who can get the tough yard or touchdown.

I was a little disappointed with Rochon last year. Other than a few gutsy plays he didn't seem to do much. Maybe it was the play calling or just being a rookie, I don't know. Looking forward to what Waldren can do with him. Khalil is still a good quick back. Always liked his running style.

yea at Texas Roschon was the thunder to Bijan Robinson's lightnight. Khalil Herbert was most effective as the lightnight to Montgomery's thunder. It's unfortunate but he just is the odd man out in terms of compatibility with Swift and hes on the last year of his contract. But Herbert is still great depth for this next season if he doesn't get traded

Honestly I think Wheeler is the wildcard. If Wheeler shows out as a returner and can pass block (in case Roschon gets hurt) then I could see us trading Herbert for a late round pick to start the season. I could see him in Baltimore or San Diego

I think your right Swift one two punch. They paid Swift and drafted Roschon for a reason. I like Khalil and think he is a heck of a back but we have so many weapons. I would not give him away either but find a way to give him the ball and let his trade value rise. Bear Down and Beer Down!

Swifty, one day, a great NFL team will be able to handle multiple levels of talent on its roster by NOT trading away ANY talent--which is the de facto norm that Da Bears have been doing for the last few decades. Being #3 shouldn't automatically mean "trade bait", especially when we trade away a good player for a mediocre one. 🐻🐻🐻🐻⬇⬇⬇⬇

Running back is EASILY our deepest position on the team. After that, linebacker. The next is a distance 3rd, frankly.

Great info Swift. My question is, in your option, could Wheeler see the field at RB aside from preseason and/or junk time? I would hate to see his talent wasted sitting on the bench.

Herbert wants to bounce to the outside %85 of the time.. They have to basically force him to run between the tackles.. Herbert dont cut inside.. Roshon is young and should be RB 2 with his better pass pro... Swift does both and like foreman last year, he is more dynamic after 15 yards.. .. I still think Foreman shoulda started last year just because the defenses knew to watch the corners in the run game when Herbert was in the game. They knew if he got the hand off, he would be going on outside depending on whichever direction he cut to 1st.. Khalil gotta start willing like running / cutting between the tackles and guards more... he is too predictable.. he is starting caliber, but you cant be a "tell" in the run game, no matter how talented you are.

I would not trade Khalil Herbert, the season is long and injuries are inevitable, so having a backup option is best. Chicago can replace him next year and allow him to hit the free agent market. Right now while striving to learn a new offense it best to have veteran Running Backs. Like I said next year the bears can address in the draft.

Swift is more well rounded. Herbert is a better runner though. Both are somewhat susceptible to injuries though, so it’s better to keep them both. Only one guy can run the ball at a time, so 3 headed monster is a little exaggerated in my opinion. I don’t think Swift is a better runner than Foreman, just more well rounded.

The Bears may have the worst RB situation in the Division. Here's why: We dont really have a "thunder and lightning" combo. We have no "thunder". I dont really believe in Roschon whatsoever but i am hoping i am wrong. i know many many bears fan like him. he seems too slow and not shifty enough for the NFL. and when he tries to run guys over he just injures himself. thus, he is not a "thunder". Herbert is a fine runner but he cant catch or block. I love Dswift. He is an electric player who can be an elite lighting like Dev Achane or Gibbs or others. But he should only get 10-15 carriers and run a whole bunch of routes. The most talented RB duo in the division is prob Jacobs & Lloyd (lloyd was pretty much my fav RB outside of rey Benson). and jacobs average almost 5 yards a carry and ran for 1700 yards just a couple of years ago. thats a real thunder and lightning combo. Dmont and Gibbs are #2 but they might put up the best numbers. Moreover, Gibbs could easily be the best RB in the division, if not the entire NFL. He has reggie bush / alvin kamara written all over him. detriot is yet another thunder and lightning combo. The Bears and Sota are prob tied for 3rd but who would you rather have: Aaron jones, Swift, herbert or Roschon? I'd take Aaron Jones. That means the Bears might have the worst starting RB in the division. We havnt spent that much money or draft capital on RB; thus, it seems as if its not really a priority position for the Bears. I thought maybe they'd go all in on saquon or pay for henry just to give Caleb a vet, proven RB. The Bears have decent talent at RB but its still prob the worst in the division. the division is just very good. and many other divisions they'd prob be #2

Herbert is gone. Monty outplayed Swift last year and Swift was able to run a extra 6 feet b4 contact. Detroit traded Swift to get Montgomery also. Roshan is our best running back to say Swift is heads and shoulders above is silly.
