I am learning breast stroke and have watched more than 10 tutorial videos. This is the best tutorial I have seen so far, the best explanation which breaks down to the very detail, also gives you very specific drills to practice...simply awesome! thanks Chloe!!!!!!!
A chaotic "lesson" with hard reverb on the voice and a pool where the water streams heavily so you cannot actually understand the real movement. Your kick should drive you forward, but you see that she apparently doesn't move at all. :D
As a newbie to swimming at age 28, I've found your videos to be 100% the most lucid, helpfully divided, simple to internalize of everything I've found (and I've searched a LOT!). Thanks for helping make a sport that I found so intimidating such a fun and achievable challenge.
Some good points. I don't do this stroke for speed, but I'm always looking to improve my efficiency. I love this stroke because I can do it all day long - partly because the glide is my favorite part, too. I drag my glide out for a gooooood loooonnnnnggg time!
Thanks-- this was the exact information I needed to improve my stroke-- I think I finally understand the leg/ arm timing-- you explained it really clearly.
Chloe, how do you make your body go higher above the water? Do you remember me from the other video? Can you please tell me when you have time? Thanks!
If you conciously think about keeping your elbows higher in the pull when your hands get about shoulder width, that'll set you up to pull the water not just to the side, but more also below you. This motion should naturally raise your chest and hear higher out of the water, as you are pushing the water below you. This should feel very obvious you are chest is rising/puffing. Once you get used to it, then you can focus on optomizing your stroke. Hope that helps!
Chloe, you are an amazing teacher! All your videos are very helpful and you have put a lot of efforts to make those-I wish, i could have got a swimming teacher like you here...Regards.
I want to get trained by her. I’ve been taking regular swimming classes at a community college yet still struggling with this (including the butterfly)
Your awesome Chloe! Thanks to your great advice, I got my first cut to a BIG meet in my 100 Breaststroke! I love all of your videos! You explain everything so well! You are kind of like a second coach to me so could I call you Coach Sutton? 🏊🏊🏊😂😁😁😀😀
In my life guarding course you have to do a thing called time swim. You swim a certain distance in a certain time. I swim breaststroke for the whole half kilometre lol
Good educational videos. Suggestion if I might. Find out how to remove echo from your recording or add captions. You speak well but the echo affect means for folk like me with hearing impairment (with or without hearing aids in) we lose up to 90% of what you are saying at start of each video clip. That is when you catch and keep or lose viewers so its important. Good teacher, you speak with confidence and put it so anyone can follow your meaning and back it up with showing us in the water. I learned a few things I may have been doing that have been detrimental to my swimming at the end of the day. I am swimming for fitness and so keep checking out online videos to see how to improve little by little Like how you teach, keep doing them. Keep them short too, we remember them better. Thanks for your generosity of time and expertise.
Hi chloe, my parents have an endless pool, I sometimes find I drift off to one side especially when I am doing kick or pull drills only with floats. Have you noticed this or got any tips? Thanks
Hello Chloe Your instruction sessions are awesome and unparalleled But allow me to say They can't be ear , audio with such room-rumble , especially for a NON American/British speaking, is almost impossible to be understood Hopefully you may think to re-dub your videos from a normal/studio room rumbleless Thank you
I've checked back here to see If I do my breaststroke pretty well. But turns out its my home pool that is not deep enough (only 20" deep) to fully do the proper leg kicks for this stroke.
I watch videos until I find someone that can put it in the right context. I used to be a Lifeguard a long time ago but never learned proper stroke. Thanks for the Breast Stroke video, as soon as I went to the pool, I could transfer that knowledge into action. Great video explanation. I will also spend time on the drills.
I am not a big fan of treadmills. Granted I will use them instead of freezing or so my knees and ankles do not fall apart... but this seems really functional. Especially for open water swimming. It would be nice to get a feel for swimming against the current. It is not very often that you will be running and the world will be trying to outrun you but it is a very real possibility you might need to fight some current. That being said please swim parallel with the current if in the ocean.
Im trying to learn breaststroke and have watched a ton of videos. Every single time they say keep your knees close together, but when watching them swim, none if them do!
Unfortunately the audio quality when she is in the pool is terrible and her speech is unintelligible. Next time hire a professional sound technician to record your voice without the terrible reverb at the pool.
YOU GET THE BEST FROM THE BEST, THANK YOU CHLOÉ, I NEEDED YOUR SIMPLE AND MOST CLARIFYN EXPLANATION TO GET BETTER IN BREASTROKE, ALL THE BEST FOR YOU AND YOUR BELOVED ONES FROM PERÚ
Hi Chloe going in pool tomorrow haven't been in pool about year now because of covid 19 what trip should I do to warm up will be in the pool for a hour swim.x
I tell my swimmers to pretend their hands are a speedboat! Not a submarine, not an airplane, but a speedboat right along the surface of the water. Everybody is different with exactly how much (1 finger, 2, 3, etc) but that is the general guideline.
I watch the entire video and thought I’d have lots to offer me. However, I have hearing loss and I found the reverberation of the pool area made it almost impossible to understand what was said. The captioning wasn’t useful either because the artificial intelligence and couldn’t understand the speech either.
