I just installed the panels completely backwards and drilled too many holes in my roof because I couldn’t hear what he was saying over the loud friggin music . Now all the water is pouring into my family room, but at least it’s warm.

Over in Tierrasanta the copper system is producing 540 gallons/hour at 12 degrees higher than the pool temp. The system is brand new and has not been adjusted for max production. Thanks your your encouragement and videos. With the pool now 65, will there be swimming in February or will warm water be knocked down by another rain?….it was up to 72 when the cold rain fell last week.

Swimming in the winter relying strictly on solar is virtually impossible unless you live in a warmer climate like Central or South Florida. In winter months the days are shorter, and the sun is much less intense and lower in the sky, so significant solar heating gains is difficult. Pools also lose a lot of heat at night with the low temperatures. A properly sized SwimEasy solar pool heating system will typically increase pool temperature by 7-15 degrees based on seasonal weather conditions. Maybe I’m missing the details, how much can these panel increase your temps? I have a gas heater and was seeing if there are additional supplement heat sources to not run the heater as aggressive. But not seeing any case studies on before after and what you should expect.

Yes, these are thermal heating panels, so a pump and filter are required to cycle water through them.

@@pajeeper420 Most systems tie into the existing pump/filtration equipment. An independent system can be done, but it's not a common method. The pump horsepower requirements depend on the size of the solar system, length of plumbing runs, and height above the pump to the panels.
